- The Igen Exchange - Turn 36 - Present: Igen offers High Reaches a temporary goldrider transfer to ease their goldrider woes; Irianke's arrival certainly does that, but it results in complications, too. Is it really fair to force several of the weyrlings destined to Impress from Irianke's Niahvth's clutch to transfer to Igen?
- The Highwayman - Turn 36: Brigands in the Nabol area attack, steal, and even kill; after stealing the summer tithe from Keogh, they are finally apprehended and taken back to Nabol. Presumably, justice is served... but if so, no one's actually heard the details.
- The Death of Teris - Turn 36: While on a visit to High Reaches, Teris' Iskiveth goes between without her rider. The Acting Weyrhealer, Miska, knowing that Teris is a fellis addict, decides that she needs to be clear-headed before making a decision as to her own future; many people are discomforted by this. Finally, someone manages to sneak Teris something to help end her life. In the aftermath, a healer inquest is called for, and Miska is ultimately moved to more administrative duties at the Hall.
- The Storm - Month 2, Turn 36: A storm off Ista abruptly changes course, putting the Tillekian fleet in danger. For reasons unknown, Aishani and Iesaryth are at Tillek when the alarm is sounded, and end up in the midst of the storm, warning ships; reinforcements from the Weyr are called for. In the midst of it, Iesaryth is - allegedly - hit by lightning (or was it something more sinister?) and goes between, never to return.
- Piracy on the High Seas - Turn 34 - Turn 35(?): Pirates attack and sink/steal a number of ships off the Tillek coast. High Reaches seems to struggle with a response to it; relations with Tillek sour further. Abruptly, however, the attacks simply... stop.
- A Crisis Of Succession - Month 7, Turn 32 - Present: At eighty-five no one expected Lord Ustelan of Nabol to live for terribly much longer; the only real hope was that he would officially name an heir before he died. Instead, his wife went missing - with rumours of a pregnancy, and proof of an acknowledged heir-to-be-born - and, following his death, chaos ensued, with several claimants to the Hold unwilling to back down. With the harvest soon to come in, and no easy resolution in sight, there's every chance the Weyr will get drawn into this, too.
- Divided Leadership - Month 11, Turn 30 - Month 6, Turn 32: After Iolene's death, High Reaches has a long, eight month wait for the next queen to rise, and the leadership to be decided. In the end, even eight months isn't long enough: both junior queens rise at once, and both are caught by browns, leaving the weyr in the unprecedented situation of having two Weyrwomen and two Weyrleaders... or perhaps none at all. After all, who ever heard of a female brownrider as Weyrleader?
- Exiles and Islands - Month 6, Turn 25 - Turn 30: The discovery of a group of exiles on a distant Western island sets off an occasionally difficult chain of events as the group return to the mainland and become instrumental in both Weyr and Hold politics.
- The Exile Queen - Month 6, Turn 26 - Month 2, Turn 30: When High Reaches' Weyrleaders encouraged the young exiles to Stand for Iovniath and Cadejoth's clutch, the last thing they expected was for them to Impress half the dragons - including High Reaches' newest queen and one of her bronzes. Iolene's exile upbringing did not make for an easy path, one that become more complicated still after Tiriana's ousting and her own surprise rise to the position of Senior Weyrwoman.
- The Assassination of Iolene By The Coward I'kris - Month 12, Turn 29 - Month 5, turn 30: When Monacoan (and still-weyrling) brown Svissath catches Rielsath, a chain of events is set into motion that does not become clear until Iolene's abrupt murder in Month 2, Turn 30. Teenage I'kris is soon taken into custody and eventually returned home for sentencing and death - leaving High Reaches in the hands of two inexperienced goldriders.
- A Lord in Exile - Month 6, Turn 26 - present: Though many of the young exiles elected to take their chances on the Sands, Devaki elected instead to pursue his birthright, and insinuate himself into hold politics. His marriage to Issedi, sister of Lord High Reaches Hold, surprised many - and leaves him in an enviable position for future dealings.
- Criminal Activity - Month 5, Turn 22 - current (on hiatus): The Impression of two former convicts has caused predictable disquiet, but although things still continue along smoothly on the surface, there are those in the area that would take advantage of the situation.
