FTW:Candidacy FAQ
Candidacy for Fort's summer 2015 Search will run from TBD.
This is a time for all of us to get to know each other better and for applicants to explore the challenges and development that being a candidate and possibly a weyrling provides. We encourage feedback at all times and hope to provide applicants with an enjoyable experience as candidates. Please feel free to contact the Weyr admin at any time with questions, concerns or ideas regarding candidacy.
Please note that ICly, existing residents of the Weyr do not need to take up residence in the barracks. They may do so if they wish to have the opportunity to bond with outWeyr candidates, however, the barracks are primarily available for the use of non-Weyr candidates.
All candidates staying in the barracks may pick a cot to use and are issued a pillow, two sets of sheets, a thinner blanket and a heavy woolen blanket for personal use during candidacy. Candidates who lack adequate clothing will be supplied with hand-me-downs from Stores by the Headwoman. All hand-me-downs will be in reasonably good condition, though some may have visible repairs. Color and pattern choices will be limited to what is on hand in the right sizes at the time. Candidates who do not impress and elect to return to their original homes are expected to return all bedding and clothing in reasonable condition at the end of candidacy. New weyrlings and candidates who do not impress and elect to remain at the Weyr are welcome to keep bedding and clothing issued to them during Candidacy.
Coordinators
The first point of contact for candidates OOCly, are their candidate coordinators. OOC, candidate coordinators handle any questions candidates might have about candidacy or the search process, coordinate and aid in event ideas candidates may have.
The CCs for this class are: tbd.
IC, candidates are the responsibility of the Weyrwoman and the Headwoman and her staff. They are responsible for seeing that candidates are ICly settled into the barracks, keeping track of their chore performances, enforcing rules and providing guidance to the candidate group.
