Of late, gossip among the caverns staff has begun to suggest that either the Weyrwoman is back to her old habits of working through the night and to the point of absolute exhaustion, or she's just... not quite with it. Many eyes have gone to Elaruth, to look for the telltale glow across the pale queen's hide, for it's well known that Hattie's concentration and attention to detail vanish when Elaruth is soon to rise, but there's no sign that the Weyr's senior queen is anything but her usual self, keeping primarily to the company of greens and blues - and her mate. And while Hattie continues to exhibit moments of confusion and obvious lapses in memory, her staff seem to be keeping a closer eye on her than usual, which, predictably, only irritates her more than her own failings.
