Thicket and bramble, thorn and strife: in midnight was this dragonet dreamt, and the darkness of the witching hour lingers to puddle the absolute loneliness of the canopy's floor to salient structures. Each curving neckridge terminates in inky jungle, the jumble of her soft chest lost to the dark, the stretch of long-toed paws stygian. The eccentricity of rust grimes an oxydized dorsal-stripe from withers to tail-tip, smudging along wing-bone and patterning along her haunches abstractly to muddle her belly. Above, her wings stretch wistful, lichen-limed and forest-forgotten, yearning for the smatter of golden rays that highlight the leading edge of her sails.
