Diving Cliff, High Reaches Weyr Thrusting out from the shadow of the mountain, this long and narrow clifftop might once have been a ledge, but a pile of bramble-strewn, graffiti-chiseled boulders where a weyr's mouth would have been suggests a reason for its abandonment long ago. Though its views of the eastern bowl are grand, particularly the lake itself and the yawning air entrance to the hatching sands, its location makes the diving cliff unique: jutting some ten or twelve feet above the deepest part of the cool, clear lake. Especially in summertime, many climb up the narrow stairs to seek the thrill of a swift fall into the water, but those who just want to enjoy the view can take those same stairs back down: carved directly into the bowl wall, worn and crumbling and slick from use, but enough for the careful to get the job done.

Because it's only fitting, it's late when Ahruth glimmers in the peripheral of his mother's mind, peeking in first to see if he wakes her. If so, he's apologetic about intruding, but he's going to anyway. His request is simple, please could Aishani meet E'sren at the cliff near the lake? There's a sense that it isn't just his rider waiting there, and whenever the Weyrwoman finds her way to the meeting spot she'll notice not one, but two Renais. Seamus, E'sren's brother, is maybe an inch less in height and instead of E'sren's agreeable expression he wears a serious, businesslike face. He nods to acknowledge her arrival, while his older brother smiles and lifts a hand to cock it in greeting. Hey.

It's likely unsurprising that Aishani and Iesaryth both keep late hours; the Weyrwoman has a lot to do and the queen has much to think about, so there's certainly enough to occupy them well into the evening. There's a wash of salt water, foamy with easy agreement - she'll be there, soon enough. And she is, and is forewarned about company - though perhaps, when Aishani sees that it's not their mother, her shoulders drop almost perceptibly. One less thing to worry about, for now. Business for business - as she approaches, as well-dressed as always, she has a brisk nod for Seamus, a flicker of her sharp gaze over him, and a lift of her hand in return for his brother. "Evening," she offers, along with a faint smile. "Good to see you." Both, in one piece, perhaps goes without saying.

Likewise E'sren doesn't mention anything about hey look, his brother's still alive. Seamus adopts a calm arms-folded stance and glances at E'sren, who takes the cue. "Thanks. It's good to see you too. So Seamus went over everything with me so I've already heard this, so I'll just kind of let him tell you what he, uh... heard." His turn to glance at Seamus, and the younger Renai lifts his eyebrows, oh him?, and turns his dark gaze on the Weyrwoman to report. "Yeah they don't like you guys very much."

Sliding hands into pockets, Aishani glances from E'sren to Seamus, her own fine brows lifted a touch, ready to listen. At the younger trader's intro, she lapses from cool neutrality into something more like a resigned smirk. Tell her something she doesn't know. "Right. One heir on K'del and Tiriana's watch, and one on mine and Taikrin's, I'm guessing. Unless there's something we did I don't know about?" Better to know than not.

"Is that the kid who Impressed? Because I heard a lot of people talking about that, yeah. I mean overall it was actually really nice. They had great food, good music, everyone was happy. I wish I'd had the wagon because we would have turned some good profit." For this Seamus and his brother grin at each other, the former breaking his otherwise stoic demeanor, and they suddenly look related. "Let's see, people are a little weird about the groom because of where he comes from, Crom didn't turn up, but Nabol did. A lot of people are speculating about Lady Edeline's heir, and yeah. They hate the Weyr's guts. One of the musicians started singing a song about it, and everyone left. Almost everyone. I stuck around."

"N'gan, yes. He's the one who Impressed. The one long ago... that I don't know as much about, but it was her son and it was the Weyr's fault." Not Aishani's fault, certainly not at that point in time, hell no. She quirks a faint smile to see the pair grin at each other, but her gaze is a little distant - thinking. "Because of where he comes from, not because of any sort of unsavory behavior on the part of his relatives? And Crom didn't. Interesting. Is there any popular theory about the Lady's heir?" And there's a pause before, reluctantly, "Which song?"

There's not a lot of recognition of the name from Seamus, understandably, but E'sren's brow furrows while they spend some time considering N'gan, another silver weyrling. "Holders work a lot differently from us," Seamus comments, slightly perplexed by it all. "At least the major Holds do, not Uncle Reimus's," E'sren adds, and his brother nods oh, yeah, true. Turning to Aishani's questions, Seamus is thoughtful as he reflects back, his eyes narrowing. "Nothing specific about his family, no. I don't think anyone really knows much about him other than he's an exile, and that's enough for them, but since he hasn't kidnapped anyone yet I guess they're okay with it. As far as the heir goes, things seemed a little all over the place, a lot of people think it couldn't be the daughter because she's only a baby, some others were standing up for it, some were talking about having a cousin come in. And uh, something about the wings. Something something on dragon's wings." He starts to hum a tune for one of the more common Weyr songs, which E'sren picks up on, which leads them into humming together but then one of them strikes a different chord and they pause, grinning.

