Average height, average build, pretty enough face: Larinel is much like any number of girls around the weyr, being relatively attractive without being in any way outstanding. She has red-brown hair that naturally curls to her shoulders, though she's cut it short since her Impression; it sets off the chestnut brown of her eyes to good advantage. Shavaeth is a pale, spring green in colour, large for a green.
Larinel and Brandos grew up together; their mothers were best friends, their fathers vaguely tolerant of each other. They had playdates together well before 'play' was actually a word that could be used to describe either of them. That didn't mean they didn't fight: indeed, the pair barely got along in childhood, and in their early teens. Once out of harper lessons, Larinel started working in the kitchens, and might have been content to pretend Brandos didn't exist forever, were it not for both of them being searched for Iovniath's second clutch.
Larinel managed to avoid her childhood playmate for most of candidacy, and certainly, she stood on the opposite side of the sands to him during the hatching. But their greens hatched at much the same time, and Larinel's Shavaeth and Br'dos' Quianveth have taken to each other like ducks to water: sparks are likely to result.
