Description
Even nearing 40, there's something perpetually boyish about L'sen. He's a big guy, about 6'3 and sturdily-built, and being a rider means he's only going a little pudgy about the middle. His once-shaggy blonde hair's cut short these days, but his teeth are as bright-white as ever in his open, honest face. He's a happy sort, that much is plain in the laugh lines around his blue eyes.

History
With his bright blonde hair and blue eyes, L'sen--then Lassen--fit in at his home hold of High Reaches quite well. His father is a master woodcrafter there, his mother a seamstress; all of his siblings still live there with their families, too. Lassen had a happy upbringing and is a happy person to a fault. He was sixteen when he came to the Weyr on a furniture delivery with his father. That was turn 4, and he's been hanging around ever since.
Of course, it wasn't too long after he arrived that he was searched, and he subsequently impressed blue Neiveth from Satiet's Teonath's first clutch. He still considers the prickly Weyrwoman to have been one of his best friends, though Faranth knows she always found his dimwitted ramblings a little exhausting. Still, it's hard not to like L'sen, who make up for being not the brightest glow in the Weyr by being the most talkative and good-natured person in a Weyr known for, well, neither of those, really.
Since he considers everyone his friend, L'sen has never been particularly good at romantic relationships; he's definitely more a friends-with-benefits sort of guy, with both men and women. He has a handful of children running around the caverns, though his oldest, Leysen, is the only one he's really raised more or less himself. L'sen's been telling everyone for years now that one day Leysen will impress and then they'll be Big L'sen and Little L'sen.