With a purse of her lips, "I... can't say that I entirely understand them. Even with the time at Crom. Perhaps it's time to go back, now that it's less of an issue." Aishani's gaze stays on Seamus as he explains, taking in the words, the inflection. "And unsurprising that. That they wouldn't know much about the exiles, their past. It's to their benefit." Not that she can judge - she just says it in the same tone as everything else, weighing, considering. Then, a brief grin. "Ah, one of the traditional ones. Not... yes. I get it." There's a moment before she tells the younger man, sincerely, "Thank you. If there's anything I can do, please let me know." She glances E'sren's way - surely it's been passed on, but it still ought to be said.

Moving on, Seamus puts on his serious face again and dips his head, touching fingers to brow in a salute of sorts. "No worries there, Miss. I'm sure you'll be hearing from us on that score soon enough." He also looks at his brother so they're both looking at E'sren now, then Seamus is murmuring a soft good night and making his exit past Aishani with his hands in his pockets and whistling that same traditional song. Just like that he's gone, leaving E'sren with his Weyrwoman. He hesitates for a second before he says, "Ma wants to meet with you. She said." She said, so that he can't be held responsible.

Glancing over her shoulder briefly as the trader heads down from the cliff, that whistle dying out in the darkness, Aishani notes, "I expect that she might regardless. It's generally the way things are done. I've actually been remiss in visiting." But given rumors, maybe the once-Vijay, always-Vijay giving the Renais a bit of space was wise. But now, looking back to E'sren with a lift to her chin, "But I'd guess this is more formal." Her lips quirk again; as much as these things are. "I'd think it easier if I come to her, yes?"

E'sren gets it, so says his little smile. And it might just be that his mother gets it too, and that's why she's chosen now to send her son to make her a meeting with the once-Vijay, always-Vijay. Which he's doing with a lot more finesse than might have been expected. "It happens. Um... yeah, probably. She mentioned tomorrow being good." And the way he makes a mention sound, Siobhan has a way of mentioning things. "But I can let her know if that doesn't work. She's almost always at the lake now, they're gonna be on their way soon so she's making preparations for that." He pauses, his forehead wrinkling like it does when he's not sure about saying something. "Are we okay? I mean with the Tillek stuff?"

Not bothered by the way the meeting might have been 'mentioned', at least outwardly, Aishani can find a grin. "As it happens, I'm almost always here. I can find some time tomorrow to come back down to the lake, certainly. If it's another clear day..." She turns her gaze skyward, glossy curls spilling back over her shoulders, meaning clear; twist her arm. Not yet looking down, she asks E'sren, "Are you all right with their going? I suppose now's the time, the summer gathers..." The money to be made. His last though, brings her back down to earth - with a blink, puzzled, "Of course. Why would we be otherwise?"

There's a nod for her agreement, for the comment on the weather, but E'sren doesn't follow her glance up to the sky. He's still watching her with that odd, concerned face on, as she enjoys the view. Either he doesn't have a reply for her right then for his feelings on his family leaving or he doesn't want to get sidetracked. There's a focused one-wayedness about him sometimes and this is a fine demonstration. "You're the one who sent my brother to spy on them," he replies, with a little smile to lighten it up. "I'm just asking. I don't know a lot about this stuff yet, what everything means. The politics games."

"Oh. Well. That might have gotten nothing, might have gone worse. Getting out clean and with information - what do I have to complain about, really? He didn't have to go." And E'sren didn't have to ask him, but Aishani's been over that already. With a wry little smile, "You don't necessarily have to know. And... it's not a game." She's suddenly rather sober over that, and just shakes her head a little. "It's all fine. Appreciated, even. But it's late, and we've both early mornings." She nods towards the lake, starting in that direction already.

"I know he didn't have to go," is gently said. Even if they all know he knew and she knew and there was all of the knowing. E'sren is still wearing that little smile, maybe moreso now that she's smiling too, and it remains even after she sobers. It might be that he just really doesn't know. A minor detail he must plan on changing, suggested by, "Maybe you can show me how it all works. Sometime." He's easy with cues, taking hers now by following after, his hands still in his pockets he matches her pace and quietly talks to her about other subjects, ones that don't make her smiles go away.
