It was during the period that followed, as her father attempted to find a new (and, perhaps, better) match for her, that searchriders from High Reaches arrived, and proposed an alternative plan. Mielline's father was less keen, but his daughter's enthusiasm swayed him, and the girl departed for the weyr the same day. When the eggs hatched, she Impressed blue Corobith, taking to the rider life like a duck to water. She'd been Wingsecond of Snowdrift for only a turn when the Comet Falls commenced, and was promoted to Wingleader a few months after they finally ended, her Wingleader having decided it was high time for a proper retirement. %r%rMielline has turned the skills she was raised with to use within her wing, now that the Interval is in full swing, though the end result is anything but traditional. Unconventional though it may sometimes seem, Snowdrift is hard to overlook as an excellent example of what an Interval wing can be.
