Despite the arrival of the self-proclaimed heir of Fort\\\, Cyrek\\\, much of Fort Hold's affairs still seem to be managed by the steward\\\, as it has been since Vaion passed. Gossip circulates a number of plausible explanations from the steward enjoying his brief taste of power too much to wondering if Cyrek's apparent concern with endearing himself to his people doesn't extend to also working for them. Perhaps there's a simpler explanation though; perhaps Cyrek simply isn't able to substantiate his claim.
