Month 1
Alida
For the first 10 days after Impression, Alida was a walking zombie of sorts, due to Ilicaeth's ferocious itchiness all over his hide that regular oil couldn't cure for long enough for her to get solid sleep. That was recently aided a good deal by a special, thicker and richer oil suggested by Azaylia, through Hraedhyth. Alida has also become a little more chatty in general...which means she's still not as interactive as the average person, of course. She's still as tough and gruff as ever in most instance, though she has been seen on occasion to be 'cuddly' with Ilicaeth, and perhaps even sort-of kind to K'zin and N'ky. As usual, not much of what she's really feeling or thinking shows up on her face or in her words.
C'wlin
Summary: C'wlin and Athimeroth are much like any baby dragon / rider pair, self-absorbed into their own internal changes. C'wlin is slowly gaining a touch of Athimeroth's aloofness, though retains much else that makes C'wlin Ceawlin.
Month 1 WYSK:
- Both bronze and bronzerider keep the secret of Arekoth's "sneaky" feeding.
- Athimeroth tolerates but does not seem to really put much effort into initiating the gossip that occurs among dragons.
- If anything, C'wlin seems more exhausted these days than ever before -- easily chalked up to taking care of a baby dragon.
- Athimeroth's anarchist ways are only slowly emerging. Most struggles, if not all, are also chalked up to a baby dragon's lack of understanding in why certain things must be done.
- If there is one thing for sure in any situation that Athimeroth is a part of, that is he is the first to find, claim and hold the highest ground.
- Anything else, it's anyone's guess as to what will hold Athimeroth's attention.
- C'wlin... seems to continue keeping his own council / secrets. Contemplative of his circumstances, perhaps.
D'kan
For the first part of the month, D'kan might have seemed a little withdrawn, though that can easily be chalked up to the same plunge everyone's had to take into their new lives. Now that he and Kazavoth have had a few sevens to get into their own routine, the weyrling has relaxed considerably, though he still tends to hang back. He's attentive when engaged, but he hasn't done much engaging on his own, greatly preferring to keep his attention on his lifemate. It might be worth noting that he hasn't been as quick as others to condemn Aishani now she's revealed her real name, but his defenses of her have remained closer to neutral logic and devil's advocate than all-out support. He hasn't outright told anyone what he thinks, aside from some conversations of the philosophical sort.
Kazavoth, meanwhile, is one of the more active and chatty dragons in the group. He and his rider can often be seen at almost any time day or night walking the grounds, whether it's pacing inside the weyrling complex or making a wide circuit of the Weyr's perimeter. If he's awake and in the vicinity, it's likely he's making his presence known along the mindlink in one form or another, often as a wordless (but not aimless) tune. At this point in time, he is mostly jovial and unassuming, though he's not afraid to crack a joke at another's expense. It's meant in good fun, though not always taken that way. Kazavoth is on the bright side, and has a strong grasp of, and presence in, that draconic link, which he may use to his advantage or to entirely dismiss and ignore. He is the fledgling arbiter, but for now he's just playing around. Also, thanks to Arekoth, he became the first of this clutch's dragons to kill his own wherry, though he did not come away from it unscathed.
E'sren
For this first month, E'sren and Ahruth will have proven themselves both to be social and outgoing, they spend a lot of time together but it's hardly an exclusive affair. In fact, if anyone ever seems in need of a helping hand or any kind of assistance, E'sren is quick to jump to their aid. It might have something to do with his age: he is, if not the oldest, then one of the oldest weyrlings. When he laughs it's usually a bark of sound, and his voice is either loud and raucous or a low and rough tenor, depending.
He came in a few weeks before the hatching and immediately made it a point to introduce himself to anyone and everyone with a firm handshake and a big grin. He's more than happy to do a few tricks for people to lighten the mood or as a distraction from the toils of life, and developed a friendship with N'ky while teaching him some of those tricks.
Ahruth is a flashy dragon. He's seriously bright blue for one, hard to miss, and possesses a silver tongue. He uses a lot of bright colors in his communications with others, and there's an ever-present longing in him to be moving, flying, eating, living. His voice itself is a lot like his lifemate's. When full grown, he'll be the sports car to match E'sren's dapper debonair. I based him off of Ewan McGregor, who's kind of crazy in every interview I see him in, is constantly moving, and loves fast things. To fit with the theme of the other hatchlings, Ahruth is the element of surprise.
K'zin
In the first few weeks, K'zin was mostly just confused. He was his usual good-humored self, but watching the other weyrlings interact with their dragons, he began to feel a bit left out simply because his lifemate is not very outwardly affectionate. So that paired with usual adjustment pains had him looking confused more often than not. He speaks little about his lifemate, sharing few personal details, which might seem a bit off since that's the topic du jour for so many. When asked, he'll say that Rasavyth is strong, intelligent, charming, and funny. The fact that Ras has been telling dirty jokes since his first seven is no secret. It's also no secret that K'zin won a hefty bet on his own Impression and Ras is planning on spending every mark of his now sizable (for a former senior apprentice) life savings on new clothes. His friendship with N'ky has been strained since hatching, improving on the 16th day of month 4.
Like the other weyrlings, K'zin is tired, and spends most of his time in the company of his new lifemate. They are often seen walking the bowl together, the bronze looking aristocratic, the boy looking thoughtful (or like his ears should be smoking)! K'zin is also quite strict about adhering to an exercise routine and has impressed upon Ras the importance of this, so they do it together, almost every day.
Rasavyth
Initial impressions of Rasavyth's mind will show a shimmery transparent ooze that quickly adapts to whatever sounds, smells, or textures presented by the other's mind. When speaking with a group, he tailors his interactions to all in turn. The only thing that sets his reflections apart from the original is a thin sheen of transparent oozy charm that fills in available gaps or sits upon the surface. His words are always clever, charming, and measured. His voice is a pleasant, purring tenor. There's almost always amusement whether open or veiled. He seems a very good-natured, friendly sort of fellow. There might be something about his touch that makes dragons a little uncomfortable, but it's not anything that can be named or readily identified, just something. Otherwise, he's everyone's friend, enjoys a good joke, and is quite polite. Physically, Rasavyth doesn't care for exercise or strain but does it because his lifemate insists. His oversized wings make him a bit clumsy and not the strongest or fastest of the weyrlings.
N'hax
N'ky
The most noticeable thing about N'ky is his sudden discomfort around long-term best friend K'zin. Despite the strength of their friendship before the hatching, he's been avoiding the new bronze rider and things have definitely been... well, strained. As of just past the halfway through the month mark, though (day 16, to be precise), things seem to have got better.
