Past Dynamics

Historically, Boreal Wing hasn't been known for its inclusive policies. Bronzes and browns have long been looked towards as the prime targets for their recruitment, with the occasional blue or green taken in along the way. And while there have been riders of other colors, the Wingleadership trends towards bronzeriders or riders that were themselves male. Females are not often given a fair shake to prove themselves in this wing.

The heavy hitting composition of the wing has remained largely unchanged (what has changed exactly?) throughout the Interval and even during the Comet Pass. So while Boreal has never been applauded for its progressive forward movement, it does have a certain sense of stability that has served it well.

History and Present Day Dynamics

In Turn 31, Boreal became nicknamed the "Traitor Wing" when the actions of Wingleader N'mos and his Wingsecond S'varis came to light. Behind the back of the Weyrleadership, the pair conspired to convince Teris of Telgar to return to High Reaches and take up the position of Senior Weyrwoman. Following their long-term grounding, H'kon promoted Z'ian to the unenviable position of Wingleader to the headstrong wing.

Upon accepting the position, the bronzerider tapped two of Boreal's more senior riders, F'ren and Oisa into a dual Wingsecond position. With their help Z'ian has taken to rooting out the more troublesome individuals from Boreal and managing a rider exchange with one or two other friendly Wingleaders in an attempt to undercut any more conspiracy plots from the untrustworthy wing.

While there were many in the wing unhappy with the current shake ups (and certainly not happy with Z'ian's participation in the disposal of their leaders) there was also an undercurrent of interest in the possibility of change within Boreal for the future.

Z'ian's ascent to Weyrleader made change seem eminently possible... but all was put aside, after the accident towards the end of Turn 32 that left the Wing in the hands of once-Wingsecond Oisa.
