| OOC Notes: This vignette came about because of this +mail I received in the wake of Z'ian's promotion to Boreal's WiL position: Z'ian goes out, yeah? Maybe he gets dinner? Or goes to visit that badass ladyfriend of his? Yeah, well, when he comes back home and gets his hearth going, he'll find the chimney has been stuffed with old rags and all the smoke backs up into the weyr. He'll probably have to fish those out. Might be a bit of a fire hazard to leave them there. |

| Just another normal night, really. Z'ian didn't think to check the chimney on his hearth before lighting the fire. He didn't think anything of walking away from it and puttering around in his bed chamber for a couple of minutes either. « Our weyr is filling with smoke. » Tsanth intoned rather drolly, no big deal. Just maybe a fire. It's all cool. "Oh fuck." Moving quickly he was back at the hearth, beating out the fire and taking the poker and jamming it up the flue. Bits and pieces of charred fabric fell out at first and then whole pieces of rags. The hair on his arms singed from the heat and he could tell that he smelled like smoke. Emergency over, he sank to the floor with his back against the stone wall. "Worst promotion ever." « So you're going to start listening to my ideas now, right? Because I've got some awesome ones. » Z'ian just brought the heel of his palm up to his forehead and rubbed. "Guess so." |