With everyone else he's been no different than usual; a little more tired than before, perhaps, and more relaxed in most cases, though he has had a couple of angry outbursts, that are very unlike the rarely-roused pre-Impression Nicky.
N'ky is rarely seen without Cailluneth, and when they're together they're nearly always touching, if he isn't actually carrying her. They clearly have a very strong connection. For those that have experienced it (Ilicaeth, for example, when he broke N'ky's cot), she would seem to be the source of his new-found temper. She's not all hot-headed, though; quite the opposite, in fact, as she tends to use her colourful suggestions of thought and emotion to soothe and calm.
Sabella
Since the hatching, Sabs has been noticeably tired and not her usual perky self. It doesn't seem to be any one thing in particular, certainly not anything that couldn't be said about pretty much everyone else. She's been spending a little more time with the other Cromese weyrlings than before the hatching. Though she still keeps her distance from the likes of Sybile. Her cot has been chosen next to Canie and her brown.
Ghislaith is much less talkative than some of the other young dragons, more prone to single word answers and description through images and transmittance of emotion rather than true conversation. However, over time others might notice she has quite the habit of slinging in dry, sarcastic one-liners out of nowhere.
Telavi
It's hard to say how much Telavi has changed since the hatching, since she was Searched so very soon beforehand, but she certainly acts as though she hasn't had to acclimate to much. Yes, there are the occasional episodes of shy observation, but mostly she's friendly enough, self-confident and good-humoredly pleased at her luck. There's the traditional soft look in her eyes when she spots her dragon (and the exasperation when Solith wakes her up by licking her face), but mostly she carries Solith around on her shoulders nearly everywhere she goes, much as a little girl might carry her doll or an older woman wear her marriage mark on a chain.
As for Solith herself, she's still small, with those insubstantial-looking wings she's so careful of when playing with the other hatchlings, and with an airy mind-sense that notices but glosses by nearly everything without particular remark. Maybe she really is an airhead?
Meara
The damp spring weather has been playing havoc with Meara's arthritis, meaning she's been on duty far less than she might otherwise have been. She still sticks her head in as often as she can, and is a font of calm, patient wisdom.
Quinlys
Quinlys is her usual, irrepressible self. Some of the assistants seem to find her a little trying, sometimes... it's subtle, but it's there. She seems to be more interested in being friendly with weyrlings than being a taskmaster and superior, which is having variable results.
Month 2
Alida
C'wlin
The second month has finally seen C'wlin in an even keel as life stabilizes between him and Athimeroth. Let's be real -- he knows who wears the pants now. ;)
In terms of lessons, as he is formally harper trained, partially to give lessons, the tasks he's taken on have mostly been in tutoring his fellow weyrlings. Given that, C'wlin has largely been absent in terms of free time. Nothing comes for free, so the question is just what is he getting out of it?!
OOCly, this past week was a bad one in terms of RL and work, so I look forward to getting more RP for the third month!
D'kan
After the slightly rough end to the first month, the second has seen improvement. Kazavoth and D'kan had a conversation about was and wasn't cool while D'kan was sleeping. So far there have been no transgressions, as far as D'kan knows. The dragon's meal times have been hit and miss. If he's the first one at a fresh side o' beef, he's happy to tear into it without D'kan getting his hands dirty. If one of the others has already had first dibs, though, you'll likely see D'kan elbow deep with a blade, removing the remaining choice cuts. Otherwise, the pair has been keeping on the down low. Exams came and went. Their performance so far during the anatomy and ailment classes has been good, while D'kan's attention during his history classes could be better. Kazavoth thinks those are as important as the Harpers say they are, though, so perhaps things will get better.
During the month, D'kan was paired with G'mli, a brownrider from Snowdrift Wing. The two seem to get along well enough, though the mentor's most notable teaching seems to be which drinks are worth getting at the pub. Whatever he's doing, it must be working, though, as D'kan and Kazavoth have thus far been able to stay out of any further trouble.
- Placement Exam Marks:
- Reading: Exceeds Expectations
- Writing: Outstanding
- Arithmetic: Acceptable
- Local History: Poor (improved to Acceptable after requesting a retest at the end of the month)
- World History: Dreadful
(Ed. I just felt like plugging a little Hogwarts into his marks. Because dragons are magic.)
The end of the month found Kazavoth even more comfortable in his own hide, if that's possible, and D'kan fraying at the seams. Maybe it's a lack of sleep, maybe it's some underlying tension with his mentor, or maybe it's something else altogether. He requested a retest in local history toward the end of the month and was able to raise his marks enough to get out of further basic classes going into the next month. His lessons in world history will continue. Probably for a while. It's not the geography. That he's got down pat. It's all those names and dates. An attitude adjustment would help.
E'sren
Weyrling exams are hard, mmk.
Even though E'sren has had a pretty sweet study partner, he's still struggling a little bit with the math and the history. Strong suits are writing/reading, grammar has become something he's good at, and he knows geography and is learning more and more about that. So overall his scores have been reflecting these things, but pretty much any moment not spent caring for Ahruth or eating, sleeping, exercising, is spent studying. Anytime anybody sees him outside of them taking their dinners together, he's off studying with Sabella somewhere, or holed up by himself reading out of some big scary book.
He's only told like two people that he's trying to get into the weyrling leadership program, but somehow word travelled anyway, so that might be something people know. Ahruth like to spend time with his brothers and sisters, even those brothers and sisters from another mother and mister. He doesn't overly express himself with imagery when speaking to a group, tending to keep to words, which his rider is flooding their minds with every day and that might be why.
Regarding any rumors of weyrlings kissing each other or other people, if approached about any of it E'sren will expertly change the subject to anything else. How about that weather, right?
K'zin
Reading: B He understands pretty well.
Writing: B- The words are all there, but the composition of complex paragraphs is rusty.
Arithmetic: A+++ (You heard me, three +!)
Local/world history: Fail! He's alright on the stories of what's happened but the when and the where? He's miserable at it. And the geography bits? Forget it. He thinks you could leave Southern Boll on foot and end up in Benden by nightfall.
In the second month, K'zin's confusion and frustration seem to be abating. He and Rasavyth seem to be settling into a pattern of being together. The two are coming to an understanding and learning to work together. Rasavyth still does exercises only grudgingly, but K'zin has been spending extra time training as often as he can. He's not used to so much book work not paired with the hard labor of the forge. He's been getting to the forge when he can, and volunteering (with frowns from the
K'zin, like the others who are struggling with history, is studying hard, but also looking for better options. He's started recruiting people to work on a table top miniature trivia board game to help the weyrlings with their history (+bbpost 7/11). Other than studying, he's been seen to eat dinner with Sabella more often than not, and things are once more a little weird between K'zin and N'ky (since night of day 7, month 5).
