Recap

Weyrling Program
Month6

Alida

C'wlin

D'kan

All too happy to pass off wingleading duties to C'wlin, D'kan spent most of the month in relative relaxation. Sure, the physical training continued to get more intense, but that was all right. Flying with Kazavoth continued to improve. Continued to be absolutely freaking awesome! It wasn't all rosy, though. It was a big month, the month when the weyrlings were allowed to move into weyrs of their own. Exciting! Unless you're D'kan, who was terrified. Sure, he'd be sharing a weyr with Kazavoth, which helped. But what about when Kazavoth went flying? Or hunting? D'kan would be all alone, oh Faranth.

Okay, it wasn't quite that simple, but this a recap, right? Luckily, he has good people looking out for him, and some very wise people to give advice. It was after a chat with Leova that the brownrider bit the Pern-equivalent bullet and went off to stake a weyr-claim. One of, if not the last to do so, but who's counting? At least he was moved out of the barracks before the month ended, though not before Kazavoth managed to make a total mess of the place (which D'kan had to clean up... including fixing up a cot really quickly that had belonged Quielle) while exploding a song all over the conscious dragons of the Weyr. Ten points from House Kazavoth, but yes, they whistle while they work.

E'sren

E'sren's been taking the rotation of weyrling wingleaders and wingseconds with characteristic adaptability. He endured C'wlin's demands and was one of the stronger performers at drills and any other physical aspects, proving to be as efficient when it comes to that stuff as he is with academics.

Getting his own weyr was a big step for him. He went from always sleeping either in the same wagon as his family or at least half of them, or sleeping close enough that he could hear them all, to sleeping in the barracks with all the other weyrlings. There were some hard nights where sleep didn't come so easily, and he still has some trouble; often he can be found on the bench on his ledge, staring up at the stars, wrapped up in a blanket.

He and Sabella may have been caught holding hands now and again when they don't think anyone is paying attention or cares. They still spend a lot of time together, finishing each other's sentences and making each other laugh at their own inside jokes. Telavi is included in that part most of the time, the three of them cracking up over some whispered comment from either one.

Ahruth has taken to flying as effortlessly as anyone could have guessed. He is perfect in flight by now, and can be seen practicing elaborate aerial maneuvers without his rider. For now.

K'zin

N'hax

N'ky

The beginning of month six didn't start overly well for N'ky, who found himself overwhelmed and unable to properly balance the pressure of his wing duties, weyrling lectures, private Harper classes (he still hasn't tested out of remedial Maths, though he's doing better with History), lessons with Madilla, and extra studying to be prepared for the wingleader knot that, according to rumour, he's turned down once... though given the mess he's been for near enough the past two months, he would have been in next to no state to lead anyone.

With no prior warning, Day 15 saw him stop attending Flurry's drills in order to train with Cirrus, under their wingleader for the month, Aisha. It's a temporary arrangement but it seems to be working for him, if not for anyone else.

N'ky was amongst the last of the weyrlings to go hunting for a new weyr, missing out on the organised trips due to his extra work. On Day 17, he persuaded D'kan to go weyrhunting with him, claiming a small, shadowy, draughty location as high up the weyr as possible. By Day 18, he'd moved in.

The rest of the month was smooth as silk for him - moving to Cirrus and shadowing the wing's greenrider leaders, Aisha and J'madri, certainly had a positive impact on N'ky; the change seemed to be exactly what he needed to get back on track - there have even been rumours of him hooking up with one of Cirrus's blueriders, April, and the two of them being frequently spotted together at mealtimes is doing nothing to dispel them.

By the end of the month, he'd even made up with K'zin... just in time for him to be handed a wingleader knot, to take charge of Flurry in Month 7.
