Act this way with the wrong folks, and ya'll be fightin' whether ya intended to or not.

They were truly words spoken by the fugitive convict before, but it wasn't through any guard training. Jolie watched Sho leave the kitchen steadily, her hand dipping into her coat to pull out the letter she was reading before. Of course, it was from Grathon -- she had written the Greenfields gang her first report earlier after meeting the Reachian Weyrleader, and only now had gotten back a response. It was short and to the point: Good job, keep alert of anything sent your way, and good luck.

No feedback on all the names she's collected thus far, but Jolie kinda expected that. As long as she did what she was told and kept her head down, Lanvec could really care less the going-ons of the Weyr. At least, it seemed that way to her.

The letter got folded once again and placed back into its protective custody, Jolie's gaze going back to her time spend in Greenfields among the many kids Sho's age. Yes, she had said those very same words before - to them, teaching caution with their emotions the way her eldest brother used to teach her back in Keogh. Not that it did -her- any good: bad choices made by emotions had led her to the predicament she's in now. She was a hypocrit for trying to instill the same in the younger stablehand, but maybe she was seeing something of herself in Sho. Why does she even care?

Jolie pushes herself away from the table and finally, with backpack in hand, makes her way out of the kitchens. She needed a drink before she returned to her stable-work. She needed to keep focused on the task at hand. Life at the Weyr was proving to be a piece of pie so far, so she was wondering why the others bothered to warn her so much about this place. Folks like Sho she can handle. Even the Weyrleader, if their first meeting was any indication. Jo had -nothing- to worry about.