Rasavyth has been showing more sides of himself. There's always charm, but he's had his moody moments, his playful ones, even his rarer cuddly ones. In evidence of their growing intimacy, K'zin has been spotted to nap with the bronze in Rasavyth's couch from time to time.
N'hax
N'ky
It's no secret that N'ky was freaking out over the exams. Reading and writing aren't a problem, but maths? History? Eurgh. Lucky (or unlucky, depending on how you look at it) for him he's nearly back to his old sleeping habits, which meant extra hours in the nights before the placement tests to spend poring over stupid hides. Just ask him. They're all stupid - especially those ones with numbers. He's gladly taken help where he can get it.
The studying didn't pay off as well as he'd hoped it would in the end; he just scraped by in history, but arithmetic was a disaster and he's wound up with extra work in both subjects. He's kind of embarrassed by it, but he's trying hard to get better.
On a slightly sadder note, Cailluneth is no longer small enough for him to carry. N'ky's a little down about it but of course he's proud that she's growing up to be so big... in all senses of the word - Cailluneth is by no means svelte! Perhaps all that carrying about has added to her hatchling tubbiness, because she's certainly round.
Following Kazavoth's incident with the wherry, it's no secret that N'ky was caught by weyrwoman Azaylia, after having snuck Cailluneth into the weyr's lower caverns to let her hunt tunnelsnakes. Cai's been crowing proudly about her kills, though N'ky is sheepish about getting caught and is adhering to the rules even more strictly.
He's been paired with C'ter as his mentor, a holdbred greenrider in his late 30s. It seems to be a happy enough pairing, and N'ky acts comfortably enough around the man.
Oh, and he's also having lessons with Madilla - they're working on getting rid of his stutter. Whether the classes have been working or he's more at ease around his fellow weyrlings, the end of the month does see somewhat of an improvement in his speech - though only when he's relaxed. Get him flustered and he'll stutter and stammer like the pro he is.
Sabella
Sabella has been studying for these exams something hard. When she hasn't been holed up in the records with E'sren after dinner, she's been working on areas of difficulty by herself. And when the time came to take them, she didn't do so awful.
Reading: She's able to understand the written word relatively well. Though she may miss the subtle meanings in more complicated works and some words just aren't in her vocabulary.
Writing: Her handwriting is atrocious. And while it has gotten better since she stopped trying to write with the wrong hand, it has a way to go. Her grammar has improved with the additional studying, but it's obvious she'll need more help.
Arithmetic: Remarkably, the hairdresser seems to have a brain for math. Long equations, algebra, geometry, whatever. It doesn't seem to be something that presents her with a lot of difficulty.
Local/world history: Local history she exceeded in. World history? Ha. Not so much. Where is Benden? What happened at Fort Hold ten turns ago? Who was the Lord Holder then? Sabs has no idea.
In the beginning of Month 2, while other weyrlings were beginning to settle in more and get more sleep, she wasn't. A rash of nightmares disrupted her nights (and may have disrupted others too) for a period. Towards the end however, it seems to have been brought under control. And she's refrained from commenting much on it (or at all) except to a few close friends or when directly confronted. In every other way, she's been about the same or better. Even if her cheerfulness seems more tempered these days.
Ghislaith hasn't been anymore sociable with her clutch siblings. She's there to lend a listening ear, but they shouldn't expect much in the way of conversation. Not that many seem too keen on spending that much time with her anyway.
Telavi
Telavi is not a fan of exams. She doesn't like being evaluated, and it's not a secret that she doesn't really see the point once she's proved she's not illiterate. Her handwriting isn't bad, though it fails when she's in a hurry, and it's littered with abbreviations and run on sentences. Here's how her tests will probably fall out:
- Math will be her strong suit... to a point. Calculations, conversions, algebra and geometry, she can usually pull off in her head and quickly, too. (Even if she mentally translates it into figuring out fabric for a dress.) Anything beyond that, though, she's never learned.
- History will be her weak suit unless she gets in gear, and even then, how much can she learn in such a short time? She's approached K'zin and C'wlin, but they seem to be pretty much opposites in terms of knowledge and pretty much the same in terms of usefulness. She hasn't yet been convinced what the point is about this either (beyond just passing exams), especially since High Reaches seems to be changing everything anyway.
- Reading and writing are just fine for her in terms of understanding. Telavi can learn things through reading and can express her opinions through writing, and she knows her way around a persuasive argument. However, she isn't the best at gauging the right amount of details to use to support her assertions, especially if an answer seems obvious (she doesn't like to show her work in math either) which is related to how she has little to no sense of formal structure. Essentially, her writing is a matter of transcribing what she would say out loud.
- When it comes to geography, let's just say that Telavi can place the major Holds, Crafts and Weyrs on a map, and a few more in the Benden coverage area... but that's about it. What might not come across in examinations is that she also doesn't have the best sense of direction.
Solith is often off wandering around, doing her own thing, or else sleeping (or 'sleeping') in somebody's couch, not necessarily her own. She likes to pick up things and bring them home. However, while Telavi takes diligent care of her, the two just don't seem to be as close as a lot of other pairs.
Month 3
Alida
C'wlin
D'kan
At the end of month two, D'kan may have been fraying, but the duration of month three saw gradual improvement. Why the fraying? If he told anyone, it was Kazavoth, and Kaz hasn't shared. When not in history or weyrling lessons, the pair largely kept to themselves. When asked about the pending assignments of silver threads, D'kan would have largely shrugged it off, not terribly interested in the extra work. When pressed, he might have shared just why he wasn't interested, and it had nothing to do with the additional classes or expectations.
E'sren
Surprising to some, E'sren has become quite the scholar. With little access to books on the road, or at least to books more substantial than basic lessons and stories, he has become totally obsessed with reading since having to do so much of it for exams. Which he passed with flying colors, turns out, except he had to take math one more time to scrape by with a medium passing grade. He's been demonstrating this knack for retaining a lot of information, he's able to quote books and recall facts as if he only just read them.
It's still not too widely known, but he's aiming for something specific for himself and his neon blue friend; if asked about any additional moments after lessons he's been spending with Quinlys, he'll just say they're talking about Ahruth's... stuff.
He's managed to get to know everyone it seems, and if he doesn't know someone he's still going to smile at them like he does. Likeable, calm, cool, other things too, he's becoming a bit of a man about town. He still spends most of his time with Sabella, either studying with her or simply reading in a chair while she draws. If they aren't quiet, they're talking animatedly or laughing at each other. Or, in Sabella's case, punching E'sren.
