Girls' Night Out Egg

The second egg comes with much of the impatience of the first; Lhiannonth doesn't have much time to bury the last before she shuffles aside to lay a distinctly two-toned egg.

There's no blending in this egg, the two colors distinct and divided evenly over the surface. Split neatly in half from top to bottom, one side offers the intricacy of beading along the leathery shell - iridescence found in the sheen of an off-white base mixed intermittently with exceedingly pale gold. Painted curtains, gauzy and light seem to hang low into this patchwork of silvery beads and exude gracious elegance oft found in the confidence of well-bred ladies. A sensual swirl of crimson neatly separates the white from the other half of the egg: a brilliant and eye catching pink. In this side, a cascade of varying shades of rose seem to flounce gaudily in the swish of color that descends like ruffles. No doubt, the color is cheerful, the artwork enthusiastic, and while it lacks the intricacy of its more genteel half, there's a certain charisma captured in this vibrantly pink side.

In forced, timed and violent seizes, Girls' Night Out Egg slowly cracks- until the force of one seize tosses Can't Take The Sky Blue out and a few feet away from his egg. Whah! He turns his head around towards the candidates and then the crowd, suddenly throwing his face into the sand in embarrassment. He didn't do that.

Can't Take the Sky Blue

Sky blue tones cloak this young dragon's lithe body. His jaw and muzzle are square, his neck long, and his body long and lean. Small eyeridges and headknobs make his eyes look larger, their reflections of his emotions left unshadowed and easy to perceive. His wings wide and powerful, though he tends to keep them tucked back, hiding their true span. His coloring fades and deepens between shades of sky and darker azul along his body, legs, and wings with no apparent pattern, the overall effect reminding one of the shapelessness and randomness of clouds on a blue sky.

Temperament

Whuaith is now in your life, Felix, and you will know discipline! Respect! Fortitude! ...sometimes. When he's in the mood, or when someone's arguing with him. Whuaith has inborn leadership aspirations, but the bossy attitude really only surfaces when he's got a mission or an objective. When things need to get done, you'll find Whuaith there, ready to do them, and urging you on as well. Not that you're not incredibly dedicated to your Smithing, anyway. Whuaith will respect that and believe in your innate abilities when others don't.

Once Whuaith judges someone as worthy of his respect- whether person, dragon, or otherwise- that lucky being will find that Whuaith is fiercely loyal. Those of his wing, his clutch; those he interacts with on a regular basis and grows to love, those will all become part of Whuaith 'crew'. When they are down, when they need help, when they are in trouble, Whuaith will be there immediately.

You may find that Whuaith befriends and grows loyal to those that you would not expect. Outcasts, rebels, those that society for some reason has overlooked. Whuaith has great capacity for understanding humanity and dragonkind. In that way, he will affect you and help you to see that you also can love in this way. It may not be immediately apparent to you -why- he's chosen these people, but you will always know he is behind their backs, protecting them. There is always a reason, and eventually you may come to understand it.

While it is all good if someone else has made the plans, when Whuaith formulates his own missions, his own objectives, you may find that they seem outrageous or risky. There will come many times when you may question just what he was thinking, or how he could possibly come to that ridiculous conclusion. This is the only thing that will hinder him from leadership positions, and he may learn from mistakes (though it will take some time.)

Eventually, when Whuaith has learned much, he will choose the sides of arguments that, no matter how radical, will benefit humanity now and will satisfy him. While he may not ALWAYS dwell on the difference between traditional expectations and new thinking, he will nevertheless pick something important to him to stand behind in that way will be known as a believer.

You will find that Whuaith, during weyrlinghood, will push himself (and you) into leadership roles where ever he can find them. This may not always mean wingleader or wingsecond if there are other ways to lead. He will often try and set what he considers good examples during classes. However, when something from Weyrlinghood seems old, tired, and pointless, he will point that out and question it. Whuaith is not completely about change, but he is about what makes the most sense and helps the most people. This will show during classes that incorporate busy work, or that have no application to life in an Interval. There will be a lot of change needed to satisfy him. Because of his want to question, Whuaith may come across to the WLM staff as someone who does not respect authority. This is not strictly true- Whuaith questions rules and traditions, which will cause him to question authority. However, he respects the theory of the chain of command, even if that doesn't come across while he's at the bottom of it. This also explains why he aspires to gain rank.

The life of a rider in an Interval is quite different, and it will soon become apparent how bored Whuaith is with what he is traditionally expected to do. Why should someone agree to do drills hours upon hours each day when no Thread will fall? Why not do something more productive to mankind? He will ask these questions, if only because he does not stand for something that does not benefit everyone. Why shouldn't you be allowed to pursue your dream of Smithing? It makes no sense that such a great talent should go to such waste. He will encourage you to pursue your talent, and even in adulthood will seem to defy leadership (this can lead to problems, since Whuaith will never truly be at the top).

One thing he may never understand is the argument that the dragons need to be prepared in 200 turns when Thread falls again. Because of his dragon memory he will have a hard time comprehending so far into the future.

Whuaith is not one who will ever fully understand greens. Most of them- the feminine motherly type that fall for little fuzzy cute things- will not peak his interest. He does not find an ability to mother an attractive thing, mostly because he will never be a clutchfather, and he understands this. He's not unhappy that he will never have children. The type of green that strikes his interest will be an intelligent one, a witty one, someone with more than fluffy pink frills on her mind. His type of flirting is that of witty banter, with each succession of small insults his heart fluttering faster.

This will affect who he chases, and in that respect he may seem picky. He'll leave the ones he finds unattractive to others. In the same vein, you may find that he'll have nerves for his first few flights, bowing out before time has come for a catch. He'll deny it, but it will be apparent. This may also happen if he hasn't caught in a long time. Greens daunt him until he has experience. When he catches a green he finds truly attractive, he will throw great passion into the catch.

Public Impression Message

With an odd uptilt of one eyeridge, the other jeweled eye narrowed into a lopsided expression of thoughtful musing, the Can't Take the Sky Blue slinks his neck low and sweeps it from side to side in slow little arcs. That he readies to pounce, making his decision known to the world, is betrayed in the steady shift of his limbs back and forth, the youthful muscles tightening up along his back haunches to cause his tail to turn completely tense and straight. Then, with commanding purpose infused into his movements, the cerulean blue stalks after and then stops in front of a pale blonde girl.

Private Impression Message

The heat of the sands fades quickly and becomes coldness, darkness, blackness. Stars wink in and out of existence in front of your eyes, as though you have become lightheaded. « Who are you? » The voice seems distant at first, turns away, way out into the black. « I am Whuaith, and you are Felix, my Smith. Welcome to the 'verse. » The warm voice is now next to you, within you, and the heat of the sands comes back into focus. « Let's find a job to do. »

Mindvoice

Whuaith has a warm voice, a deep voice, a voice that is capable of both harsh penalty and deep loving. It is colored with darkness, blackness, shades of the night sky peppered with stars and the moon. You may also find that his choice of words may sometimes be unusual or strange to you, « Ain't that just poetical? » They might remind you of some sort of accent, though nothing that anyone can pinpoint.

Dragon Inspirations

Your Whuaith is based off of Captain Tightpants aka Mal from the cult hit _Firefly_.

Egg Inspiration: "Shindig" an episode of Joss Whedon's Firefly includes in it a ballroom scene where Inara is dressed in a gorgeous gown of translucent fabric, gauzy lace and intricate beading in pale gold and white. At the same function, however, there was a markedly different dress, a bright pink affair that spoke of anything -but- grace and elegance. Still, many adore Kaylee and her country bumpkin ballgown. This egg is a mix of these two differing women and dresses.
