Description

Freckled skin and the occasional smattering of neatly-trimmed stubble, which could never form a proper beard, lend more of an approachability to the young man's face than any sense of unkempt disregard. Other contributing factors may include the thin mouth beneath his broad nose, wont to turn into an affable smile, rarely-perfect but not-quite-messy wavy black hair, and gentle light brown eyes, hazel in the right light. Aukiri is hardly imposing at that, more lean than strong, showing collarbones rather than muscle when shirts allow, and a tendency to hold his frame, of middling height, in an easy posture.

• Pretty well the only person who calls him Aukiri is his mother. The name Kiri, which he gives and by which he is known, would be common knowledge. His full name would not be, if only by force of usage.
• He currently travels with trader caravan Fayraz, specialising in tanning and the inspection of hides bought or sold.

History

For the longest time, Aukiri was the only child of Akhipin and Ruana of Katz Field Hold. Between the ages of 5 and 15, Kiri took some harper lessons, learned about runners, learned about the desert, learned about babies (when his brother Rukhara was born), did some classes at the Tanner hall without actually committing to anything, and, finally, decided to strike out on his own.

Kiri's solo turns have been spent mostly seeking out new places and people. His experience with the tanners has made him useful enough to earn him passage with various trader caravans, or room and board if the caravan should take a path that no longer interests him. Currently, he's in transit with Fayraz caravan, though how long this will last depends - as does so much else with Aukiri - on winds and whims. Anything he may learn on the way is just a bonus.