K'zin
It's been a doosie of a month for K'zin and Rasavyth. At the beginning of the month, everything was rolling along. They appeared to be the perfect little weyrling pair: doing their duties, dragging their feet just enough, getting excited just enough, following the ru... wait. No. Not that one. Some of the observant might have noticed K'zin having more than one drink when he oughtn't.
Then there was the incident. The one at the lake (Logs: Bathing Bedlam) on day 11. Everything seemed to change after that. He was in the infirmary two days and on light duty for another three until his various injuries (most notably his broken nose) had healed enough to get back into regular action. Rumor tells that he broke the rules and lost all his privileges indefinitely. He's been since seen keeping to only public areas or accompanied by one of the weyrlingmaster's dragons when he has to go off to do something on his own (most notably his extra hunting trips with the horrible hunter Rasavyth at lunchtime). He threw himself into all weyrlinghood has to offer with renewed vigor. He's almost never seen without a book or a good bit of sweat, spending his free hours studying or doing extra exercise. For a more complete look at this time period for K'zin, see Logs: A walk in the boots of a changed man. He's still working on that game in the training cavern as time allows, he's hoping for it to be ready by next month to help those in remedial classes test out.
One very notable change since day 11 is that Rasavyth has been his near-constant companion. Where other dragons were clingy at birth, Rasavyth never was. He's not particularly touchy-feely with his rider even now, but when K'zin is awake, they are almost always together, both actively engaged in the task at hand, whether it's studying or exercising or whatever else.
Rasavyth, for his part, has not been excelling with the physical tasks of being a dragon; almost as if those tasks don't come naturally to him the way so many mental things do. He does try quite hard, but in the mornings when all the weyrlings feed, he'll take advantage of the good hunters to scare up his own meal, hence the extra trips on his own to make him learn to do it all himself. With gliding, too, he's not been the best. He does steadily improve (in small ways) from session to session with the gliding, the hunting, it seems, is harder for him to make progress with.
N'hax
N'ky
Month three has, so far, been the least eventful for N'ky and Cailluneth. She's growing, he's stuttering less - apart from when emotions are high, of course. Nerves, excitement, panic and so on all bring it back full-force. In general conversation with most weyrlings though, he's comfortable enough to be more himself. With all of his catch-up work, Harper classes and other things on top of his weyrling duties, he's been busy enough to actually start sleeping through most nights due to pure exhaustion. Things have fluctuated with K'zin as they have since Impression, and N'ky's even had a couple of frazzled moments when he's just felt absolutely overwhelmed by everything happening, and by his want to make everyone happy. Slowly-slowly, he's learning to be just a little bit selfish by putting himself first - well, after Cailluneth, of course.
Cailluneth proved herself to be a fierce, successful hunter, having made her first kill under the supervision of Hraedhyth. She's got a habit of pinning a herdbeast down and latching onto its neck to bleed it out, and she's been wearing a good few bruises from flailing hooves as a trophy of her kills. When she's hunting, any dragon who's tried to reach her will find her mind very different to normal: it's wild, somewhat animalistic, driven by bloodlust and the thrill of hunting. Now that she's taller than the herdbeasts it's not quite as much of a game to bring them down as it was before, but she still likes to whip her food into a frenzy before leaping for the kill.
There have been more times when the pair haven't been seen glued to each other's sides, though they're still very, very close. N'ky still tends to stick only to the places where Cailluneth can be with him, which means he's only indoors when she's asleep, or when he absolutely has to be - and in the latter case, he's often distracted as he keeps in mental touch with her. They're still very touchy-touchy, and when together they're nearly always in contact.
Sabella
This vignette basically sums it up: Logs:Or_was_it_three-hundred_and_fifty-two?
Telavi
The accident that landed Telavi, Alida, K'zin, and associated dragons in the infirmary was the major event of Tela's month, and was followed by a further report to Quinlys.
Other than that, there was some studying (thanks to Sabs' prodding), some hunting (Solith really, really likes hunting), and even some behaving.
Month 4
Alida
C'wlin
D'kan
While D'kan continues to lie low and remain in the background, for the most part, Kazavoth's been doing anything but. When awake, his chatter with the other dragons of the Weyr is almost constant, whether he's pestering just one or two in particular or broadcasting thoughts and songs to the area at large. When told to buzz off, he does so. For a little while. He's only a few months old, after all. At least he's been keeping it to the dragons, or he and D'kan might find a one-way ticket to Some Weyr, Any Weyr But Here. Most notably, Kazavoth has been known to express complaints about the old, tough beasts left for them to eat, and irritation that his newfound ability to fly is kept so tethered by Those In Charge.
D'kan was not one of the handful to find a silver thread on his cot. As with most other things lately, he tends to stay quiet on his thoughts about it, at least in public, though he's shared more specific opinions with a few people in private. He has not pursued changing his thread. He has, however, managed to complete his remedial Harper classes, having retaken the exam for world history a little more than halfway through the month, which means he's down to just the usual weyrling lectures, drills, and other tasks. Will he be supplementing those lectures and studies? He has been seen with some extra odds and ends of hide and parchment around Kazavoth's couch, but maybe he's just a collector.
E'sren
Since his family arrived, E'sren has been spending a lot more time with them, any free moments he has. He's also been chosen as one of the 'silvers', as their class has been dubbed, and so those free moments are more few and far between as it is. These events have caused a bit of a rift between himself and some of his fellow weyrlings, a rift he tries at every turn to mend by being his usual down-to-earth, amicable self. More time with those other weyrlings who were chosen is not happening either, though he does spend more and more time with Telavi now, and of course with Sabella.
More and more time spent with Quinlys and Aishani might also be noted, though it isn't over the top, and I'zech too during lessons. The work from the leadership program has begun to take, if not a toll then just... things. His sleeping schedule is totally screwed, he sleeps about five hours a night, and nobody would be able to say they caught him sitting down unless he was currently studying politics or etiquette or the Weyr itself. But despite this obvious toil, he's still cheerful, still upbeat, through it all. Must be something in the klah.
Ahruth is becoming more and more talkative as time moves on. Any dragons who interact with him might notice a general absence of the usual dramatic personality demonstrated by the rest of the weyrlings this cycle produced. Instead he uses words, since E'sren supplies him with a constant supply, and color, and his emotions come through clearly. More than that is reserved for playing with others and toying with their imagery.
