With Szadath's bulk obvious on Hraedhyth's ledge, peering this way and that at the other ground ledges around him, it's not hard to figure out where Taikrin might be. She's just coming out of the empty Weyrleader's weyr, actually, and is currently wandering around the ledge as if sizing it up.

"Well. Look what a gold dragged in here." Words perhaps proceed the familiar gait of one convict rider encased in black riding leathers and a mussed-up mane of dark hair. Jo steps up to the ground ledge, her heavy booted steps clicking on the hard ground as she slowly approaches Taikrin from behind. She's watching her wingmate carefully despite the faint layer of a crooked grin in place, and should the other turn around, she swings up a smooth black bottle of something for her to see as she adds, "Another celebration so soon. Startin' to think lady luck favors ya, fella o'mine."

"What can I say, we're a lucky pair," Taikrin's grinning to match when she turns from her inspection of a well-worn wallow in the ledge to greet her wingmate. "You here to be doing some celebration with me?" She's eyeing that bottle with unconcealed anticipation. "I ain't had time to swing by yet, but soon. How's the feeling? Everyone ready for another party?"

"Sure looks like that, darlin'," Jo says, sauntering over with open inspection at the ledge. "Never really been up here before," she adds idly in observation. Taikrin's question of celebrating brings her dark gaze right back to her with an arch brow coupled with open speculation. Then, when her gaze is drawn to the bottle at her hand, she thrusts it out towards Taikrin and answers lazily, "Like I'd turn down a little bit of fun." With her, there's always that faint touch of suggestion and innuendo - and even deadpan snark - in her tone. To that other question, there's pause before the bluerider shifts a shoulder in something close to a shrug before she answers, "Might not get the same turn-out, this time around. Some folks are....unsure...about all of this." That words was the best she was going to come up with.

"Yeah?" A hand threads through Taikrin's nearly-shorn hair, and she can't help the sigh. "Suppose that's fair. It's a lot for everyone to adjust to." And for her to adjust to, as well-- she can't hide the way her gaze scans searchingly across the open space, just in case. "My first job, I reckon, is making them okay with it. Reassure everyone, yeah? World keeps turning." At first she reaches out to take the bottle, but then hesitates and withdraws her hand. "Maybe later. Promised Szad I'd wait until after sundown. We got some plans to go over, still, later on."

"I can always come back with it," Jo offers when Taikrin doesn't take the bottle, her arm holding it settling it back to her side. "There's always business to be done, but, I've been tryin' to keep my promise to Tac about gettin' him back to his ledge at least before sunrise." Due to their associations, Taikrin was one person the convict rider had nothing to hide from. She turns back to the topic of the feeling of the Weyr, lips pressing together briefly. Studying her as she speaks on it, "Reassurance would be a good move," she muses, lingering on those words. "A lot of folks ain' used to change or havin' their boat rocked." She pauses, eyes taking in the ledge and the weyr it's attached to as she moves to flank close to Taikrin, facing the opposite way as she adds, "Not to mention, where those of us with...sensitive standings...are concerned." Eyes shift to Taikrin then, her gaze briefly pointed to mean their associates currently in the Weyr - and especially those attached to dragons. After she lets that sink in, "What sort of plans?"

Taikrin is attentitive to Jo in a way the younger girl might not have seen in, well, turns. There's a an intensity in her focus, one that goes beyond simple measuring. "Just because I'm who I am don't mean things got to change all that much around here day-to-day. Mostly, we just want things to carry on as before... except that now I'm looking to the wings, instead of the other way around." Her weight shifts, cocking one hip, and she's quiet a moment before adding appraisingly. "I could use your help, you know, if you're so inclined. To sort these things out. Especially in light of the... sensitive standings?"

