- Month 6 - Month 8
The IC
Burning Both Ends of the Candle
The months wear on and for some, the workload is becoming easier as they get used to the pace. Others find themselves falling further and further behind in all their classes. This is the make or break point, some may be asked to take a step back and focus on their rider training -- it is, after all, the more important of the two and the Weyrleaders, who have received weekly evaluations, will be making their decisions towards the middle of the sixth month.
Those who do continue on will begin meeting with and attending the wingleader meetings at least once a week. Some of those who are more driven (or as some might call it, just plain nuts) might attend all of them. They generally occur during the morning when you should be otherwise occuped in training to be a rider and/or drilling with Flurry, so pick and choose your battles wisely.
Also, if you would like to get in trouble for missing out on too many classes, please inform the weyrlingmasters or the administrative team so we might be able to play out, or plan some sort of in character consequence for those actions.
- Wingleaders: Threadfighting Theories
- Wingleaders: Formations, New Formations, Why Things are Done the Way They Are (as opposed to regular classes where you memorize and learn the hows rather than whys).
- Attendance of the daily wingleader meetings at least once a week, taking notes, and making sure a copy of these notes are on the Weyrleader's desk.
Roleplay & Vignette Ideas
- Approach the weyrlingmaster, wingleaders, or weyrseconds for roleplay regarding their duties.
- Talk with members of the weyrling class who are taking these classes to gauge how they feel about weyrlinghood. Become a big sister or brother.
- If you're struggling with the workload, find someone to offload on -- whether it's a fellow trainee, or another weyrling you're close to. Perhaps even ford those formidible steps leading to the Weyrleaders' ledges to ask for advice.
Goldriders
The option to quit the leadership training track has been given to some of your fellow weyrlings by this point. Unfortunately, there is no such option for you. In addition to your storeroom training and lower caverns management training, you will take on a few new duties this month as well begin to explore the world of dragonhealing.
- Dragonhealing: Gold influence, easing pain, calming others.
- Dragonhealing: Sutures, amputations, Threadscore damage to the body, minor surgical work.
- Dragonhealing: Threadscore damage to the wings.
- Recordskeeping: Introduction to the Records Room.
- Weyr Management: Receive keys to the locked areas of the stores.
- Attendance of weekly weyrwomen meetings, taking notes, and making sure a copy of these notes are delivered to each weyrwoman's weyr.
- Attendance of weekly lower caverns' staff meetings, taking notes, and making sure a copy of these notes are delivered to each person's abode.