K'zin
As K'zin's punishment went on, he followed the letter of the law (so to speak). He was never seen in a non-public area without an appropriate escort (except for this once in the Stores). He put real effort into everything: drills, lectures, exercises, remedial classes. He was almost never seen without a book. When he was seen with a book, he was almost never without his dragon. They studied together and largely isolated themselves from social exchanges. They were both still plenty friendly during drill and lecture, but in their free time, they kept to themselves, throwing themselves into the rigors of self-improvement. One might say that he avoided everyone equally, but truthfully, he avoided Sabella most of all and kept himself being alone with anyone, as much as possible.

There's been nothing at all of note happening with N'ky this month. Cailluneth's finally taller than him at the shoulder and he's disappointed that he was overlooked for the silver threads, but that's about it.
By the end of the month his grades have started to slip significantly, and he's not putting as much effort - hardly any effort, really - into his remedial classes any more.
Sabella
Telavi
This month saw Solith excited about flying for real (if this is a drinking game, you can take a gulp every time she flutters), which has led to her getting into things even more. She listens closely to other dragons who seem to know what they're doing, especially the older ones, and learns as best she can.
In contrast, Telavi's easy energy thinned with all the extra work she'd been given. She'd never anticipated needing such skills, and she hasn't the drive and ambition of some of the others, to the point where she probably wouldn't have made it even this far without their encouragement; the divisiveness in reaction to the selection of a few hasn't helped either. Though she continues to regularly receive messages in mail delivered from other places, Tela's replying with fewer and shorter missives in return, and some of the arrivals continue to get stuck in her clothespress unopened.
Meara
Quinlys
I'zech
Coming into the barracks at the tail end of Month 3, I'zech and his frightful specter of a bronze, Rojeth, brought along with them the rumors that this new assistant weyrlingmaster was kicked out of Hailstorm for being a no-good, lazy, smack-talking... well, you get the picture. Quinlys and Meara have apparently taken it upon themselves to make something of him, like another wayward youth in need of shaping, not that they look particularly thrilled about it. Thems the rumors.
I'zech himself has been shadowing around the barracks, doing little more than coughing out a belligerent 'yeah, what she said' here and there as he learns the schedule and becomes familiar with all the young, shining faces. Supposedly, the weyrlings should listen to him, or something, at some point, if he starts to do something.
Also, there's a good chance he's hung over.
Rojeth has made a habit of making contact with the weyrling dragons while not necessarily being physically present. It seems just to be his way, preferring thus far to watch the training from a distance rather than get involved.
Month 5
Alida
C'wlin
D'kan
D'kan and Sabella were chosen as Month Five's wingleader and wingsecond, respectively, during the month the weyrlings would first fly with their dragons. As Flurry's leaders for the month, they were set to take the skies, given a sevenday's head start so they might be better able to lead. Unfortunately, Sabella took to the ground shortly after, just as D'kan and G'mli had settled onto the Star Stones.
Hours after Sabella's accident, she and D'kan had a closed-doors discussion, the details of which have been kept fairly quiet. What isn't quiet is that the next day before drills, D'kan announced that while Sabella would not be able to perform aerial wingsecond duties later in the month due to her injury, she would still handle all other wingseconding duties, as able. However, as the rest of the weyrling wing prepared for their own first trips into the air with their dragons, D'kan needed to choose a backup wingsecond to help with the airborne exercises once they reach that point, and for that he chose J'tor, fellow brownrider to birch-brown Adrovanth. J'tor is a little on the young side, in his mid-teens, but a local (and notably lacking a silver thread), while Adrovanth is calm and methodical. Basically, the brown pair was a fairly safe choice for this tumultuous month.
Dispelling rumors that the rest of the weyrlings' first flying trips would be postponed in response to the greenrider's accident, the response of this month's wing leadership was the same: stuff happens, we move on. As for rumors that those riding straps would be scrutinized more heavily? True. All in a day's work for the weyrlingmasters and their assistants, right?
About mid-month, D'kan had a morning conversation with N'ky about the greenrider's performance and lack of riding straps. Did it help? Only N'ky can answer.
E'sren
K'zin
This month began much the same for K'zin. He kept his nose to the grindstone (or study book), avoided distraction and temptation but was surely the consummate professional when it came to weyrling duties. At the beginning of the month, he tested out of his remedial classes and found himself with time to spare. He approached Quinlys to ask for additional work to keep him busy and ended up asking about sitting in on the silver thread lectures/lessons. Since she said anyone could attend (not the Wingleader meetings or the special things, but the lectures), he started sitting in on them regularly. She also told him his punishment was complete, at last! (Logs: Leadership Potential)
The restoration of privileges and Sabella's accident, together, prompted him to pull his head out of his butt and stop avoiding everyone (Logs: If these were the last moments...). To his dismay, he had a lot of idiocy and hypocrisy to make up for (Logs: Apologies, Again.). As N'ky became more withdrawn, things between he and K'zin seemed to be at another low point. He kept up his hard work and added extra study time with the healers for first aid and anatomy to his roster of activities along with wrangling Craft apprentices to paint the back drops for Mave's play. He also has been vanishing at lunchtime a couple of times a seven, anyone following would lose him in the foot-traffic of the Inner Caverns at lunchtime.
A number of interesting events occurred that might be rumored of, including a confrontation with N'ky (Logs: Confrontation) paired with a trip to the healers (Logs: Bruise Balm) and a near-miss at being reported for rule-breaking (even though it only seemed that he was) by I'zech (in two parts: Logs: Shame and embarrassment and Logs: Boots of... doom?), gaining a mentee in the form of a Craft apprentice (Logs: Artistic License), and a secret sucky turnday (Logs: Happy Turnday to Me.
N'hax
N'ky
N'ky's grades haven't improved this month; they may have even declined. Those still in remedial classes may talk about how he's failing pretty miserably, but no-one's likely to hear it from N'ky himself. If asked, he just brushes it off and changes the subject... if he's even around to be asked, that is. Outside of standard weyrling classes (which he's putting full effort into, even if he's not socialising much while doing so), he's rarely in the barracks. He's been spending mealtimes alone for the most part, though anyone who's spent time with him will notice that he barely eats anything, and only offers the bare minimum of interaction if he's approached. He's been spending most of his time somewhere in the Weyr with Cailluneth, normally at the far end of the lake, by the waterfall. She's very protective if anyone approaches, and if he's spoken to, N'ky quickly makes his excuses to leave.
Prior to Sabella's incident, N'ky was hesitant about flying; after it, there was no sign of straps on Cailluneth and the pair made no attempts at a first flight.
A failed attempt at reverse psychology from K'zin made N'ky sink even lower into his funk; an attempt on the bronzerider's behalf to apologise later led to Cailluneth broadcasting angrily across the Weyr that her weyrling was under threat, and an uncomfortable situation at the far end of the lake didn't make things any better. Despite N'ky giving K'zin a turnday present, he's still not talking to him.
