So it turned out that flying was an ''excellent'' way to drain Lythronath's energy. The barracks were a calmer place in month 4, with Lythronath spending much of his time napping, mostly because A'rist had him spending the rest of his time doing physical things. The peace and quiet had, at times, seen some of the personality demonstrated by Aoristen in candidacy (more personable, and occasionally even playful) surfacing, but there's certainly a new gravitas that seemed - now things had settled - to be a permanent change. There were also hormones, though, and A'rist, despite his efforts, had been demonstrating his fifteen turns, occasionally brooding over clashes with other weyrlings, or finding sharp words slipping out.

There was very little public reaction from A'rist to his receipt of the silver thread, though some may have seen him, very, very carefully, weaving it into his weyrling knot one night after Lythronath had fallen asleep.

Jocelyn vacillates between glowering and generally appearing rather uncomfortable as month four begins to give way to month five. Word in the corridors is that she's taking extra etiquette lessons after someone spotted her gritting her teeth through stumbling over dance steps and walking arm-in-arm with harpers through empty classrooms a couple of afternoons per seven. As little as those classes (and following very pregnant Farideh around) please her, she approaches drills and other practical applications of theory with more enthusiasm - that is to say, a lack of grumbling. Frazzled isn't quite the right word for the redhead just yet, but she's openly frustrated and even more apt to keep to herself as the stacks of notes and reports in her press seem to multiply overnight.

With Aidavanth nearly the size of a fully-grown, if tiny green, the pair still spends far more time bathing and oiling than their peers. Where her weyrling is markedly more moody this month, the fledgling queen remains as approachable and good-natured as ever. She enthusiastically trades jokes and shares in her classmates' triumphs; equally intently does she look on while Jocelyn writes and studies all the way up until it's time for lights out.
