| What: Hattie gives birth to twin girls and steps back from some of her duties, having Preita pick up some. |

| By morning of day 10, month 8, the rumours of the Weyrwoman having given birth to two baby girls, named Tabitha and Mimi (short for Merrion), were confirmed as true. Despite the fact that all are said to be doing well, word is that Hattie will be keeping to her reduced working day for the next few sevendays, and Preita will be taking over a lot of her usual duties for this short time. Those who work closely with Fort's goldriders might have every reason to be nervous, for this will be the first time that Preita has been put in-charge of so much of the day-to-day running of the Weyr. Is it a test? Who for? If it is for Fort's junior, will the notoriously vacuous goldrider pass it? Or might everything in the caverns be just a little (or very!) off-kilter for the next month? |
