| It's a cold evening up on the stones, which means the only pair present at this moment is the watchrider.....and Jo. Tacuseth can be seen as a dark blue sillouette next to the brown watchdragon while his black leathered lady is found further down looking out at the view. She has her fire lizard, Mime, with her - perched before her on the edge and looking like he's about to fly Between. When Solith blinks out of nothingness, it's not so far overhead. Why she slows, that might not be in question, not with Tacuseth; why she descends far enough to land, though, that might be-- along with why her rider slips down and navigates the starlit trail down towards Jo. She doesn't hurry down; there's no rush; no impatience-- and maybe something like politeness, giving the bluerider and her firelizard time. Mime launches right when Solith winks in, the little flit just a clip of blue being illuminated by the faint moonlight as he goes Between. Jo doesn't move or lean back from her spot on the stones, and when Solith arrives her blue immediately rumbles his greeting. One can be sure that dragon has communicated with rider as Telavi walks toward her, though she doesn't yet turn her head to acknowledge. Solith, for her part, settles pleasantly with the other dragons, still flexing her wings for warmth and residual excitement. As for her rider... it's unnecessary, of course, but when she's near enough to Jo, Telavi pauses to slide her boot firmly along a pebble that might look as though she's trying to squish it when really she just makes it fall. Call it 'hello.' One can be sure that the trio of dragons are conversing about anything that suits them while the watchrider leans forward to wave at Telavi. "Hey, Tela," Jo speaks finally, her head turning to send her that greeting. "Where did'ja just get in from?" Telavi does return that wave, and brightly enough at that, if after the moment that must be Solith's prompting; after that glance her gaze stays with Jo, though, as she makes up the distance between them. "Fort," she says. "The first clutch, it's going to hatch soon... What about you?" Nodding, "Ya don' say?" Jo states on Fort's clutch. "Ya got some bets on'em? Went over to make sure yer wagers are secure?" Slight teasing, there, heard in her voice before she shifts her weight from one foot to the other as she answers back with a shrug, "About to head out soon, actually. Got some errands that can' wait till mornin'. But really, how have ya been, Telavi?" She openly looks the greenrider over briefly before meeting her gaze once more. "Haven' run into ya in a while." "You could say that," Telavi says lightly, and with the genuine smile for Jo that the watchrider didn't get-- just not for long, even for Jo, not with her breath making a pale plume in the cold. "Whispering sweet nothings to the eggs. I've been all right," and she poses to exaggerate her silhouette. "Staying out of trouble. All my errands can wait for me, for once, even the not-so-little ones that need to practice night flight." "Ya'll have to tell me all about it once they do hatch, eh?" Jo states wryly to her smile, her own lopsided. "That's good, that yer alright. Thought maybe ya'd been keepin' busy with K'zin or somethin'," and her gaze turns slightly pointed there. "That is what they call 'securing our wagers' these days, isn't it?" Telavi asks, the more ingenuously for Jo's pointedness, dimples nearly showing. Laughing quietly to her answering question, "I suppose so," Jo states, shaking her head. "Didn' think ya were that much into wagerin'. Ya know of their candidates, then? Whatcha reckon on who gets what?" "Only in the right cause." Telavi gives her an impish look, then notes, "That would be telling. Is there anything you wouldn't wager on, Jo? At least, that you'd tell me..." "I'm not wagerin' this time," Jo counters smoothly. "Even if I wager on a lot. Is it really a secret?" Curiosity, maybe. Amusement, definitely. "There's 'not' and then there's 'would not,'" Telavi feels the need to point out; the silver threads really did do a number on her, if that wasn't there for the polishing already. "Well, you know, when you know someone who knows someone who knows something," and isn't that a pretty, elliptical shrug. "More like a 'don' need to'," Jo answers that first almost dryly with a side long look going her way. "I'm not all that versed in the affairs of Fort, beyond K'zin winnin' that flight. I suppose he's the first someone?" "Business is that good, hm? Congratulations," Telavi says sincerely before glancing about, all mock-surreptitious complete with a hand to her lips. "What, Jo? You know?!" The laughter is louder this time. "Ain' got nothin' to do with business, darlin'," Jo notes with a shake of her head. "And yeah, I take a guess. Unless ya know those candidates or somethin'." Telavi really does try to look penitent, if melodramatically so; "I confess, Jo, it's true. It's all true." Turn her in to the authorities! There's a chuckle at the dramatics as Jo straightens up and starts to fasten up her black jacket. Since no other information comes forth, the bluerider stepping back as she says, "Well then, good luck with that, Tela. Hope ya reap well from it come hatchin'." "Mm, and your not-business too," Tela agrees. "Your errands. Clear skies," and with that she starts back for Solith and those weyrlings and that night flying. Which isn't to say that she doesn't look back. "Uh-huh," Jo says as she starts for Tacuseth, the dragon already waiting with a limb out. "Clear skies, Tela." She watches the greenrider leave before she herself take to the skies and Between in moment. On to the next. |
