Description
He's a rangy fellow, all in all; tall with black hair, gray eyes, and a grim visage that rarely cracks with a smile or frown. He's somewhere in his fifties and seems to be the type who will forever look that way, timeless in a sense that all world-weary and life-hardened men of his ilk tend to be. His clothing tends toward practicality in his day-to-day - but his wardrobe tends toward darker hues and his riding leathers are always pristine and black.
Otherworldly Oblivion Brown Cynoglysth
He is an undulating beast, liquid and long with a tendency toward slinking rather than striding. His hide initially appears to be an unbroken tide of brown that verges on black. It's only when he moves that the oily browns emerge along bulging muscle or slide along the lines of sinew. Flecks of brighter color, near-metallic in hue, scatter themselves like wayward stars across his form - only to coalesce at the tip of his unnaturally long tail in a bright and tempting spark of near-white. His mindvoice is as strange as his hide - soothing and slippery, cajoling and cunning. He might well talk others into their own doom if given half a chance...

Yaughlanu was born at High Reaches to a pair of riders that wanted little to do with him - and less to do with each other. It suited the lad well enough; he was raised with the other brats and naturally assumed he would become a rider. It only made sense, of course. He proved to be a rather grim youth and took well to work as a butcher when he was old enough. Though he was Searched at the tender age of fifteen, he stood several more times. He ultimately Impressed Otherworldly Oblivion Brown Cynoglysth - and became Y'nu - at eighteen.
Weyrlinghood was uneventful and Y'nu's training as a butcher came in handy. He was eventually tapped into Frostbite and has been there ever since. Cynoglysth has a peculiar nose for Searching and that's given him plenty of opportunity to visit the various nooks and crannies of the world - and the women, of course. In spite of - or perhaps because of - his grim tendencies, Y'nu's turned into quite the ladies man and has spawned countless children over the turns between flights and out-Weyr visits. He doesn't tend to follow his children, nor does he seem to care; none of his spawn have come to find him, either, and Faranth only knows what he'll do if they come to call.
