Just months after former Weyrwoman Satiet went Between with her queen, leaving the Weyrwoman's knot to Tiriana, Iovniath rose in her maiden flight. The new senior pair had decided on A'son and Nikoth as their choice for Weyrleader, but that pair had a different idea: A'son stabbed himself to get away. In the resultant confusion, it was K'del's Cadejoth who caught the queen, catapulting K'del into the Weyrleader position on his seventeenth turnday.
Although the new Weyrleaders were at odds, and the Weyr was unsure about both of them, their dragons nonetheless produced a large clutch of sixteen eggs. When those eggs hatched, High Reaches added two bronzes, four browns, four blues and six greens to their roster.