- Meteor Disaster - Month 10, Turn 21 - Month 4, Turn 23: The Weyr might have lost some of their investment in supplies and infrastructure for the land-deal-gone-wrong, but the extra tithes promised by Lord Crom DO come through, at least. When Starsmiths predict a meteor shower visible with the naked eye, the weyr plans a meteor-watching party, which ultimately results in disaster when one of the meteorites hits the star stones, and causes not only significant physical damage, but also takes several lives, and causes countless injuries. In the aftermath, convicts arrive at High Reaches to do the repair work, and rumours out of the High Reaches Hold area begin to suggest shady dealings by the Weyrleaders themselves.
- Raids Against High Reaches Weyr - Month 6, Turn 19 - Month 13, Turn 19: With a new, very young, and somewhat mercurial leadership after turns of stability, doesn't High Reaches Weyr look just /ripe/ for the plucking? And pluck someone tries to do. Raid after raid leads to an undercover team of Weyrfolk to tag along with a few tithe trains and capture a raider. In the end, it comes out that this was all the doing of the Weyr's old friend Rajiv Vijay, who is back for revenge. Given a trial, though fair would depend on which side of the noose you sat on, he was summarily executed while his conspirators were sent to the mines.
- Weyr Self Sufficiency - Month 13, Turn 18 - current: Yuliye, Lord Crom's niece arrives as an emissary to High Reaches Weyr but her timing is poor as the Weyrwoman is too 'busy' (aka ill) to see her and the Weyrleader is a creature to avoid (having been jailed by her uncle and all). It takes a few months to build relationships but finally she worms into Tiriana's good graces as her bestie and K'del's graces period and offers them Crom's olive branch of Weyr self-sufficiency. Sort of. It's Crom after all, maybe it's really a knife-in-the-back in disguise. The raids against the weyr distract from the proposal for some time, but towards the end of turn 20, a deal is formalised, and High Reaches starts to look at exactly how they're going to turn themselves into farmers (of a kind). Unfortunately, all does not go as planned, and, between unhappy local holders, unhappy High Reaches riders, and potentially the influence of Lord Aughan himself, the plan fails, further destabilizing K'del's position as a result.
- Death of a Weyrwoman - Month 11, Turn 18 - Month 4, Turn 19: Diagnosed with a failing liver, Satiet conceals her illness long enough to get her affairs in order. She doesn't conceal well enough as people start to suspect and her desire for privacy puts several healers to debate whether to compromise their oath or to look out for the safety of the Weyr. In the end, she takes control of her death as she controlled her life and leaves the Weyrwoman's knot and a letter of succession in temperamental Tiriana's hands.
- Month 9, Turn 17 - Month 5, Turn 18: Tillek's succession is thrown out of order after Edeline comes to the Weyr to negotiate support for her claim to the holdership in a Man's World <tm>. Things get further muddled when Lord Tillek, Edeline's father, somehow finds an unfortunate demise (some say at the hands of his wife and Edeline's step-mother). The wicked step-mother pushes for her son, the Lord's step-son, to be made Lord thus sparking debate over man who is not Blooded but possibly capable versus woman who is Blooded, but well a woman. It concludes with Edeline arranging her own marriage to Potipher, a minor holder who then becomes Lord and they are both confirmed.
- Traders at High Reaches Weyr - Month 1, Turn 16 - Month 10, Turn 16: Weyrleader N'thei strikes what seems to be an up and up deal with some shady traders who begin to rent High Reaches' uncovered and secure storage rooms, and unbeknownest to him, uses it as a front to launder stolen property. When a shipment of ale is thieved from wingleader L'vae's family, suspicion turns onto the traders. Chedayi (a Vijay) is scapegoated but the rest of the traders flee the Weyr.
- Crom Cross Area Plot - Month 10, Turn 12 - Month 9, Turn 15: Part of High Reaches' coverage area since as long as anyone alive can remember, Crom decides to defect allegiance back to their original Weyr, Telgar due to Weyrleader R'hin's insistence that the mine holds that have popped up since the Interval be shut down due to the renewed, spontaneous Pass. High Reaches loses Crom's tithes, including the all important cromcoal which keeps the Weyr warm in harsh winters. It leads to the two Weyrs butting heads and the eventual jailtime of future Istan Weyrleader A'son and future Reachian Weyrleader N'thei. I'daur takes the fall for being the mastermind of raids against Crom farmlands by the Weyr. All is resolved through a very tense mutual agreement that Telgar will fly over the minecraft and their lands while High Reaches will (save face) and fly over the Hold and minor holdings themselves.
- Month 3, Turn 11 - Month 12, Turn 16: Thread returns to Pern by surprise due to a comet. First Fall over High Reaches Hold.
