S'mon (Symon) and Green Riveth
Rocking back and forth, back and forth, the I Can Kill You With My Mind Egg take an abbreviated pause, as if holding it's breath and waiting for something. Suddenly, it begins to spin about and hop around, flinging sand over the other nearby eggs. Large chunks of something begin to join the flung Sand as a quiet cracking sound is joined by a *thunk* here and there, the shards of shell beginning to fall away. Before long a red-eyed, angry-looking lanky green is revealed. Not taking even a moments hesitation, she makes a direct line right down the center of the Sands to a tall, handsome, dark-haired former Healer apprentice, Symon, who just nods at her knowingly. "Riveth," Says S'mon matter-of-factly. Impression is made.
Vivy and Blue Gibryth
The Instant Improvisation Egg falls over on it's side and just lays there. Then it rolls down out of the mound and onto the flatter area of the Sands, a bit closer to the Candidates. It shakes a bit more, wiggling it's way towards the white-clad group as a tap-tap-tapping can be heard. Tap. Tap-tap-tap-wiggle. Before the Candidates really can adjust to this, the egg begins rolling again. Roll, wiggle, roll, wiggle, tap-tap-tap... right into a group of four girls. The tapping becomes more urgent and a crack forms around the circumference, the shell bursting quickly in two, revealing a brilliant little blue dragonet. He looks directly up into the eyes of a cheerful, brown-eyed girl named Vivy who laughs with delight as she addresses him by name, "Gibryth!"
J'ffny (Joffny) and Blue Wayth
While other eggs pop all around him, the Fantastic Voyages Egg sits unmoving, warm and safe in it's own little mound on the Sands. Only when a few grains of sand fall away from it's surface is any hint that there is a living creature in this egg revealed. While attention is on the activity all around, this egg quietly exposes itself with tiny shakes and shivers. It takes a good long while, but the shell becomes exposed only to find that hairline fractures are covering the surface. Before anyone can notice, the shards gently fall away like snow leaving a calm, complacent, rotund little blue dragonet sitting boredly on the Sands. He looks about, seeming to smack his jaws slightly as he eyes the Candidates. Eyes get a tinge of red as his stomach rumbles. Looking to his left, he spies the closest boy, a lad that looks eerily round like himself. With a grunt, he gets up and moves over, plopping himself unceremonially in front of Joffny, the son of a Baker with bright red hair. J'ffny eyes him warily before announcing his name more in the form of a question than a statement, "Wayth?" Impression is made.
Y'var and Blue Dorth
Shimmying around within its own little rounded bed of sand, the Otherworldly Porthole Egg seems to be looking for a way out of this whole Hatching mess. Around and around it goes, then it jerks forward a few inches and comes to an uneasy stop, before jolting forward again. A jagged line makes its way around the top of the egg and pressure from inside pushes it open, a tiny cerulean hatchling making his way out to find a lanky blond lad. "Dorth? Yes we'll get you some food straightaway!" exclaims Y'var.
Andamy and Brown Queth
Hop. Skip. Jump. There goes the Q egg, seeming to check things out with a couple of other eggs nearby. It rolls on by, end over end and comes to rest briefly against a leftover mound of sand, laden with colorful shards. Restless, the Q egg doesn't stay long, spinning away faster and faster until the shell cracks so much that it can't hold together anymore and disintegrates into tiny pieces in a long trail as its occupant is ejected. Tumbling head over tail like a little ball, the rotund brown within finally comes to a dizzy stop. He takes a second to catch his breath, then practically pounces on the feet of a tall girl standing very close by. Andamy throws her arms around his eggy neck, declaring "Queth!! You found me!"
Kassey and Green Blyth
You'd think there was music coming from inside the Festival of Fellowship egg, the way it's dancing around on the Sands! It spins this way, it spins that way, it shimmies, it shakes, it hops back, it hops forward, what in the world is going on in there? A piece of shell pops off, revealing a little claw. Another piece on the other side, and there's a foot! The foot is pushing at the sand, forcing the egg to move around in a circle as the creature inside struggles to get out. Now and again, piece after piece of shell fall away to reveal yet another body part of the dragonet. There's the snout, the tail, what color is it anyway? Finally she's just laying there, covered in leftover shards from her own shell, even seeming to be giggling at her green self as she catches her breath. Hatching is hard work! Oooh, what's that? A rumble comes from her belly and she sits straight up, eyes twirling red with concern. She hops to her feet and charges her way down the Sands, practically skipping as she beelines it for a group of girls. She looks at this one, nope. Too frowny. That one? Nope, too nervous. How about... YOU! She butts her head against the hip of a chubby, short girl from Nabol named Kassey, who says with startled suprise, "Blyth? Blyth? Really?"
Tally and Blue Sperth
The Ghostly Spindle Egg only seems like it's moving. Really it's not, no siree bob, not me. That shimmering around it? Not movement, nope, nope, nope. And yet the egg is vibrating as if its occupant is humming along with the older dragons perched around the Sands. Those vibrations eventually disintegrate the shell, wisping it away as so much dust except for one large piece under the pale blue dragonet left standing on it as if on a platter. The little fellow sits there, humming still, eyes fast closed and then dares to crack open an eyelid. Ohmygosh! People! His eye closes again, but then something attracts his attention and slowly, carefully, he drifts over to a short, plump girl with fat blonde braids and curls up around her legs. Delighted, Tally runs her hands over his eyeridges and clearly announces his name, chin lifted proudly. "/This/ is Sperth." The final Impression of the night is made.
