K'del-player is a New-Zealand-Born Australian, and has been playing Pern since 1998. She has been playing at NorCon since the split from PernMUSH, has been part of the HRW staff team since February 2009, and became head admin in mid-2009. She has/has had far too many PCs, and still keeps coming up with more ideas.

She likes: gradual character development, shades-of-grey 'heroes' and 'villains', and hacking mediawiki. She can (probably) answer any wiki question you have, and remembers way too much about HRW history. She really, really likes categorising things, which is funny because, in real life, she's a librarian who hates classification schemes (search interfaces for the win!).

She also likes to write things in third-person, and could talk about her characters all day, but will try not to.

Characters Past and Present

	Madilla (April 2008 - present) Madilla was originally created for search-and-Impression (I was hoping for gold), but ended up taking on a life of her own as a crafter. I played her first at Healer Hall on PernMUSH, and when the NorCon/PernMUSH split happened, moved her to HRW on NorCon. In retrospect, dragonrider Madilla may have been miserable, but healer Madilla? Totally content.
	K'del (August 2008 - present) K'del (Kasadel) was created to apply for HRW's search. He was supposed to Impress (what I didn't mind: I applied with no colour preferences) and then die during weyrlinghood, clearing the way for a later Madilla Impression. He... didn't. This was partially because Cadejoth was awesome, and partially because Tiriana asked me to be Weyrleader. And partially because I was a wuss, and killing characters is hard, okay?
	Nyavah (June 2009 - August 2009) Nyavah was created as part of the Nabol project, a short-lived attempt to play hold-based political drama. Sadly, hold-based things are difficult to create momentum with, and the whole thing fell apart, but for a little while, Nyavah was a scheming, ambitious and just not-as-well-placed-as-she-would-like Blood. No doubt she's now unhappily married to Fitz.
	Uillean (August 2010 - October 2010) Uillean was created during a quiet period in HRW's history, and was 'secret' in as much as I didn't openly confirm or deny that she was mine. She had ties to Crom - High Reaches' old enemy - and might have lasted longer if I weren't quietly burning out.
	Rilka (April 2011 - August 2011) 'Crazy' Rilka was created to be part of the Exile plot that begin in April 2011. She was never going to be a long-term character: her mental instability made her difficult to fit into scenes, though she was great for adding occasional colour. She continued to be referenced long after the exiles arrived at High Reaches Weyr; eventually, I imagine she followed a number of exiles to High Reaches Hold, where she continues to ghost around to this day.
	Tomaeran (April 2011 - October 2011) Tomaeran was created to get more involved in the Exile plot. Self-absorbed and callously indifferent to other people, he earned a lot of enemies... but still had his human side. He was supposed to Impress as an insta-candidate (to blue Lykarioth, inspired by Tyrion Lannister from Game of Thrones), but as we had no non-exiles to Impress, I elected to go for something different. He's now totally marrying Lady Edeline's step-daughter, so good for him.
	Quinlys (August 2011 - present) Quinlys was a Tomaeran-replacement, though a very different one. She was designed to be a true-blue Weyr type; I'd originally expected her to be anti-exile, but she ended up feeling a lot of sympathy for Iolene, and that changed things dramatically. I pushed her towards AWLM duties as a way to have a more personal character involved than Meara (who is really a staff-run NPC); she's now co-Weyrlingmaster and will probably take over completely sooner rather than later, even if she does still have personal demons to defeat. Like ego.
	I'kris (September 2012 - November 2012 (deceased)) I'kris was created to murder Iolene. Mostly, I wanted to create a murderer who wasn't 'evil': someone people could feel for. He may have been wrong... but that didn't make him an evil, moustache-twirling villain. He's the first character I've had that has died on camera. And, okay, yes: it made me cry. May he rest in peace... and not pieces, as I originally typed.
