Recap

Weyrling Program
Month1
Sometimes, it's hard to keep up with exactly what is going on with other PCs, and, even when we know what is going on, it's not always easy to know how much of it we might have ICly noticed. This page is designed to provide a place for to lay out anything other weyrlings (and the weyrling staff) might know about what is going on with your character. If you've written a vignette that you think sums things up, feel free to link to it. Otherwise, you can write a few lines, a paragraph or two, or even nothing at all (this is wholly optional).

A new page will put up each IC month.

Any questions, just ask!

Alida

For the first 10 days after Impression, Alida was a walking zombie of sorts, due to Ilicaeth's ferocious itchiness all over his hide that regular oil couldn't cure for long enough for her to get solid sleep. That was recently aided a good deal by a special, thicker and richer oil suggested by Azaylia, through Hraedhyth. Alida has also become a little more chatty in general...which means she's still not as interactive as the average person, of course. She's still as tough and gruff as ever in most instance, though she has been seen on occasion to be 'cuddly' with Ilicaeth, and perhaps even sort-of kind to K'zin and N'ky. As usual, not much of what she's really feeling or thinking shows up on her face or in her words.

C'wlin

Summary: C'wlin and Athimeroth are much like any baby dragon / rider pair, self-absorbed into their own internal changes. C'wlin is slowly gaining a touch of Athimeroth's aloofness, though retains much else that makes C'wlin Ceawlin.

Month 1 WYSK:

  • Both bronze and bronzerider keep the secret of Arekoth's "sneaky" feeding.
  • Athimeroth tolerates but does not seem to really put much effort into initiating the gossip that occurs among dragons.
  • If anything, C'wlin seems more exhausted these days than ever before -- easily chalked up to taking care of a baby dragon.
  • Athimeroth's anarchist ways are only slowly emerging. Most struggles, if not all, are also chalked up to a baby dragon's lack of understanding in why certain things must be done.
  • If there is one thing for sure in any situation that Athimeroth is a part of, that is he is the first to find, claim and hold the highest ground.
  • Anything else, it's anyone's guess as to what will hold Athimeroth's attention.
  • C'wlin... seems to continue keeping his own council / secrets. Contemplative of his circumstances, perhaps.

D'kan

For the first part of the month, D'kan might have seemed a little withdrawn, though that can easily be chalked up to the same plunge everyone's had to take into their new lives. Now that he and Kazavoth have had a few sevens to get into their own routine, the weyrling has relaxed considerably, though he still tends to hang back. He's attentive when engaged, but he hasn't done much engaging on his own, greatly preferring to keep his attention on his lifemate. It might be worth noting that he hasn't been as quick as others to condemn Aishani now she's revealed her real name, but his defenses of her have remained closer to neutral logic and devil's advocate than all-out support. He hasn't outright told anyone what he thinks, aside from some conversations of the philosophical sort.

Kazavoth, meanwhile, is one of the more active and chatty dragons in the group. He and his rider can often be seen at almost any time day or night walking the grounds, whether it's pacing inside the weyrling complex or making a wide circuit of the Weyr's perimeter. If he's awake and in the vicinity, it's likely he's making his presence known along the mindlink in one form or another, often as a wordless (but not aimless) tune. At this point in time, he is mostly jovial and unassuming, though he's not afraid to crack a joke at another's expense. It's meant in good fun, though not always taken that way. Kazavoth is on the bright side, and has a strong grasp of, and presence in, that draconic link, which he may use to his advantage or to entirely dismiss and ignore. He is the fledgling arbiter, but for now he's just playing around. Also, thanks to Arekoth, he became the first of this clutch's dragons to kill his own wherry, though he did not come away from it unscathed.

E'sren

K'zin

In the first few weeks, K'zin was mostly just confused. He was his usual good-humored self, but watching the other weyrlings interact with their dragons, he began to feel a bit left out simply because his lifemate is not very outwardly affectionate. So that paired with usual adjustment pains had him looking confused more often than not. He speaks little about his lifemate, sharing few personal details, which might seem a bit off since that's the topic du jour for so many. When asked, he'll say that Rasavyth is strong, intelligent, charming, and funny. The fact that Ras has been telling dirty jokes since his first seven is no secret. It's also no secret that K'zin won a hefty bet on his own Impression and Ras is planning on spending every mark of his now sizable (for a former senior apprentice) life savings on new clothes. His friendship with N'ky has been strained since hatching, improving on the 16th day of month 4.

