The bar is the usual suspects - Glacier wingriders all engaged in cards and booze, and folks generally around looking for their next pick-up. Jo has claimed one of the tables in the back, seated in a spot where she can watch all of Snowasis from her vantage - including the entrances. She's had Tacuseth creep his shadowy mind into Ghislaith's, seeking an audience between riders and so, the convict rider is just sitting back and enjoying a beer, her black leather jacket opened and her hair is its usual mussed-up quality.

"Oh, look at you. All mussed up hair as usual. You never did let me fix it up for you." Sabella gently chides as she appears from the crowd, slipping into the seat across from Jo. She's picked up her own personal style some now that they've graduated from the barracks, seems just the thought have freedom has given her the incentive to get herself together once again.

Suddenly smirking at the familiar voice of her mentee, "That's cuz I wasn' plannin on stickin' around that graduation," Jo notes in response, turning her head to catch the greenrider's face. "Ya didn' even let me congratulate ya, in my way," she adds, tsking. "Sybile had so many nice things to say about'cha and ya missed it. Ya'll likely never hear a kind word from her ever again. I guess, lucky ya won' end up in the same wing, huh?" She picks up her beer, brows lifting and fall before she drinks. Then, only after she's had her drink does she add as she looks Sabella over, "It's been awhile."

"Oh, I'm sure that she didn't. But then we never did make peace with each other." Sabella says airly in regards to the other girl, her smile crooked and not so innocent. But then she's waving over the nearby waitress to order her drink, something light. The greenrider isn't a tremendous drinker. "I got out of there as quickly as I could. E'sren and I had plans."

"Ya two should at least be civil," Jo notes idly, setting her beer down as she looks over towards the group of wingmates playing darts. When Sabella waves for the waitress, "The drinks're on me," she states, nodding. "Not really a graduation gift, but, it's a start. Plans with E'sren, huh? Gettin' tight, the two of ya." It's a little playful, the tone of her voice. And well, speaking of, she does flip back the long sleeve of her left arm, revealing a bracelet as she adds, "Ya should've stuck around, darlin'. I've got somethin' for ya."

"I haven't seen us have any knockdown dragout fights. And if she told you that we did, she's a liar. And a bad one, because she would have told you she won. We both know that would never be the truth." When Jo makes her intention to pay clear, Sabella lifts her shoulders and gives a little nod of her head. With a smile, "Thanks. And yes, well. We've been tight for awhile. It's a thing, apparently." And that's the best she can describe it for now. Her glance goes curiously to the bracelet, but she keeps quiet for now. "A million marks?" The greenrider asks coyly.

Laughing out loud, "Now see, I'm about to go set somethin' up with Zuman back in Greenfields'n have y'all duke it out for real in his ring," Jo teases openly. "Watch and see this in action. Ya think Es would wanna watch his girl rough it up?" Pause. "A thing," she echoes now, raising her beer to her. "Very much so. I guess this makes me have a thing, too." The bracelet. A thumb brushes its surface before she asks, "Has he been tapped yet?" To that last, now that gets even louder laughter. "Whatcha need a million marks for, huh? To buy yerself a boat? To buy a Hold, even? Naw," and she shakes her head, draining her bottle. "Got somethin' better. Ya been tapped yet?"

Sabs gives the bluerider a flash of a smile, one that contains just a hint of a glare. "He doesn't know anything about that. And I don't think that he would like it if he did." Her attention shifts once more to the bracelet when Jo, points it out. The amusement there is clear, "I see. I thought it was already a thing, had been a thing? Just looks like he made it official on you." She smirks, accepting the drinks when they come around. "No, not yet. If I had a million marks I would buy a mark." She confirms before taking a sip from her glass. "I haven't been tapped either. Why, you want to pick me up for your own?"

"I think every man should see his girl in action at least once," Jo remarks blithely with a flash of teeth. "It's a good test. Ha ha, by the way." It was towards the next, on her bracelet, the bluerider giving a shrug as she says, "I suppose he has to be sneaky like that. Maybe it's a bronzerider thing?" When the drinks come around, she takes up her next beer with a couple of marks going towards the barmaid before she speaks again. She smirks on the next bit, but it's the tapping question that gets her answer. "Actually, yeah," is what she says back, her hand already dipping within her black jacket to pull out the knot of a Glacier rider. She smoothes it out before laying it on the table and sliding it forward towards her as she says, "Looks like me'n ya'll be seein' more of each other after this. I ain'cha mentor anymore, or, I ain' if ya don' need one anymore. This'll make us wingmates now, and that shit's pretty serious in Glacier. Makes ya all official-like."

