Her family Hold at Ruatha River - her sister Briallan is the current Holder, her brother Rhuvawn the former, removed from the post after the events of Rivellan's conspiracy. Her daughter, Mimi, is currently training with the Hold's Headwoman.
She hates to be idle and likes to have work to do almost every hour of the day. She's been known to make herself ill with such behaviour, which has involved working through the night.
She's used to getting things done her - the right - way. If someone can't do something 'right', she'll just take the task off them and get on with it herself, no matter how mundane.
Elaruth was involved in a flight which resulted in the death of another queen. She has significant scarring along her flanks and some across her ribcage, and doesn't spend as much time in the air as she used to.
Though the beginnings of her leadership with bronzerider N'muir were rather obviously rocky, they have two children, are weyrmated, and he was her Weyrleader for over a decade.
Hattie stepped down as Weyrwoman on day 14, month 2, turn 38, after over 14 turns as Senior.
Description
Standing at around 5'6", Hattie is a slim figure in her mid thirties, any suggestion of fragility that her delicate frame suggests countered by the confident manner in which she carries herself. Her dark skin is only fractionally lighter than her hair, which falls in unruly and frizzy waves to the small of her back. Deep brown eyes are set in an oval-shaped face with a rather undefined jaw and smooth cheekbones. A line of pale scarring curves around the outer edge of her right eye, small marks located at her shoulders and scattered down her arms.

History
Hattie, in her own words, had 'the misfortune to be born a girl' and was thus deemed by her father to not be a suitable heir to Ruatha River Hold, despite being his firstborn. Between the early realisation that she was never going to be good enough and a, to her mind, too submissive mother setting a poor example, she learned all that she could, worked as much as she could (and beyond), and subsequently irritated much of the Hold's staff with her determination that everything should be perfect. In her twentieth turn, after dodging and talking her way out of several marriage proposals, she was sent to Fort Weyr by her father, under the guise of broadening her education.
She Impressed Morning Over Mists Gold Elaruth in Turn 19 and found herself bound to a creature who was, in almost every way, her complete opposite, and certainly not what she expected from a queen. Though it took her turns to realise Elaruth's strengths and for the two of them to learn how to put her supposed weaknesses to good use and better navigate the world, Hattie has adored her from the moment of Impression. Though Fort's Weyrwoman retains many of the traits that she arrived with - particularly the demand for perfection and the instinct to work every hour sent - if not for Elaruth's companionship and tempering over the turns, she might now be in a far more lonely, isolated place.
