Elaruth chose the dawn of day 7, month 10 to claim the hatching sands as hers and begin laying her clutch in the relative privacy that the time of morning afforded her, though, as ever, both the Weyrleaders and her mate kept her company for the long hours that unfolded before them. By midday, the senior queen had laid the final egg of her clutch of thirteen, with no obvious queen singled out among them, and settled down to sleep with the lot of them shielded from view by the drape of a wing. Those few visitors that spent time in the galleries over the course of the morning claim that there doesn't look to be anything out of the ordinary about the clutch, unlike last time, and that many of the shells are dappled with autumnal shades. As usual, the rules for remaining in the galleries are simple: keep quiet and don't cause a ruckus. Anyone who upsets Elaruth can expect to find themselves swiftly removed from the cavern.
