Nala (then known as Faye) arrived at Fort from places unknown and for herself a job as an Assistant Headwoman. She was demoted to message runner for several months after an incident at an Istan hatching, then reassigned to Dice, which she now takes care of the books for.
Occasionally, there's something of a Bitran sharpness to her accent. Some may know that she's actually cousin to Bitra's Lord.
She Impressed Jaeger Tech Blue Jynth D21 M2 T34. Their bond is viewed by many, including some of her wingmates, to be too close and co-dependent.
Once shared a weyr with greenrider M'vyn, but now lives in her own weyr with Jynth for most of the sevenday. She is also in a relationship with assistant weyrlingmaster Aislara, though has outwardly shown no interest in any other women.
In month 11 of turn 34, she brought a young child, Nalyn, to the weyr. Reportedly, he's her son, and M'vyn's. Then, in month 12 of turn 35, she gave birth to another child fathered by M'vyn, named Grace.
Nala transferred to Southern Weyr for five months in month 1 of turn 37. She returned later in the turn, seemingly more balanced than when she departed, but notably apathetic about most things.
Description
Willowy and long of limb, Nala is not exceptionally tall at 5'8", though this puts her at above the average height for a woman. Not particularly curvy, her figure leans towards the more lithe end of the spectrum, her hips slim and waist faintly hollowed, limbs graced with the subtle muscle of a body used to work. Her hair is dark and cut into a savagely precise bob in line with her jaw, though it is sometimes tamed with black pins. Her eyes are likewise dark and often lined with kohl, adding a sharpness to an already angular face.

Background
Next to nothing about Nala's background is common knowledge. She arrived at Fort Weyr with letters of recommendation that earned her a job as one of Shevena's assistants and soon settled to her work without causing much of a scene or any hassle.
...Until she and Elise were accused of assaulting a Candidate following Ista's latest Hatching. She was escorted back to Fort by an Istan Bronzrider and was demoted (supposedly) to message runner, put on the long stretches to try and keep her out of trouble. She took this news with steely good grace and without argument, comment (at least comment that's been heard) or complaint. She likewise suffered her punishment without protest and quietly resumed her duties after a period of several months as a message runner.
Her next change in employment saw her reassigned to Dice, where she ran numerous different games, as needed. She is efficient and her mode of address rather crisp, showing little emotional involvement with her work, though this has been known to vary drastically depending on who is playing the games.
What was seen of Nala during those days usually found her in the training room or The Glass Fountain. She was not a drunkard by any stretch of the imagination, but she has been known to enjoy quality spirits beyond her salary and spend her time in the Fountain people-watching. Despite her variable income, she continued to wear the well-tailored, high-fashion clothing that she'd been noted for since her arrival (even if her fashion isn't particularly feminine). Some might wonder just where the marks for these clothes are coming from.
On day 10, month 1, turn 34, Nala married Journeyman Harper Morvyn, under her real name, Nalani of Bitra. This is not known by anyone but the Harper Master who performed the rather basic (at their request) ceremony. They were both Candidates for Elaruth and Bijedth's clutch at the time, and, to their mind, bent the rules, believing that the reasons married persons aren't permitted to be Searched don't count if the persons married have already been Searched.
On day 21, month 2, turn 34, Jaeger Tech Blue Jynth hatched from Elaruth and Bijedth's fourth clutch (Elaruth's seventh) and Impressed to Nala, who was, at that time, known as Faye. Her Impression forced her to acknowledge at least part of her given name, though M'vyn, Elise, and, to some extent, Lilah, know who she truly is.
On day 16, month 4, turn 34, Nala collapsed, suffering a prolonged miscarriage, which caused what the Healers referred to as a mental break. For a time, she wasn't sure where she was, or what was going on, and was convinced that she was back at Bitra, suffering through another rough time from her past. In the days that followed, she became distant and despondent, interested in little but Jynth's existence. She has since exhibited the hallmarks of depression, and the whole thing seems to have weakened her both physically and mentally.
Day 8, month 11, turn 34, Nala brought a three turn old boy, named Nalyn, to the Weyr, without offering any explanation as to why or whose he was. She has never offered more than a parental claim on him in answer to enquiry, citing M'vyn as his father, which is obvious enough from the child's looks.
Early in month 2, turn 35, Nala and Jynth moved into their own weyr and out of the one that they had been sharing with M'vyn and Elsyth. It was not long after this that Jynth appeared to have intentions of chasing Lilah's gold Eliyaveith, though ultimately he never got past blooding.
Day 4, month 12, turn 35, Nala gave birth to a daughter, Grace, fathered by M'vyn and delivered not by the Healers in the infirmary, but by Lilah.
Day 10, month 1, turn 37, Nala asked N'muir to transfer her to Southern Weyr. He reluctantly agreed, and Nala and Jynth spent over five months at Southern. During this time, she saw a mindhealer every few days and made efforts of her own to try and drag herself out of the depression that she sunk into. By her own admittance, she was in such distress over who she had been, who she was and who she should be, mostly thanks to her own creation of the different people she had played at being, that she was close to taking her own life. She eventually returned to Fort, swapped for the brownrider (one of the girls, like Nala, sent to Astivan's 'Selection') claiming to be the mother of Lord Astivan's child. When she returned, she continued to see a mindhealer, but also tried to ensure that every bridge that she had burnt with her departure remained burnt, with varying degrees of success.

Personality Type
