Perfect Little Egg

This egg could very well be the ideal of all eggs. It's surface is lovely, smooth; an even shade of pale cream without a single blemish across the surface. The size and roundness of it is absolutely perfect, neither too big nor small. There are no obvious bumps or ridges to alter the contour of the shape either. In essence, it is perfect.

Impatience seems to take over as this egg shakes, shudders, and finally bursts in an explosion of chips and fragments. There on the Sands is left a wet dragonet... or is it? Looks like a pile of muddy goo... wait. No, it moved. Shaking off the extra egg goo, it starts with the nose and shakeshakeshakes all the way down to the tip of the tail. Yep, there's a Muddy Oil Slick Brown there after all.

Muddy Oil Slick Brown Dragonet

This brown's color is almost unnerving. His hide is not a nice hue at all. At first glance muddy, slick-looking, and glisteningly greasy, as if smeared with the slop and glop of the porcine pens. Dull at a distance, the 'oil' is actually a trick of the light, catching imperfections in his hide that appear as filmy, iridescent swirls. The swirls fade in and out over his body, most prominent around his left eye, across his thick chest and shoulders, and a large one on his right haunch. Under the shimmers, his hide is a creamy mid-range plain tawny brown. His form is smaller than other browns with a roundish belly, shorter tail and stubby legs. Handsome does not spring to mind at first. But take the time to get close and see, he's handsome, but only he knows it!

Humph. Really. The Muddy Oil Slick Brown Dragonet sits on his haunches staring up at HIS lifemate impatiently. How long must he wait? He's right here, after all. It's not like anyone could miss him sitting right in front of them, is it? Poke. Pokepoke. Nudge. Right in front of you, Conroy. Planted at your feet.

Inspiration

This egg was inspired by the TV Series Nip/Tuck. Based on one of the main themes of the show of perfection that everyone who comes to the doctors is trying to obtain, though what may be inside that perfect shell...very well may be FAR from perfect.
