As K'zin's probably figured out by now, Jo is not one of those easy to track down - especially after the most recent flight - so when she suddenly arrives on his ledge with straight-faced coordinates for them to follow, she must be making the assumption that they'll follow. This is serious business, after all. Where do those coordinates lead to, however? None other than some seedy brothel down in Nerat. She scores them a table in one of the shadowy corners of the room, and then gets them drinks as the ladies and men of the evening swirl around them. More than few are likely eyeing up the Taiga wingrider - both men and women, even - and when Jo returns with their drinks, "Haven' seen ya since yer graduation," she notes, settling down not quite in front of him as she starts downing her beer. As if she hasn't been around much herself. "Hope I didn' interrupt any plans ya may have had tonight." Well, she's not that sorry for it, by the sound of her tone and the flash of that grin.

Follow he did. K'zin's expression even manages to stay contained to bland neutrality after a brief moment of surprise after sorting out just what type of establishment Jo's brought him to. K'zin's eyes roam from that table in the shadowy corner. He makes eye contact with a few of the ladies and men both, eyes roaming along forms as well as the the room at large. He's not distracted, however, there's restraint in his manner and in the way he demurs from conversation with the employees. "Yeah. Been trying to find time. Ras has me working overtime with Tiaga. Apparently the actions of some are extending to all, and we've got reputations to overcome by being from the same class. "The plans I had are less important than this." He waves a hand to the room and to Jo herself. "No need for twinges of remorse. Dare I ask if we're here for pleasure or...?" He's assumed one, the latter, the unspoken, but it never hurts to ask if he should be making selections instead of schooling his focus.

"Well, I'm not sorry," Jo, duplicitous and not apologizing. "Yer likin' Taiga? It's more yer style? If it's pleasure yer needin' tonight," she now answers his question, jerking her head towards the passing eye candy. "Though, I wouldn' try to pick any of these up, and ya'll see why. Ya'd want a better establishment than this one." There must be some reason why she asked him here though, and so, meeting his gaze, "So. Thought we might have some education tonight, if ya don' wanna try yer hand at one of the ladies. Or one of the men." She takes a sip.

"Nope." K'zin lets the word be drawn out with emphasis on the 'p', letting the sound pop from his lips. "K'del's trying to make a good pair of us. Intimated something to Rasavyth about F'manis not staying Wingleader forever. But that was back when K'del surely thought he'd have the Weyrleader knot back in no time." His shoulders roll, "Still, there's a game to be played and perhaps prizes to be won, so we'll play it." His eyes follow to the eye candy, "I don't much fancy the idea of paying for something I can get for free. If I was in want of pleasure, you can bet I'd ask you before them." It's not a serious offer though, from the way his lips curl with mild amusement. "So how will you be educating me tonight? We-" Rasavyth and he, "-are very curious." He leans a touch toward the bluerider, gazing at her intently over the edge of his mug.

"And he clearly doesn'," Jo notes on K'del and the Weyrleader knot. "I wonder his faction's doin' with all that, but it's been pretty quiet since." She nurses her drink while K'zin speaks on the pleasure about them, his comment earning him a huff of sardonic laughter and a "The owner of this place brings in lots of marks, so surely such pleasure aren' that easy to get for free by all. Unless this is yer bronzeridin' ego on display right now," especially when it comes to him getting her, her amused tone seems to say. But then there's educating, and she leans back with her arm over the back of the chair to look about before she gestures with her long finger. "What do ya see here?" she chooses to ask instead, her dark gaze watching the bronzerider. "Do ya see the exchange of pleasure happenin' around us, or somethin' else?"

"He's been acting very normal with the wing." K'zin supplies his limited knowledge with a shrug. "We've not really talked at length about it though." After he sips on his beer, he bats his lashes at Jo, practically making goo-goo eyes at her, "Are you telling me you don't want a piece of this bronzer? I'm crushed. How will I ever survive the rejection." His tone is flat, deadened, and dull. It makes for good comic contrast from the choice of words he uses. "Tela and I are back on again. Since graduation." In case that helps fill in some of the blanks of what he's said so far. Then he's asked to apply his critical thinking. His eyes turn around the room more slowly now. "Looks like it to me." Exchange of pleasure, "Ras says I'm missing a lot." He starts to look 'round again, slower.

"Not surprised to hear, I guess," Jo comments on K'del, nodding. "That's good, but I expected it. Unfortunate for Taikrin and anyone that tries the same thing she did, though." K'zin's batting of eyelashes brings a sort from her and a low chuckle, her drawled response being, "I'm sure yer not that hard up that one rejection would kill ya. Apparently, women toss their panties at anyone that rides bronze." Apparently. "Yer back with Tela, huh? How is she?" for evidently, she hasn't been seeing the greenrider in a long while. But then she looks about them, pointing out a table where a man is sandwiched in between two ladies. It's obvious what one woman's doing with her hand on his lap, moving more than it should with her lips on his ears while the other woman's liplocked with his mouth. Her hand is moving, too. Easily, it looks like a simple situation of heated, openly-public displays as Jo says, "Tell me what ya see, besides the obvious."