D'kan's attempt to pull him out of it did more good than he actually let on; N'ky perked up a little from his 'brother's' tough love approach, but it was Alida who did the most to drag him out of it.
It wasn't until the very end of the month, day 27, that N'ky was finally called into the Weyrlingmasters' office for the inevitable chat about his performance, while Quinlys led the other weyrlings in an aerial drill. No-one's likely to know exactly what Meara and N'ky spoke about, but someone may have noticed Isath flying up and out of the Weyr with two passengers on her back, trailed by Cailluneth. Anyone with eyes on the bowl later that night will have seen a triumphant-looking teenager slipping down from his green's back after winging in over the bowl's rim. Their first flight was out of sight, out of the Weyr, but it definitely happened - and it's been hard to keep them on the ground since. N'ky's new favourite haunt, even more secluded than the far end of the lake, is the Star Stones.
N'ky still hasn't tested out of his remedial history and maths classes, and another new development at the end of month five is private Harper lessons. When he's not there, he seems to have a renewed passion for studying other things... especially any journals on leadership, wings and so on that he can get his paws on.
Sabella
When this month began, Sabella was more than psyched to start her weyrling wingseconding duties. Unfortunately that fell apart to an extent when her riding straps failed her and she went tumbling to the ground of the bowl. She suffered a broken arm, bumps, scrapes and bruises. As well as an ego that's certainly been taken down a notch or two. The healers say that it'll be at least six weeks with her arm in a cast. She's relatively chipper and has been allowing people to sign it, granted she doesn't end up with anymore boobs and triangles on there. Thanks I'zech.
With J'tor stepping in to take over the more physically active role of the wingseconding duties, she's thrown herself into what remains for her to do. Some might say a little too fervently, but then she's always been a little obnoxious that way. When she can't participate in the airborne drilling she's helping Quinlys out and delving further into her academics.
Meanwhile her "social" life seems to have shifted. Right after candidacy she appeared to be quite friendly with both K'zin and N'ky. Though lately she hasn't been seen talking to either very much outside of hello and goodbye and whatever their weyrling activities require from them. Instead she seems quite tight with E'sren, though it may be difficult to discern the exact nature of their relationship from the outside. And she's not so open mouthed about it to just anyone. Early breakfasts are still largely spent with Telavi, where they gossip and giggle like teenage girls. Which hey, they are. And occasionally, a person might spot the weyrling spending time with Jo.
Telavi
Telavi and Solith have been looking forward to flying as a pair, and since Solith now knows how to fly and Telavi knows how to ride, of course it will be as easy as pie. Right? Tela's settling into her workload better, living on little sleep and actuallly relishing some of the new information and even more so the arguing (as well as getting to be a vtol on the wall while the wingleaders meet). Solith has also begun to be lessoned by Rasavyth in how to get information from her rider, but she's still quite the neophyte. They can often be found around the lake, Solith in the lake and Tela haunting the diving cliff, with or without a variety of fellow weyrlings and occasionally others.
In the immediate aftermath of Sabella's fall, Solith's distress at Ghislaith's distress was more short-lived and easily calmed, while Telavi, not present at the time and then kept out of the infirmary, was left to wring her hands and promise that she'd take notes for Sabs, really she would. (E'sren's would probably be better, though.)
Partway through the month, Tela stopped overlooking I'zech so much. Near the end, she and Solith flew for the first time, something that could easily have been overlooked since so many of their clutchmates were already busy flying on their own... and it didn't go nearly as well as anticipated. The next day, Tela was called in for an end-of-lunch meeting with Meara. Isn't she lucky that it wasn't Quinlys?
Month 6
Alida
C'wlin
D'kan
All too happy to pass off wingleading duties to C'wlin, D'kan spent most of the month in relative relaxation. Sure, the physical training continued to get more intense, but that was all right. Flying with Kazavoth continued to improve. Continued to be absolutely freaking awesome! It wasn't all rosy, though. It was a big month, the month when the weyrlings were allowed to move into weyrs of their own. Exciting! Unless you're D'kan, who was terrified. Sure, he'd be sharing a weyr with Kazavoth, which helped. But what about when Kazavoth went flying? Or hunting? D'kan would be all alone, oh Faranth.
Okay, it wasn't quite that simple, but this a recap, right? Luckily, he has good people looking out for him, and some very wise people to give advice. It was after a chat with Leova that the brownrider bit the Pern-equivalent bullet and went off to stake a weyr-claim. One of, if not the last to do so, but who's counting? At least he was moved out of the barracks before the month ended, though not before Kazavoth managed to make a total mess of the place (which D'kan had to clean up... including fixing up a cot really quickly that had belonged Quielle) while exploding a song all over the conscious dragons of the Weyr. Ten points from House Kazavoth, but yes, they whistle while they work.
E'sren
E'sren's been taking the rotation of weyrling wingleaders and wingseconds with characteristic adaptability. He endured C'wlin's demands and was one of the stronger performers at drills and any other physical aspects, proving to be as efficient when it comes to that stuff as he is with academics.
Getting his own weyr was a big step for him. He went from always sleeping either in the same wagon as his family or at least half of them, or sleeping close enough that he could hear them all, to sleeping in the barracks with all the other weyrlings. There were some hard nights where sleep didn't come so easily, and he still has some trouble; often he can be found on the bench on his ledge, staring up at the stars, wrapped up in a blanket.
He and Sabella may have been caught holding hands now and again when they don't think anyone is paying attention or cares. They still spend a lot of time together, finishing each other's sentences and making each other laugh at their own inside jokes. Telavi is included in that part most of the time, the three of them cracking up over some whispered comment from either one.
Ahruth has taken to flying as effortlessly as anyone could have guessed. He is perfect in flight by now, and can be seen practicing elaborate aerial maneuvers without his rider. For now.
K'zin
K'zin had a lot going on during month six, both in personal and professional developments. He began to work extra hard in his weyrling duties (some might speculate it's because of the two bronzers in charge of the wing and the idea that what's good for one bronzer is good for all, since none had been picked for Silver Threads or leadership up to this point). Getting their weyrs was the hot topic at the beginning of the month. s a testament to how dedicated he's become to (at least giving the appearance of) following the rules, he quashed Alida's plans to go check out the weyrs beforehand (Logs: Quashing Quests). That same night, (after having gotten permission from Quinlys earlier), he re-proposed his first date with Azaylia (originally proposed on day 24, month 2 in Logs: Smiths N' 'Snakes, re-proposed on day 2, month 9 in Logs: Wherefore art thou, Azaylia?). That wasn't the only personal connection K'zin was strengthening though. He started to patch things up with N'ky (Logs: Not Mad). Some might have noticed extra smiles and a lot of companionable silences between he and Telavi (since the events of the baths, mid-month 8). He started to subtly steal moments with her before getting a weyr (Logs: No Grabbing) and more after.
