| Day 4 of month 7, Elaruth finally took to the skies with the midday sun and led many of Fort's bronzes and browns on a chase through difficult currents. Accompanying Fort's own were two Southern bronzes, reportedly a pair of S'dellan's wingleaders, and though the high winds of summer brought about some wing wrenches and one near-miss, neither of the Southern bronzes were responsible for any injuries, nor did they demonstrate any clear intent to interfere - beyond their presence at a closed leadership flight. As many predicted, Fort hasn't found itself with a Southern or new Weyrleader, and it was Bijedth who once again caught his long-time mate, who was in high, cheerful spirits for the duration of her flight. It makes a change from Elaruth's most recent flights past, which had earned both the queen and her rider a reputation for being unpredictable. However, perhaps this, her ninth, didn't exactly go entirely to plan, for the Weyrleaders themselves didn't actually show up to the flight weyr, leaving many bronze and brownriders irritated with Hattie, owing to everything from what sounds like worry to jealousy. Were Hattie and N'muir /that sure/ this time? A flight means eggs, and a second clutch by the Weyrleaders' dragons since Eliyaveith rose in her weyrlinghood. Is the Weyr's junior queen ever going to rise again? Or has the damage been done? |