Like the other weyrlings, K'zin is tired, and spends most of his time in the company of his new lifemate. They are often seen walking the bowl together, the bronze looking aristocratic, the boy looking thoughtful (or like his ears should be smoking)! K'zin is also quite strict about adhering to an exercise routine and has impressed upon Ras the importance of this, so they do it together, almost every day.

Rasavyth

Initial impressions of Rasavyth's mind will show a shimmery transparent ooze that quickly adapts to whatever sounds, smells, or textures presented by the other's mind. When speaking with a group, he tailors his interactions to all in turn. The only thing that sets his reflections apart from the original is a thin sheen of transparent oozy charm that fills in available gaps or sits upon the surface. His words are always clever, charming, and measured. His voice is a pleasant, purring tenor. There's almost always amusement whether open or veiled. He seems a very good-natured, friendly sort of fellow. There might be something about his touch that makes dragons a little uncomfortable, but it's not anything that can be named or readily identified, just something. Otherwise, he's everyone's friend, enjoys a good joke, and is quite polite. Physically, Rasavyth doesn't care for exercise or strain but does it because his lifemate insists. His oversized wings make him a bit clumsy and not the strongest or fastest of the weyrlings.

N'hax

N'ky

The most noticeable thing about N'ky is his sudden discomfort around long-term best friend K'zin. Despite the strength of their friendship before the hatching, he's been avoiding the new bronze rider and things have definitely been... well, strained. As of just past the halfway through the month mark, though (day 16, to be precise), things seem to have got better.

With everyone else he's been no different than usual; a little more tired than before, perhaps, and more relaxed in most cases, though he has had a couple of angry outbursts, that are very unlike the rarely-roused pre-Impression Nicky.

N'ky is rarely seen without Cailluneth, and when they're together they're nearly always touching, if he isn't actually carrying her. They clearly have a very strong connection. For those that have experienced it (Ilicaeth, for example, when he broke N'ky's cot), she would seem to be the source of his new-found temper. She's not all hot-headed, though; quite the opposite, in fact, as she tends to use her colourful suggestions of thought and emotion to soothe and calm.

Sabella

Since the hatching, Sabs has been noticeably tired and not her usual perky self. It doesn't seem to be any one thing in particular, certainly not anything that couldn't be said about pretty much everyone else. She's been spending a little more time with the other Cromese weyrlings than before the hatching. Though she still keeps her distance from the likes of Sybile. Her cot has been chosen next to Canie and her brown.

Ghislaith is much less talkative than some of the other young dragons, more prone to single word answers and description through images and transmittance of emotion rather than true conversation. However, over time others might notice she has quite the habit of slinging in dry, sarcastic one-liners out of nowhere.

Telavi

It's hard to say how much Telavi has changed since the hatching, since she was Searched so very soon beforehand, but she certainly acts as though she hasn't had to acclimate to much. Yes, there are the occasional episodes of shy observation, but mostly she's friendly enough, self-confident and good-humoredly pleased at her luck. There's the traditional soft look in her eyes when she spots her dragon (and the exasperation when Solith wakes her up by licking her face), but mostly she carries Solith around on her shoulders nearly everywhere she goes, much as a little girl might carry her doll or an older woman wear her marriage mark on a chain.

As for Solith herself, she's still small, with those insubstantial-looking wings she's so careful of when playing with the other hatchlings, and with an airy mind-sense that notices but glosses by nearly everything without particular remark. Maybe she really is an airhead?

Meara

The damp spring weather has been playing havoc with Meara's arthritis, meaning she's been on duty far less than she might otherwise have been. She still sticks her head in as often as she can, and is a font of calm, patient wisdom.

Quinlys

Quinlys is her usual, irrepressible self. Some of the assistants seem to find her a little trying, sometimes... it's subtle, but it's there. She seems to be more interested in being friendly with weyrlings than being a taskmaster and superior, which is having variable results.