He was quick to claim the first weyr that came along, but many have agreed that it, even with its unusual artistry, suits he and Rasavyth (Logs: Picky, Picky, Picky). The days that followed were busy. Alida and he were in and out of each others weyrs in the first days, deepening their friendship (Logs: A Diverse Discussion and Logs: Boundaries of Friendship). He finally went on his gratuitously sweet and romantic date with Azaylia (Logs: A Date To Remember) which prompted him to seek out K'del's fatherly advice (Logs: The Talk). Surprisingly (or perhaps not), when it came time to put K'del's advice into action, it was on the heels of receiving a pair of belated turnday presents, including his very own silver thread and it was Telavi who was the beneficiary (Logs: Belated Boons and Logs: At Least Solith is Spared).
His other friendships saw highs and lows, too. K'zin and N'ky improved things (Logs: Moonlit Reconciliation) and then they got worse again (Logs: Fixed yet broken), though at lest this time, the pair weren't avoiding each other or outwardly hostile, just very businesslike and a little uneasy. K'zin and C'wlin made casual headway towards establishing some kind of non-strictly-work-based friendship (Logs: The Discourse of Dragons and their Men). Not all things can be so easy, however. Things between K'zin and Sabella are still not the best (Logs: No Rainbows or Unicorns), but K'zin's trying to act normal.
Through it all, he's had to set aside some of his extracurriculars (lessons with the healers, paperwork lessons with Azaylia, extra Smithly projects), to focus on getting caught up to the other Silver Threaders. It has him pulling long days, and his overall performance has lagged a little. He's still doing well, it's just not as exemplary as before because he has more things on his plate. When quantity increases, quality suffers a small bit.
N'hax
N'ky
The beginning of month six didn't start overly well for N'ky, who found himself overwhelmed and unable to properly balance the pressure of his wing duties, weyrling lectures, private Harper classes (he still hasn't tested out of remedial Maths, though he's doing better with History), lessons with Madilla, and extra studying to be prepared for the wingleader knot that, according to rumour, he's turned down once... though given the mess he's been for near enough the past two months, he would have been in next to no state to lead anyone.
With no prior warning, Day 15 saw him stop attending Flurry's drills in order to train with Cirrus, under their wingleader for the month, Aisha. It's a temporary arrangement but it seems to be working for him, if not for anyone else.
N'ky was amongst the last of the weyrlings to go hunting for a new weyr, missing out on the organised trips due to his extra work. On Day 17, he persuaded D'kan to go weyrhunting with him, claiming a small, shadowy, draughty location as high up the weyr as possible. By Day 18, he'd moved in.
The rest of the month was smooth as silk for him - moving to Cirrus and shadowing the wing's greenrider leaders, Aisha and J'madri, certainly had a positive impact on N'ky; the change seemed to be exactly what he needed to get back on track - there have even been rumours of him hooking up with one of Cirrus's blueriders, April, and the two of them being frequently spotted together at mealtimes is doing nothing to dispel them.
By the end of the month, he'd even made up with K'zin... just in time for him to be handed a wingleader knot, to take charge of Flurry in Month 7.
Sabella
Telavi
Flying wasn't as awful this month for Telavi and Solith, though they still seemed more comfortable playing elevator (with its opportunity to both gossip and get a glimpse of a variety of weyrs) than in aerial drills. Getting a weyr was good, but getting a contagious disease (according to this month's favorite wingleader, C'wlin) was not so good, even if she did get a day off. Tela both relied on and tried to help her friends in dealing with all that as well as the shifts in silver thread dynamics (K'zin joining, Quielle getting kicked out, N'gan acting strange) and workload. Solith wound up visiting a variety of weyrs with her rider (whether to study or socialize) and often without, and Tela was even seen in the Snowasis now and again, but not for long.
Month 7
Alida
C'wlin
D'kan
The brown pair seemed happy to take a back seat again this month. While Kazavoth seemed interested in the competitive elements of this month's wing activities, D'kan's attention seemed largely directed elsewhere. One of the highlights included watching Z'ian and Vienne negotiate some tithing issues, but a weyrling's reach only goes so far, and D'kan kept his thoughts to himself. Miraculously, so did Kaz.
E'sren
K'zin
K'zin has been busy! He's been doing well with duties this month, although a hair less gung-ho about everything (because he simply doesn't have the energy to spread around). He's still friendly, to most. Some might notice that K'zin is particularly civil and professional with his interactions with E'sren and that whereas in past months he's been over-eager in his interactions with Sabella, now he's just acting the normal kind of friendly (if busy).
K'zin didn't really get into the competitions set up, because it seems he's simply not a competitive person. He did his best, of course, but never had the competitive spirit some might have hoped for out of a bronzer. Rasavyth was an awesome cheerleader for the events, though seemingly never too disappointed with losses. He was seen doing some extra physical training with a couple of Cirrus members a handful of times. When asked, he would explain it's because they asked, and in the end, shouldn't they all win at life? They're all 'Reaches riders after all. All for one and all that.
His extracurricular activities have dropped down to only two. He still vanishes at lunchtime a couple times a seven and some (notably especially neighbor C'wlin) might notice that K'zin seems to get at least two or three (female, for the very observant) visitors a seven, often fairly late in the evening and some don't stay for long. Dragons in a variety of colors seem to bring them, sometime their own, and sometimes just whichever dragon is on elevator duty. Some gossip from those on elevator duty tells that some of the visitors (especially the giggly, nervous sorts don't have an invitation, but that they never seem to be turned away, though some do find him already asleep in various places in the weyr and ask to be taken back down to the bowl.
N'hax
N'ky
All the brushing up on leadership prior to being handed Flurry's Wingleader knot seemed to pay off for N'ky. Being matched up with Alida was definitely an advantage too, as they made quite the pair. N'ky surprised himself if no-one else with his competence and confidence in leading the wing, and was dedicated to encouraging everyone to achieve their best, especially in the relay races.
The final leg of the race against Cirrus had N'ky racing against April - someone who he's becoming somewhat of an item with. Cirrus already had a bit of a lead on Flurry by the time the handover to N'ky and Cailluneth to take the race home happened, but N'ky's fumbled catch whipped away whatever chance they would have had of catching up to win. Did he miss the catch on purpose, to let his sorta-girlfriend win? Did he just give up, knowing that Cailluneth wouldn't be able to catch April's faster Darcielth? N'ky knows what happened for sure, but he's staying tight-lipped.