"Oh, no. I think that I'm probably going to avoid that. I don't so much want that to be a side of me he sees. And again, I'm not much for fighting recreationally." She glances towards the bracelet again and hikes up an eyebrow. "There's something sneaky about jewelry?" The greenrider wonders, her mouth twisting into an amused smile. "Wingmates. Kind of like being partners, just with lots of other partners involved." Her hand goes to the knot without any hesitation, picking it up and turning it over to examine it. "What kind of serious things will we be doing in Glacier?" Sounds like an acceptance, one that occurs without actually saying yes.

"If yer serious 'bout him, does he know yer history, at least?" Jo asks now, a brow lifting at her for the first. And, the next does have her chuckling on the question, enough for her she shrugs lightly and answer back on jewelry, "Jewelry sort of makes things all official-like, right? Of course I act like it's no big deal," she admits with a casual nod, "but truth is, ain' no one's gotten me anythin' like that before. Not even Deetan. Guess he's conscious of my ego like I am." There's a pert smile to that, laced through with fondness before she then nods towards the knot and that statement on partners. "In Glacier? Serious? Likely not anythin' to draw attention to ourselves right now," she answers her question with a flick of a gaze towards those Glacier wingriders around them. "Not since the fall of our Taikrin from the Weyrleadership. These days, it's mostly been keeping her head down and goin' through drills and sweeps. For us," she add the emphasis with a look, "that means we keep our heads down and stick to whatever business comes our way from the homebase. Yer a full rider now, so, yer time's really yer own to do with as ya see fit. Choose to be more actively involved, choose to stick to the Weyr more than the rest of us, or choose to be more present there than here. Still," and she pauses to lean back with her drink, "there ain' no better wing to sneak around in, if ya take it from me. Glacier riders keep to their own. Ya won' gotta worry about some wingmate of yers askin' about ya missin' drills here'n there, or, why they find ya in Crom more often than not. Not like Sybile or Canie, maybe, who has to worry, with the wings they got tapped into."

"No. And he doesn't need to." Sabella sounds serious at least in that. She winds the knot around in her fingers, smirking now for her response on the jewelry. "Or maybe he just likes to get you nice things. Men are funny like that, they get you things when they like you." Her glance follows that of Jo's towards the other riders, expression carefully schooled to neutral before returning to Jo. "I'm surprised that Sisha allowed her to keep the wing. But I guess maybe I shouldn't be, she seems like a fair woman. More or less." As for the rest, her smirk leads into laughter. "Yeah, I think that you're right about that. At least I'm not being tapped for Boreal or Taiga, given who's leading in those wings. Busy bodies. No offense." That would likely pertain to Jo's gentleman friend.

Regarding Sabella anew, "A clean slate girl," Jo states, nodding a few times. "Admirable. He may ask, one day. Men are funny like that. They want to know every aspect of ya when they like ya," borrowing her earlier words in regards to jewelry with a cheeky grin. "Love ya, even. Perhaps, with Z'ian. I am curious to see what he does next." There's a shake of her head for Taikrin, lips pressing into a thin line before she says, "Who else was gonna take over Glacier, though, really? I don' even think anyone that isn' in Glacier right now would volunteer to take over. We ain' exactly friendly to those outside our wing. Dunno much about Sisha to say one way or the other is she's a fair sort or not, though." Or, translation: for the moment Jo doesn't seem to find the time to look into the woman. She's easy on the last, following Sabs' laughter on the other wings, even the one of her boyfriend as she remarks, "None taken, darlin'. I know the feelin'. Certain wings like to be more involved with their riders than others. We're lucky Glacier is not. I don' need anyone lookin' in on me chattin' up the Red Man or one those from Greenfields. So yer good?" and she nods toward the knot. "Ya accept'n shit?" She slurps at her beer.

"Not exactly. I just like to keep certain parts of my life separate." Sabs clarifies, untwining the knot and slipping it over her shoulder. She adjusts it into its proper place, "Oh, yes. Accepting and shit." With that out of her hands she's able to reach for her drink again, "I'll just avoid having to give those answers probably indefinitely." So confident that it'll just never come up or that she'll be able to dodge it, the cockiness of youth. "I guess that's true. But still, there could be someone within the wing that would step up for a chance at the opportunity. Just seems strange to me, maybe they're waiting to see what she'll do."

Laughing and briefly lifting her beer in a toast to her, "To never havin' to deal with it indefinably, then," Jo toasts, inclining her head to Sabella and her drink. "The knot looks good on ya. Celebrate that proper with D'kan and Alida, eh? They'll be yer wingmates with ya, too." She'll clink if the bottles are raised together, then she settles back more comfortably once the knotting business is done and addresses the response on their wingleader. Her lips pert as she considers the other's words before she acknowledges them with a nod and a wry, "I'm sure there would be someone in the wing wantin' to step up. Always is. Sisha won' be actin' forever, so, maybe she's leavin' that can of worms to the one that'll really be runnin' things - once one of those queens rise up. In her position, that's what I would do."

