Month 4
On the first really nice day of spring, an official holiday is called: a spring picnic. Anyone who can get away heads to one of the mountain meadows not too far from the weyr, where weyrfolk pick flowers and enjoy the sunshine and (relative) warmth.
So what if there might still be frost.
Month 10
Day 28
High Reaches' 'day of memories' is celebrated every turn on the 28th day of month 10. Traditionally, it has a lot to do with threadfall deaths, and allowing the weyr time to remember those lost; there may not be thread, now, but that doesn't mean there aren't people to remember.
There's no specific way to celebrate - or commemorate - this particular day. Some drink. Others talk. You do what you need to.
Month 13
Day 28
Like all of Pern, High Reaches celebrates Turnover (alternative name: Turn's End) on the last day of month thirteen. Celebrations vary according to turn; at present, the tradition is that in odd turns celebrations involve a skating party and bonfire by the lake, with fireworks at midnight, while in even turns there is a masquerade ball in the living caverns.
Many weyrfolk will spend part of their evening at High Reaches as well as attending celebrations across Pern. Given the time differences, it is possible to ring in the new turn several times over, if one is diligent.
Work on the 28th usually ends by early afternoon for most weyrfolk, though obviously some unlucky few are required to work in various roles, both for the celebrations and in continuing watches and sweeps according to normal schedules. Those who do need to work receive time off in lieu either before or after the event. The first day of month 1 is also a holiday for many.
