Description

V'ros isn't one who typically stands out in a crowd - he is average height and slim. Warm, cinnamon flecked brown is the color of his eyes. They are framed by black eyelashes and complemented by a pair of thick, square eyebrows that tend to be on the expressive side. When he smiles fully or laughs, they crinkle at the edges. Dark chocolate-brown hair is kept cropped close to his head. His mouth, which curls up at the corners naturally, is wide and thin. He has a short, up-turned nose and a blunt chin, rounding out a square-shaped face with a smooth complexion.

History

The circumstances of Valenros's birth are somewhat unknown. Some say his mother, a young seamstress with exceptional talent, was madly in love with the much older Holder of Winter Ridge, Valdor. Others say it may have been a one-sided advance from Valdor's side. Whatever the conditions, Roz was born a short twelve months after his mother and father made acquaintance. Unfortunately for them both, Valdor was already married and the father of two legitimate sons. Roz was somewhat unwelcome and unwanted, but was nevertheless taken into the fold. His mother died a short two turns later in the midst of another childbirth that claimed the baby as well.

Valenros was raised side-by-side with his two older brothers. He was to play with them, to assimilate, but was told to always remember that he was not one of them and they did constantly remind him of the fact. Five turns after his mother's death, Valdor's first wife passed away. A few months after that, he was married again and his second wife shortly pregnant. When Roz was nine, they welcomed another son.

It was in late turn 34 that Valenros accompanied an aging crafter from the Hold to visit a friend (on his deathbed) at High Reaches Weyr. During his short stay, he received a letter from his brother instructing him to stay on at the Weyr for a time - possibly permanently. Not long after Valenros was searched by A'rist's Lythronath for Cadejoth and Hraedhyth's clutch in turn 35. It was at that hatching that he Impressed brown Zmeyth. Theirs has been a troublesome bonding, and V'ros has found himself doubting his ability more than a few times, but now that they are nearing the end of the brown's first turn of life, they've found a decent balance between dragon and rider.

Relationships

Valdor: is his father.. or is he?
Valsterne, Valrix, and Valhan: are his brothers.. no matter who his parents are.
Jadzia: scares him, vaguely. He'd like to be friends with her.. but then, maybe not.
Aishani: was a great lady, in his eyes. Now, she's gone, and he won't forget what she did for him.
Azaylia: is a nice lady too, maybe a little too friendly, but then aren't all weyrfolk?
R'hin: is wise, very, very wise, and V'ros wishes he could be more like 'him'.
Quinlys: is his teacher. She's given him too many chances.. why? He's not sure. But that doesn't stop him from being scared of her.
Telavi: is the cool substitute. Nicer than Quinlys, more understanding. Why is she with K'zin, again?
Lycinea: is a puzzle. They're not friends and then they are friends. But since he broke her arm, he feels accountable.
H'vier: is a dick. Avoid at all costs.
Edyis: is much hated by him. Maybe hate is a strong word.. disliked. She meddles too much.
A'rist: is his bro. Bros forever. No one gets between a bro and his bro.
K'del: is his Weyrleader, and he owes him his allegiance. Beyond that.. he's not sure.

Alignment: Lawful Good- A lawful good character acts as a good person is expected or required to act. He combines a commitment to oppose evil with the discipline to fight relentlessly. He tells the truth, keeps his word, helps those in need, and speaks out against injustice. A lawful good character hates to see the guilty go unpunished. Lawful good is the best alignment you can be because it combines honor and compassion. However, lawful good can be a dangerous alignment when it restricts freedom and criminalizes self-interest.

Race: Humans are the most adaptable of the common races. Short generations and a penchant for migration and conquest have made them physically diverse as well. Humans are often unorthodox in their dress, sporting unusual hairstyles, fanciful clothes, tattoos, and the like.

Primary Class: Paladins- Paladins take their adventures seriously, and even a mundane mission is, in the heart of the paladin, a personal test an opportunity to demonstrate bravery, to learn tactics, and to find ways to do good. Divine power protects these warriors of virtue, warding off harm, protecting from disease, healing, and guarding against fear. The paladin can also direct this power to help others, healing wounds or curing diseases, and also use it to destroy evil. Experienced paladins can smite evil foes and turn away undead. A paladin's Wisdom score should be high, as this determines the maximum spell level that they can cast. Many of the paladin's special abilities also benefit from a high Charisma score.

Secondary Class: Wizards- Wizards are arcane spellcasters who depend on intensive study to create their magic. To wizards, magic is not a talent but a difficult, rewarding art. When they are prepared for battle, wizards can use their spells to devastating effect. When caught by surprise, they are vulnerable. The wizard's strength is her spells, everything else is secondary. She learns new spells as she experiments and grows in experience, and she can also learn them from other wizards. In addition, over time a wizard learns to manipulate her spells so they go farther, work better, or are improved in some other way. A wizard can call a familiar- a small, magical, animal companion that serves her. With a high Intelligence, wizards are capable of casting very high levels of spells.
