History

Delifa originally hails from High Reaches: her family all reside in the lower caverns of the weyr, and have done so for as many generations as anyone has records for. As a pre-teen, she showed aptitude for the healer craft, and, at thirteen, was given permission to thravel to the healer hall, where she apprenticed. Though she'd initially intended to request a posting back home as soon as she was able, she discovered a passion for teaching, as well as for pharmacy, in the turns that followed, and her ambitions began to change. Ultimately, after walking the tables just before her twentieth turnday, she remained at the Hall, teaching some of the pharmacy classes.

Known for being a hard taskmaster, but also a talented teacher, Delifa spent many turns teaching at the Hall, ultimately taking over many of the younger classes due to her skills in dealing with teens and pre-teens. When she was thirty-eight, however, a posting at High Reaches Weyr came up, and in view of the recent death of her father, and her mother's advanced age, she selected to offer her name up for it, and eventually won the position. She took with her a young apprentice, Madilla (PC), to whom she had taken a shine, and has since become a fixture in the High Reaches Infirmary.

Two turns later, a chance meeting with a childhood friend of hers - Ellervan, now L'van, rider of blue Viarisuth - resulted in a surprisingly intense romance. It was only a few months later when Delifa discovered she was pregnant, and though she had always been healthy, her age caused a number of complications, eventually resulting in the pre-mature birth of her (surprise) twins, and, sadly, the death of one of them.
