Tanashi
Description
With the somewhat gangly, seemingly too-thin and too-long-limbed frame typical of most teens, it's obvious that Tanashi hasn't yet hit his full growth. His head is topped with tousled, straight brown hair that looks as if it has never seen a comb in its life, only fingers. An oval face is apparently one-third brow, the rest of his features mostly symmetrical and more-or-less pleasant in combination. Straight eyebrows above brown eyes, a straight -- if slightly large -- downward pointing nose and a thin-lipped mouth that closes over even teeth.
He has not escaped that bane of teenagerdom, acne spots making frequent appearances upon chin, brow and occasionally nose.
He wears clothing suitable to the season and climate. He likes to layer his shirts, a plain fitted one beneath a colorful, too-large one, the sleeves left uncuffed so that his hands remain mostly covered. His trousers are always dark, though the observant might still notice faint lines where the hems have been lowered after the latest growth spurt.

History
Tanashi is a weyrbrat from Monaco, son of bronzerider N'tan and greenrider Ashia, the result of a mating flight. Feckless and spoiled, he has a somewhat inflated sense of his own importance due in large part to his heritage. Tracing dragonriders back in his bloodline through many generations, he has little pragmatism about the realities of life, convinced that he will one day join their numbers himself. This belief put a block on what feeble attempts were made to encourage him into a specific skill set; apprenticing was 'pointless' and anything else just 'passing time.'
It's only now that he's nearing his majority that his parents have seemed to realize just what a useless son they have, neither of them having been particularly involved in the actual raising of him. That was left to non-rider cousins and Weyr nannies. In something of a last-ditch effort to pound some responsibility into him, his father arranged a late apprenticeship (of sorts) for him under the tutelage of his aunt, Talyna, a Baker at High Reaches Weyr. The hope being that his usual tricks won't serve him in a place so far away he has no connections; no friends to cover for him, no knowledge of who he can bribe or sweet-talk into looking the other way.