There's only a grunt from K'zin to the matter of K'del, Taikrin, and all. It's not enough to give any clues about his feelings on the whole mess that's been for so long. "She's good, mostly. Adjusting to being in Z'ian's wing. It wasn't what she'd been hoping for." If there's more he could say about Telavi, he doesn't. Instead, he turns his attention to the table in question. He watches them carefully. "A good time?" He guesses wryly, "What am I supposed to see?" Apparently, he doesn't have a good answer for the bluerider's request.

"What wing did she want to be in?" Jo is drawn to ask, frowning slightly. Then, with drink in hand, she turns toward the table she brings to his attention, his answer probably being expected since she says, "Of course. That's what they want ya to see. That's what they want him to feel. Female ardor can be a heady distraction." If K'zin watches further, the woman kissing the man moves her arm from him suddenly, something cloth-like in her fist and as quick that one could easily have missed it. Jo doesn't though, the woman chuckling before bringing attention to it with, "Saw that? They just took him for all he's worth. She's gone through all of his pockets while he's focused on her lips and gettin' off by the other one. In five minutes, dependin' on when he does get off, they'll both leave him there and split the theft amongst themselves somewhere in the back." How does she know?

"Snowdrift. Don't know if she does anymore, but..." K'zin shrugs his shoulders. His eyes follow the movements of the women, paying less attention to the man in the equation. He would've missed it, were it not for Jo, but not because he didn't see it, but because he didn't recognize it for what it was. A single brow lifts, impressed. "Damn." That's all he has to say about that and his eyes start shifting around the room, perhaps in search of other such happenings now that he's seen the one for what it is.

Jo nods, seeming to file away that tidbit on Telavi since she doesn't ask anything else on her. Instead, she turns to the task at hand with her beer, watching him watch the women before she states, "Seduction can be a potent distraction. Those women sell the dream that he can have both of them at once, while at the same time, they fleece him from under his very nose. Do ya think it's wrong? When the man allows himself to be fooled, and they are merely takin' that advantage?" Dark eyes cut to another table not too far off right then, showing three men playing at cards. A blonde, busty barmaid is lingering around the one wearing the dusty red coat, eyeing his hand of cards over his shoulder while she goes around slowly and serves the men their drinks. She does murmur personally to each man as she sets the drink down, but her gaze seem to linger more often than not on the dusty red coat man. Jo looks to K'zin with expectation, drawing his attention towards that particular table next.

Is it wrong? The question draws K'zin's eyes back to the bluerider, looking a little surprised, as though he hadn't thought of it in those terms yet. "I don't know," is the immediate answer he has to offer. He'll have to think on it, to provide something more satisfying by way of answer. But there isn't time for that just now, there's a new table to observe. "Is she helping him win or helping him lose?" He takes a stab at the 'what' of what's really going on there.

"Somethin' to think about, hm?" Jo notes when K'zin does answer, nodding anyway as if the answer was acceptable. Still, she's directing him to another table, downing her beer and leaning back into a Faranth-may-care posture in the seat as she answers him on the card table. "Some would say both," she says, wry. "It's subtle, the way she gives every man there the same movements and the same amount of attention." Further observation shows that the dusty red coat man loses the game and the woman is back by him as he slams his hand of cards down, passing him open comfort in the way her hand touches his back and the way she smiles down at him before she heads off. "She's fleecin' him too, of course," she answers now, after that. "Give her almost a second to peep his cards before she transfer signals to the other men at the table. Could be what she's murmuring to each, though, it would be hard to tell since she murmurs to the loser, too. I only point this out to ya cuz, ya wanna know what sort of world we live in. Even though so far, I've only shown ya the duplicity of women." She finds humor in that, draining her beer before she turns to try and flag down one of the 'duplicitous' barmaids. While doing so, "Brought ya here to observe, and ask the questions ya want since I haven' given ya much time to do so these days," she adds, looking back at him. Questions, she's expecting.

K'zin proves to be a disappointment where questions are concerned. He usually is. That's the trouble with having a dragon ready to provide answers to most questions that would be considered simplistic. "It's the observing I need. Ras keeps me from asking stupid questions. No need to ask them twice, he says." Which isn't to say that he never has questions for Jo. It's just, that when he does, it's usually after a lot of reflection on what they've discussed and when his lifemate can't provide a suitable forum for discussion and resolution. His eyes range across the room. He can find at least one question for her, "This kind of thing happen at the Weyr?"

Jo nods to that and orders her next beer, seeming unconcerned either way on the lack of questions. She's seeming to focus more on the eye candy now, though when he asks the last, "Happens anywhere, darlin'," she answers swiftly, looking his way. "The Weyr ain' as special as some like to think. Ya see what happened with Taikrin. With Iolene. With I'kris. Nowhere's safe. Someone will always try to take advantage if the opportunity presents itself. If you present the opportunity to be taken advantage of. At least here, folks accept this sort of thing. At the Weyr?" There's a snort and shake of her head before she adds, "It'll be fuckin' subtle. A smile in the face with a knife at the back."

"Show me subtle." K'zin requests. The lessons to be had tonight are many. Even in this place where some work of shadows happens where there are none to obfuscate the more obvious, there are subtleties to be observed and much to be thought upon. K'zin isn't the best conversation partner, but he's the most attentive an apprentice a master could want.
