Of course, when all was said and done that day and she was there with her blue dragon and her little bronze fire lizard, Jo had to make her report. She had many loyalties, and one would think it'd be a wonder that she managed to juggle them all with little concern.

Kimren and the Red Man could care less about the going-ons at the Weyr, so long as she was always available whenever they needed her, but the Greenfields gang did.

So, in leisure she had written her full report while Mime looked on, and since Mime was too young to be trusted, Tacuseth landed her in the bowl to seek out Dov and have him use one of their reliable firelizards to send the missive on.

When it landed on Lanvec's desk, it read as:

To my dearest uncles,

We did well at the hatching. You would be pleased to hear that our Canie, Sybile and Sabella had Impressed to a brown, a blue and a green. We did not get anyone on bronze this time around, but I think it would be wise to keep Pracor on at the Weyr. He may yet still prove useful. Lady Edeline's cousin had Impressed in the stands. There is a lot of discontent with this.

The acting Weyrwoman, Brieli, is really Aishani Vijay. She made the announcement after the hatching.

Mime is doing well. I've already begun his training. As always, I remain on watch. Our rider family has grown. I and the others will guide them well.

Your loyal niece,

Jolie

Perhaps he wouldn't notice what is said, and what isn't said.
