Illumination casts flickering patterns of reflection along the deeply rich, reddish-bronze dragon like fire within glass, an echo of the volatile brilliance in his wide-set eyes. There's a distinct crest to his neck, long and lean like the rest of him; sharply defined ridges' darkness brightens to each jagged, still-molten tip, while onyx talons seem perennially chipped. His glassy wings are nearly as dark, approaching obsidian when sunlight doesn't shine through them, their fine sails chased with even more coppery highlights that glimmer vibrantly from leading edge to trailing tips.

Schrodinger's Egg
From one angle, this egg is nothing but a smooth canvas of sandy brown. On the other side it is a far more grave view. Green is spattered like a radioactive spill sprawling across the suede surface. Its sickly, glowing colour gives the illusion of a deadly poison, unnaturally bright and violently thrown across the belly of the egg.
Schrodinger's Egg suddenly cracks, a dark onyx claw piercing through the shell. Rather than sending pieces everywhere, a loud crunching sound is heard and the Molten Glass Bronze Dragonet wriggles out of his prison proving that despite the paradox of his egg, he is indeed very much alive.
Molten Glass Bronze Hatchling
Illumination casts firey patterns of reflection that dot the sides of this deeply rich, reddish-bronze dragonet's bulk which promises only to get larger with time. His ridges are sharply defined, sharp and jagged which at the moment are intensely bright and fading only once they hit the deeper color of his reddish bronze hide. Appearing molten and bright bronze, with time and growth his color will darken and leave those bursts of bright bronze looking like he was made out of a piece of forever cooling glass. Once again, the flame ignites in dark ruddy hues to extend the length of his long tail, culminating abruptly at the fork. Capturing night's shroud, his wings glimmer with those same coppery highlights to press away the nightfall, tracing a vibrant path from leading edge to trailing tips.
Temperament
He's a difficult dragon to predict, your Vhaeryth. The term mercurial is one of the many terms you'll quickly come to associate with him. He'll keep you on your toes with his witty observations about your clutchmates (« Kaimyth's wings look lopsided, is that normal? », about other riders (« I hear the Weyrleader is much more amiable to suggestion after a few drinks. »), and even other people, (« What does a 'wench' do, and why do you keep wondering when she'll finish her kitchen shift? »). He's by no means one of those dragons that ignores people - quite the opposite, in fact, he finds them fascinating. It's probably the /timing/ of the comments that you'll find most difficult to adjust to - he has a flair for the dramatic, telling you something awkward or keenly insightful or just plain amusing when you're sipping hot tea, or about to tell a girl you like her, or trying to have a serious conversation.
While his curiosity isn't nearly as irrepressible as his dam's, he has her fascination for discovering new things. He'll take a lot of cues from you on what /this/ thing or /that/ thing is for, and he'll believe you wholeheartedly. While young, you'll find, sometimes without you even realizing it, he'll suddenly be /right in your head/, listening. You'll find he follows your thought patterns and digs into things even you're not aware of - which could prove awkward. While he probably won't ever deliberately psychoanalyse you, some pointed, innocuous questions may make it seem otherwise. When he gets tired - which will be all the time when he's young - it happens quickly. He'll be full of energy one moment and exhausted the next, and he's not in the least fussy about /where/ he is when he decides it's time to rest, limbs splayed all ungainly. (Aren't dragons supposed to be graceful and neat? Someone forgot to tell Vhaeryth that.) You'll probably find yourself more than once trying to urge him to move out of the middle of the lake shore path, to let people by, to little avail.
As he grows older, Vhaeryth's interest in your thoughts begins to expand further. You'll discover he has a bit of a penchant for social experiments. He's interested in what makes things /tick/, and if you don't know the answer, he'll seek it elsewhere. He may nudge and prod and poke like someone worrying at a sore tooth, a trait that might well frustrate both yourself and the current object of his interest. Vhaeryth's a social dragon by nature, and he'll probably be one of the dragons around whom others like to flock for his canny ways and sharp witticisms. It'll make him a lot of friends, and stand him in good favor with wingmates. As long as he understands the /need/ to follow orders, he'll fall in line. There'll always be that little, younger part of him that might want to do otherwise, though... just to see what happens.
In flights - not to mention the lead up to them - Vhaeryth likes to make grand gestures in the hopes of impressing his particular lady. Inviting her out on the hunt and letting /her/ get the best kill? Encouraging her up on to the star stones just as the sun sets with a subtle cuddle of wings? All perfectly reasonable courses of action in getting her attention. After all, « Ideas you believe are absurd ultimately lead to success! » Of course, he's not picky - he is a bronze, after all - and he'll never be a one-dragon-suitor, that's for sure. Should he be lucky enough to win a gold, you'll find he's inherited Isyath's lack of parental instinct - he'll never really be a doting dad, though he will, if you apply the right pressure, help guard the eggs, if only for the experience of watching the things grow.
Overall, you'll probably find your Vhaeryth both fascinating and frustrating, sometimes at the same time. When he feels strongly about things and gets set on an idea, you'll find yourself hard pressed to change his mind - but then that swings both ways, too. His commentary on the world around him will open your eyes up to new things, providing a unique, draconic perspective on your new life.
Public Impression Message
Molten Glass Bronze Hatchling circles his way around another batch of candidates, creeping up behind them. Something... yes. Something's finally caught his attention long enough that he's coming in for a closer look. That young lad with dark, curly hair... that's the /one/, and he sidles in close enough to scatter any other candidates nearby.
Private Impression Message
The sound of metal clanging against metal is in your head, the taste of blood in your mouth. « It is time to take control of your life, N'rov. » The voice is familiar, somehow. Like your father's, like your brother's, but somehow neither. But still, familiar. « No more standing on the sidelines. No more waiting for things to happen. » The bronze's presence spills over you like a shock to the system. He's in your head, and you in his: you can almost see yourself through his gaze. It is dizzying, confusing: overwhelming. But his presence steadies you. He is the calm in the storm. « It is time. » Though he doesn't say his name, you know it, somehow, in your head already. He is Vhaeryth. He is yours.
Mindvoice
Quick of wit and sharp of tongue is Vhaeryth, and his mental voice reflects this. He loves the joust of a verbal riposte - some would claim he loves to argue, but it's rare that he's fuelled by anger rather than a need to 'win'. His voice is the clash of swords, metal clanging on metal, the battlecry of a thousand voices, the heat of a furious, raging battle. He loves to fill your head with inspiration messages that are sometimes apt witticisms (« Your mouth may be moving, but nobody is listening. ») and sometimes pure nonsense (« Dream lofty dreams, and as you dream, so shall you become. »).
Dragon Inspirations
Vhaeryth draws his inspiration from a couple of characters. He's a good dose of Logan Echolls from Veronica Mars (as soon as you mentioned flair for the dramatic, passion and joy in life, it made me think of him), and a dash of Sherlock Holmes (nosy, intelligent, and dreadful - or perhaps perfect - sense of timing.) There also may have been a shade of Eastern Philosophy in there (via http://www.fortunecookiemessage.com/) for some of his more 'inspirational' thoughts! His desc was inspired by this.
Egg Inspiration: Schrodinger's Cat. It's a paradox. You put a cat in a sealed box along with a flask of poison and a radioactive source - and BlahBlahBlah the cat is simultaneously alive and dead until the box is opened.
Name Meaning
I agonized for a long time over your dragon's name. One of your preferences was for a Vh-name, and you wanted something that was both easy to pronounce and type. Vhaeryth won out in the end!
