This dragonrider cuts an imposing figure, tall with impossibly long legs and firm muscles built distinctly over the years. Wild, blonde curls are often left down to frame her features, the most distinctive of which is her lips, of which the top lip is thin against a fuller bottom lip, though both are often painted in a bright red. Her brows are thin, precise arches which lend themselves to expressive movements, at a sharp angle above hooded, soft blue eyes. Her cheeks are full, her jaw rounded, and her chin has a little dimple in it.
She is rarely without a bright, red leather riding jacket to match her lips. Otherwise, she tends towards minimalism and clothing that does not interfere; tight black pants and simple, sleeveless white tunics.
Olivya was raised as the middle child and only daughter of Sunrise Cliff Seahold, which looks to Monaco, with an older brother and two younger. Her older brother, Odren, was her father's acknowledged heir, but Olivya was the best and brightest of the brood, without any bias. She was smart and determined, and secretly harbored a desire to prove that she could hold at Sunrise Cliff. But then Evielth rose at the Weyr and laid a golden egg. Olivya was the hold-bred option put forward for the new queen, under the adage that queens prefer those raised in a hold.
This queen did not, choosing Corisa's granddaughter instead. Olivya would have been relieved at just that, except before the hatching was through, a darkly green decided that she was the one. Olivya and Ivraeth flourished in weyrlinghood, given an advantage by her private tutors and extensive lessons in diplomacy with a natural mark of leadership to the greenrider.
She settled easily and competently into a wing afterwards, a markedly competent rider. However, being a greenrider, there was never much thought (at least on the rest of the Weyr's part) about the woman's ambitions. Olivya had them, though. She could not be Weyrleader, but she could work her way through the ranks, with an eye to eventually become Weyrlingmaster, the highest rank she thought she could possibly attain.
Except that her first promotion was marred in gossip and drama. By turn 29, she'd started an affair with her bronzeriding wingleader, H'xas. By turn 30, he'd promoted her to his wingsecond. Her own dramas were quickly eclipsed by global events, with the death of a Weyrwoman and a Monacoan rider's conviction in the matter, the brother of her best friend.
Olivya's promotion to wingleader would be overshadowed by bigger political events as well. M'kris, having won Weyrleadership and deporting an entire wing from Monaco, would then go on to give Olivya her own wing in turn 34. Given her relationship with the last man to promote her, there were a number of people willing to start making accusations that Olivya and M'kris were sleeping together, while the kinder rumors attributed her promotion to being because of her friendship with Mirinda.
For two years, Olivya struggled as a wingleader, with little of her wing willing to ever take her seriously because of untrue rumors. In turn 36, she had enough and gave up her knot only to move into the position of an assistant weyrlingmaster instead of waiting for the true position that she wanted.
