News out of Healer Hall is tentative but good. It seems anyone who has caught the sickness and survived will not get infected again. At least not from the plague\\\, though many who get it have a compromised immune system for a while. Preparations at Fort Weyr had been underway for days when their fears are realized on day 8\\\, month 4. Not only riders\\\, but also the family of some of those affected have begun to turn up in Fort Weyr's infirmary to tick off the list of symptoms noted by the healers as being ''the'' illness. Some who arrive are sicker than others from the start\\\, perhaps most notably Junior Weyrwoman Dahlia who was brought in by brownrider R'oan after fainting in the hot springs\\\, delirious with her high fever and showing the rash. That the illness has reached the Weyr at all doesn't bode well for Fort\\\, but that their Acting Senior is grief-stricken and their only Junior is plagued by a disease that has already claimed victims? That's truly terrible news.

Reports of deaths have started to come out of the Fort region. But there are also reports of some people recovering and many people immune. What\'s causing the illness is still unknown\, though many are quick to point out nothing of this nature happened prior to \'\'that\'\\' body showing up. However\, with good news \(and bad news\)\, there\'s even more bad news as reports of illness are being reported in the Telgar region and along the Fort-Igen border. Telgar Weyr has been quick to request preemptive aid from Healer Hall\, but Healer Hall has its own struggles as the illness reaches Fort\'s doors more definitively.

Rumors are abounding from Ruatha. Prospective heirs (plural) have begun to arrive. By day 23\\\, there are three\\\, by day 26 that number has doubled. Evidently\\\, Giarnon's succession isn't as clear as some might wish\\\, and as a result those who stand a chance of becoming the confirmed Holder have begun to flock to the Hold to 'assist' with reparations in the area. While Ruatha isn't in a position to turn away help\\\, some wonder if so many cooks in the kitchen will be more trouble than aid to the Hold. Only time will tell.

Rumors come from Fort Hold: an heir apparent has arrived. Cyrek\\\, annoyingly good looking in his early twenties with the same blonde hair and light eyes as Astivan and charming to boot\\\, presented himself to the steward managing the Hold's affairs.