Something Taikrin says get Jo regard her for a moment, her brows pricked slightly. "Got something in mind with Glacier?" She's interested, that much can be told. But then, it's the next that's unexpected - enough so that it catches Jo off-guard enough to blink at it once. Then, her tone not too idle this time, "Ya know...Lanvec will have to know of this, if he doesn' know already," she says, carefully casual. A heads-ups, perhaps, about him knowing of the flight outcome? A warning? Or maybe she's just passing idle comment? Still, she lets silence linger a bit longer as she seems to be mulling over the other's words, and then when she meets Taikrin's gaze, "If I'm useful," she decides to say with a slight incline of her head. "We all here come from delicate backgrounds that we would like kept quiet. Especially, things leading to the present. I'm thinkin' of that we're of agreement." Pause. "What do ya have in mind?"

"I need someone who ain't so strongly associated with me, who I can still trust. Who can get the feel in the riders. Maybe spread a good word?" The warning is duly noted with a lip-twitch that's nearly a frown. "We ain't known to be the closest, bestest friends. Neither you nor Kaitlin no M'ron. Reckon you can talk 'em around to helping me out, I reckon Lanvec'll be plenty pleased with them. Helping me helps all of us." Her gaze is active, flicking from Jo to scanning the surroundings and back again: threat monitoring. "The faster I can get Glacier behind me, and as many wings as possible, the better we go. If I rise, my friends go up with me. Get my meaning?"

Jo's watching. She's listening with her sharp gaze equally studying their surroundings, used to scanning for any threats herself. She sniffs when fellow convict riders M'ron and Kaitlin are brought up, saying with a touch of dryness and arrogance as she absently straightens up her black riding jacket against her wiry form, "They always fall in line behind me. Kaitlin's vapid enough that she'll do whatever I ask of her, and M'ron will bluster, but he'll follow. I can make it worth his while." Now she fits a sidelong look onto one of the new Weyrleaders, studying her and weighing what she says to the woman beside her. Then, "So ya won' be exposin' us?" She lays that proverbial card on the table, that being on her mind the most.

"That's what I reckon, that you'd be able to handle them." Is that... pride in Taikrin's voice? Acknowledgement, maybe, of a job well-done? Her arms fold across her chest, to complement the easy smile that spreads across her sharp features. "Now why would I do a thing like that? Don't you reckon there'd be questions about who it was what put you on those dragons of yours? And whose clutch that was? Don't see as how it's any advantage to me." Her eyebrows raise. "Now, if it looks like Szad's oldest kids are doing real well, thriving even, well-- might be there's a bright future for all of us?"

Jo catches whatever it is she sees in her wingmate's face for her first with a light snort and something akin to that bold crooked smirk of her as she shakes her head and looks away. Arms folding across her chest, to the rest she drawls, "I was actually Searched, strange enough. Perhaps K'del's saw somethin' in me even I can' figure. But. I know yer loyalties have shifted in these past several turns, darlin'," and she glances a long look to Taikrin. "Told me yerself, more than once. Just coverin' all the bases, is all. In case I get any complicated questions from our mutual relatives later on." But, she seems reassured enough, for whatever tenseness that stiffened her frame seems to be loosening up. "I might be able to be useful, after all," she says now, nodding once as she looks back over the ledge. "Ya rise, we rise. I can get behind that. Keep our relatives happy, too. Sounds like fun."

"No reason everyone can't be happy. You, me, our Weyr, our friends. No reason we can't all benefit. It ain't about the loyalties." Taikrin grins, crooked-for-crooked, and eases off a casual half-step. "Ain't like I'm really asking much. Just, you know. Let me know what's what, things I might could do to make things easier on everyone. Maybe spread a good word or two?" On the next ledge over, Szadath briefly pokes his head up from where he's entangled himself again with Hraedhyth. Taikrin glances over, unfocuses, then laughs. "Szadath insists you let people know about how many eggs he's sired, too. He reckons there's a gold in one of 'em for sure."

"Easy said, like that," Jo muses to Taikrin on loyalties, passing a hand through her hair. "Even I find myself, sometimes....conflicted, these days." And admission, as it were. She nods to what's being asked of her, sealing with deal with a breezy, "Good words can be spread. Ya have the convicts on yer side, once I take them aside. Even the ones without dragons - Dov and them - they'll follow. Benefit for all, as ya say." She follows where Taikrin's gaze goes, and when she relays what was said, there's a huff of short laughter and a wry, "Always been one cocky bit, ain' he? It'll get relayed, he need not worry." Eyes find Taikrin's once more as she sets that topic aside for another, that being. "Brieli." Pause. "Wanted to know what ya make of her."

