The morning of Day 22 of Month 3 dawns bright, crisp, and clear. And while there is not a cloud in the sky, there is apparently a storm that has already brewed and broken out in the lower caverns. Anyone seeking to break their fast will not find the usual meal waiting for them; nothing at all has been cooked! Nothing has been cleaned. No glows have been refreshed. It isn't long until Headwoman Shevena informs Weyrwoman Lilah that her people are on strike, though it does not seem as if it comes with a list of demands. Or if it does, Lilah is not saying what, exactly, they have demanded, but that Shevena spent the rest of the morning with the former Weyrwoman Hattie--. Whether or not she cleared it with her Acting Weyrleader, a command goes out quickly to the wings, ordering them to report directly to Lilah for temporary work assignments rather than drills. Any rider who does will find themselves quickly shoved into one of the lower cavern positions. Even E'dre must agree that they somehow need to be fed, right? Even if there might already be mumbles about the new Acting Weyrwoman overstepping too far into the wings that are not under her purview.