He's also been seen more frequently with J'madri. There might be a touch more to whatever their friendship is, if the occasional lingering glance and unnecessary (but appropriate!) touching is any indicator to those prone to picking up on such signs. Given his preference for two of its wingmembers, what little spare timehad in month seven was spent with Cirrus' riders.
Sabella
Telavi
Telavi had been keeping track of who said what about Quielle, and shortly after N'gan was finally kicked back into the barracks for his part in things, Quinlys caught Tela getting on J'madri's case about it... which led to a talk in the weyrlingmasters' office. Since then, the chaos surrounding revelations about Ysavaeth's and others' subterfuge has been derailing in its own way, but it's early days yet.
Month 8
Alida
C'wlin
D'kan
D'kan has definitely been fraying at the edges as this month progressed, though true to form, he's been steady as far as wing duties have gone. Now that shared living spaces are no longer an issue, folks have had to deal with a lot less noise from Kazavoth, which some might see as a relief. The brown has even gotten better at keeping his more superfluous thoughts to himself, at least during lessons and drills.
Once the newness of living in his own weyr wore off, the brownrider did seem to relax a little bit. D'kan has not been seen testing his newfound freedoms, but whether that's from lack of interest or lack of broadcasting remains to be seen. Surely Kazavoth would have said something if there was something to be said, though, right?
Of note: D'kan may have expressed how disappointed he was at missing the events at High Reaches Hold. Alas, timing is everything.
E'sren
K'zin
Who knew one could be busier? K'zin didn't. For the first seven, its rough going as Sh'mel and K'zin try to find their rhythm. Maybe it was intentional the weyrlingmasters' part to choose a Cirrus greenrider who wasn't local born. What's more is that Sh'mel, who'd been a launderer at Telgar Hold before getting picked up not long before the eggs shelled, doesn't exactly seem to have leadership written all over him (or really on any of him). He's competent as a weyrling, of course, and was doing well in Cirrus, but is overwhelmed by having to lead a different wing. It doesn't help that leadership doesn't come naturally to the soft-spoken nineteen turn old. The roughness in the rhythm comes from Sh'mel not knowing how to approach leadership, not knowing K'zin or the wing, and K'zin waiting for Sh'mel to take the lead. Once Sh'mel sorts out (with self-resentment for it) that he needs K'zin, and makes stupid mistakes sometimes when he tries to stand on his own two feet, things become smoother. Well, a bit smoother.
By the middle of the first seven a few things have become clear: K'zin is wingsecond, which means he's fulfilling his role in making Sh'mel's job easier and supporting him, he and Rasavyth share the goals of safety, overall wing success, and providing Sh'mel with whatever support he needs to be successful. K'zin had previously been seen fraternizing with Cirrus, though not with Sh'mel in particular, and his full support to the greenrider seems to fall right in line with his cooperative, non-competitive agenda. Rasavyth, too, is very helpful to Tayabeth (and Sh'mel by extension). She's not a natural leader either, though more attentive than some greens. If Rasavyth is offering her advice, it's not seen overtly. K'zin is also the one sent after slackers who don't get up on time, as he's more familiar with the weyrlings in the wing. He's not mean about it, or mad, just very no-nonsense and professional. By the end of the first seven, the leaders will find their balance and they'll be doing their bests to help the others find it, too.
As for the firestone competition at the end of the month? K'zin is all about beat your own best, help everyone, and safety first. K'zin more than Sh'mel (who seems a touch introverted) makes himself available to any weyrlings struggling with anything. If it's not something he's good at, he'll still try, and try to find you another weyrling that does excel at whatever it is, and practice with you.
Extra exercises he frequently did with Azaylia and Alida or set aside. (This does have the effect of him being a liiiiiittle excited about the physical training done with the wing. So, expect that to be demanding unless it's pointed out to him that someone is having trouble with the rigorous expectations.) Contrary to previous months, he seems to have ceased all his personal extracurricular. There's only two things in his life this month: Flurry Wing and Silver Threads. Exceptions are certainly made for friends (no abandonment!) seeking to steal a few minutes with him. Though an occasional visitor might be seen coming to his ledge, there's been quiet instructions passed around those on elevator duty not to bring people to his weyr, and those that are anyway are met, spoken with on the ledge in hushed tones, and sent back down to the bowl - some looking none-too-pleased with the previously very friendly bronzer!
N'hax
N'ky
Outside of wing duties and when not in the extra classes he's still taking (he's finally tested out of History, but remedial maths is ongoing and he's still attending speech therapy, too), N'ky spends nearly all of his time this month with Cirrus riders, especially April and J'madri.
He knows Sh'mel from his time spent with the other wing, and, perhaps because K'zin's this month's wingsecond, N'ky isn't shy about backing the transferred-in leader up or offering advice when needed.
Sabella
With the ever growing political tension in the Weyr, Sabella's grown restless with her Silver Threads status. While she continues to do the work and keep up with her duties, she's been known to make comments. And the sketches she does have lately been taking on the appearance of 'political cartoons'. A deeply prejudicial and likely demeaning drawing of some leader in the Weyr, with a snarky caption scrawled underneath. She largely keeps them to herself, but now and then they've been popping around the barracks. Or "left" in the records room. Or "misplaced" at breakfast in the living cavern. They're not signed and if asked, she'll deny and swear up and down that they're not hers. Additionally, there was a rumor that she spoke with Aishani, became upset and was dragged out of the Weyr by I'zech. How much of that is true and to what extent is up for speculation. But as of yet, she hasn't quit or been removed.
Sh'mel (NPC Wingleader)
Re-cap of known details (feel free to add as you RP!)
- 19 turns old, paired with green Tayabeth
- Not a leader but was a competent rider in Cirrus
- Was a launderer at Telgar Hold before coming to HRW, searched not long before hatching
- soft-spoken
- resents needing to lean on K'zin
- makes dumb mistakes when he tries to stride out on his own
- Tayabeth is not a natural leader, but more attentive than some greens
Telavi
Telavi would like to have been able to say that the second most exciting part of this month was getting a couch at last (and an armoire, thanks, D'kan!). However, duking it out with the HRH pirates for the top spot was day 27's flaming accident in which Solith got singed. Things had been going so well, too! They would have had to only spend a short time in the dragon infirmary if it weren't for Solith's later getting her burn dirty and having to go back in for a second night.
Overall, the pair had been continuing to work hard for yet another month; maybe that's why Telavi had been choosing less spicy or bean-y food of late. A few people who saw (or overheard) her might also occasionally have heard her admit to a stomachache in the evenings.
