| Z'ian had left for his parents'- his mother's cothold to spend two or three quiet days helping his brother get the place in order for spring. It had been an uneventful stay and he'd left Boreal in the capable hands of F'ren and Oisa in the meantime. Or so he thought. When he returned to High Reaches late in the afternoon, he was greeted with both of them already on his ledge waiting. He'd barely shaken his jacket off when they began to explain the last several days in a rush of words. "Zi- We didn't want to bother you." "I told him it was damn foolish, but he went alon-" "You could have gotten them to stop-" "And how with you undercutting my authority?" "What and you don't feel the same wa-" "That isn't what I said-" "Stop." Z'ian's hand came to his face and he held it across his mouth, looking between both Wingseconds for a long, heavy moment. "F'ren, dismissed. Oisa stay." He watched as the bluerider walked stiffly out of his weyr. His mind swam and he felt a distinct pit of anxiety develop in his stomach. Oisa stood there uncomfortably in the silence, eventually breaking it herself. "Now what?" "I want Lia and whoever else went along with this brought to me. We have to take care of this in wing, fast. Before it escalates out of control." He rubbed his forehead. "He's done. You get one more chance. Don't fuck it up." Muttering under his breath he passed the greenrider and went down the short passage to his bed chamber. « Welcome home, Weyrleader. » « Shut up. » |