Taikrin's laugh is relaxed, easy, full of confidence-- she's genuinely pleased with Jo's response. "Sounds good, sounds like all I could ask for. More. This'll be good for us." Afterwards, she's quiet while she's considering the question. "What about her? Seems to be competent. Got her shit together. Why do you ask?"

Since Jo gives her word - her backing that the convicts associated with them in the Weyr would listen to her - that lopsided grin is an easy one as she responds, "Sounds like ya need more, indeed. I trust H'kon's not goin' to be a problem?" Beat. "I can tell he's the sort that would become one, if only to take over the leadership. He gave me that vibe whenever I've run into him." As to Brieli, the convict rider goes silent as she flicks a glance towards about them, letting her gaze linger as she answers, "Seems like....there's more to her than what's bein' seen. I get somethin' from her, especially last time. She's....different." Eyes narrow a fraction before she brings her attention back to Taikrin and clarifies her cryptic words with, "I dunno. Perhaps it's just a feelin'. It's not bad, just....I'm curious about her, I guess. Offered her my services, in case she needed someone dealt with," she notes with a look. "Looks like, ya offered her the same, too, accordin' to her."

"H'kon is a problem." Taikrin's expression -- her whole body -- tightens. "Brieli don't like him, but I think he might be able to manipulate Azaylia. And I reckon he's K'del's man to his bones." It takes some effort to stiffle the instinctive aggression, and to make an approximation of her previously easy manner. "You help me get the wings, and he won't end up being so much of a problem. Brieli's got... the right idea, I reckon, about a lot of things. But we'll see. I can work with her. And Azaylia, of course. But she's with us, I think."

Jo gives that knowing smirk, not looking the least bit surprised to hear about H'kon - nor in seeing Taikrin's ire rise about the other Weyrleader. "He might see a crazy bit like me helpin' ya out as an act of aggression," she notes, and there's amusement in her husky tone rather than a warning. And then, hearing K'del's name... "K'del's still involved?" News to her. "The wings'll fall. I and a few others can be pretty persuasive, there. And as for Brieli....I'll check her out when I get the chance. Been meanin' to, anyway."

"Ain't no reason for us to go waving it about his face, if you know what I'm saying." Her expression grows sour. "When is K'del not involved in trying to ruin everything? If he ain't behind the scenes causing trouble, then I'm a watchwher. Just... keep careful, yeah? We'll get through this, and we'll be able to make everything awesome." Taikrin glances over her shoulder again at Szadath, then twists her lips wryly. "Reckon I need to get. I need to make sure H'kon isn't feeding Azaylia any more strange ideas. But I'll catch up with you later, for celebrations?"

"It's interesting," Jo says in a deadpan voice, her amusement with the whole situation still lingering, "Hearin' about K'del. Perhaps I should offer him a healthy way to get out all of that aggression, hm?" Bad girl to the core, but she's quick to lift a chin at her wingmate and add, "Awesome. I'll take yer word for it." Eyes shift towards Szadath and when Taikrin mentions her need to depart, the bluerider's tucking that uncorked bottle back under her arm as she takes a step away. Head dipping briefly with her dark eyes glinting at some merriment, "I've got a job out towards Crom, but, afterwards I'll swing by and we'll live it up," she agrees, turning in preparation to depart. "Reckon I could use some celebratin' myself. I'll have Tac callin', darlin'."

Taikrin's smile flickers a little at mention of the job, but then she's waving and smiling and half turning away. "Sounds like a plan. See you later, when the work's done. Clear skies, yeah?"

Jo catches the flicker, but the convict rider can only stare back at Taikrin on it. There's not apology from this bluerider, in any case, nor remorse for what she does. She just lifts off a two finger salute to her wingmate and heads on off the ledge, sending back over her shoulder, "Always clear for me, darlin'. Always."
