As Month 5, Turn 32, High Reaches' leaders are [[Z'ian]] and [[Azaylia]]. Their leadership has thus far been stable; it remains to be seen if that will last.

Hraedhyth's flight brought to an end a long period of instability and Acting Leadership that can - in retrospect - be traced back as far as the ousting of former Weyrwoman [[Tiriana]], in Turn 28. In the intervening turns, there were a number of leadership teams:

:At eighty-five no one expected Lord Ustelan of Nabol to live for terribly much longer; the only real hope was that he would officially name an heir before he died. Instead, his wife went missing - with rumours of a pregnancy, and proof of an acknowledged heir-to-be-born - and, following his death, chaos ensued, with several claimants to the Hold unwilling to back down. With the harvest soon to come in, and no easy resolution in sight, there's every chance the Weyr will get drawn into this, too.

* Ways of getting RP include: sitting in public, asking on channel, paging a person in particular, and so on. All of these ways are valid.

* As a general rule, if a person is sitting in public, they're looking for RP. Quick Start

Welcome to HRW! This page is designed to sum up basic useful information about the area. Amendments and additions welcome!

Recent Events

  • Niahvth has risen - nearly a turn earlier than anticipated - to claim the Weyrleadership, and now Roszadyth has risen early, too. Despite the abbreviated length of Niahvth's flight, she clutched a full fifteen. What's up with High Reaches' queens, and is it going to keep happening? (PoC: Irianke, Farideh, HRWAdmin)
  • K'del was stabbed during Niahvth's flight. Does someone have something against him, or was it coincidence? What about the rest of Greenfields' troubles; is it targeted against that particular hold, instead? (PoC: HRWAdmin, Jo)
  • The herders have decided not to allow apprentices to be Searched. Is this the first in a trend? Will the Holds follow? (PoC: HRWAdmin)
  • ... and now official word is that the Weyr will not Search at Tillek. With two clutches on the way, is this even wise? (PoC: HRWAdmin, K'del, Irianke)

The Area

  • High Reaches has a climate roughly similar to Whistler, Canada - long, relatively cold winters, and nice-but-not-hot summers.
  • People dress accordingly (more details here).
  • There are a number of holds in our coverage area.
  • People get paid according to these rates (which aren't much - the Weyr feeds and clothes her residents, so pay is really for extras).

IC Leadership

Since Niahvth's flight, High Reaches' confirmed Weyrleaders are Irianke and K'del.

More details are available here.

OOC Leadership

High Reaches has a separation of IC and OOC leadership. Characters with IC rank do not necessarily have any more of an OOC leadership role than any other player.

The OOC admin team is presently: K'del and Leova.

While sometimes you may not be interested in playing with that person at a given time (you've played with them recently, for example), asking for RP on channel, or going to sit in public somewhere else, can come across as rude.
  • Don't just sit around waiting to be asked! While many players will ask, it is not anyone else's responsibility to get RP for you.