She raises her bottle and clinks it off of Jo's accordingly. "Oh, are they now? I mentioned to you that they're both my wingseconds when they gave me Cirrus? They're solid." She can say easily. "Funny that we'd end up together all over again. And they say everyone goes their separate ways after graduation." She tips her beer back and takes a long swallow, pressing the glass up against her face. "Perhaps. She probably doesn't want to deal with what that involves, I wouldn't want to either. Not if I was just in there as a place holder. I probably wouldn't have even accepted it at all if I was here. But then that's me."

"Alida's good fun, but I dunno D'kan," Jo relates with a clink of her beer to Sabs'. "I like a girl that can drink as much as me. Ya'll see them a lot, at least, but, maybe not so much of the others. I hardly see my clutchmates, and I make an effort to run into Kait and M'ron, with them bein' in Equinox. Boreal seems to have gotten most of 'em, I noticed." On the acting Weyrleadership, the bluerider shakes her head and shrugs, finishing off her beer all at once before she speaks again. "Hear, hear," she agrees on that. "Not me, either. Doesn' seem like the incentives are good for any leadership in this place. Think I prefer my slippin' through the cracks unnoticed, personally. Ya an always join Tac and me, of course. I'm sure Canie and Sybile will be doin' their own thing, not bein' here. Hope ya been gettin' in some decent relaxation, cuz that knot means it's endin'," and she nods towards it. "More or less."

"D'kan is good. He was my Wingleader when I broke my arm, then I did him the favor back. I like him." There's a certain amount of respect and casual friendliness when she speaks of the other brownrider. Then comes an easy shrug as she slings back the rest of her beer, not moving to order another one. She doesn't drink quite so heavy as everyone else, but by now that's not so much of a surprise. "I saw that. Looks like your boyfriend made some deals to get the ones he wanted out of Quinlys, sneaky." She smiles slyly and then shakes her head. "We'll see. I got some business to get back into now that I'm not tethered down by weyrlinghood. And, the only reason this wing has been so busy was Taikrin doubling down on drills. Maybe she'll relax it now."

"Look forward to seein' what he's about then," Jo says on D'kan, setting her empty beer down. "From what I've observed of him, he don' seem the shady type, but I always think that ya gotta have somethin' in ya to get tapped into this wing." She snorts in amusement on Z'ian being sneaky, drawling back, "He seems to be in the deal-makin' business, ain' he? Betcher right, too. It does look curious, most of'em endin' up in his wing than the others - especially the ones that caused trouble in yer weyrlin'hood." She fishes in her jacket pocket for marks then, setting down enough to pay for both their drinks as she speaks on the last with laughter in her tone. "Oh, that? Before all that, most of us were skippin' drills left'n right. As long as ya showed up to one a month, they didn' give. I reckon it'll go back to that sooner or later. We all got business to do in that wing." She straightens before she gets to her feet, jerking her head towards the entrance as she adds, "Hey, wanna head somewhere livelier? We can stop by Greenfields and watch some morons beat each other up...cuz none of the good fighters like me are there, see," she has to clarify with a smile. "Unless ya got somewhere ya need to be, wingmate?"

She doesn't comment on what D'kan is or isn't in this circumstance. Maybe it's that she doesn't want to comment or perhaps she just doesn't have an actual answer for Jo in that regards. "Maybe he's got a thing for troublemakers. I mean, look who he hooked himself up with." And here Sabs gives the bluerider a significant look, complete with cocked eyebrow and half-smile. "Well, not that you're all done playing at being respectable riders we can return to business as usual. Just hope the next Weyrleader doesn't care what's going on with that." She pushes her empty glass to the side and gets to her feet, popping up alongside the other woman. "Not tonight. Tonight I'm your date to go see morons beat each other up. I'll buy when we get there." Her head jerks in the direction of the empty beers left on the table.

Jo tosses a look her way that doesn't even stick for her troublemaker comment before she states, "Dunno what yer talkin' about. I'm the picture of pure innocence around these parts." Yeah, she can't even say that with a straight face, and so she does stick her tongue out at her new wingmate. Straightening her jacket and giving the place a final look-around before she steps from the table, the comment on the new Weyrleader gets a loud snort and a, "Please. They'll have their hands full 'rightin' all the wrongs'n soothin' Lords to be sniffin' in our direction. Plus with Shani at our backs, I'd say we're golden." She has the confidence of one that thinks she knows the future. "It will be business as usual for us. Now, about those morons..." Of course Sabs is buying. Jo is not even contesting that as they leave for their old stomping grounds.
