In the summer of turn thirty-five, Farideh moved to High Reaches from an undisclosed Hold at Igen, and worked as a laundress in the lower caverns.
She chose to stand as a candidate for Niahvth and Reisoth's clutch in turn thirty-seven, and surprised many by Impressing gold Roszadyth.
She is known for her dramatic ways, sometimes immature reactions, and her Holdbred sentiments, but since graduating has assumed her junior weyrwoman responsibilities with an uncanny knack for management and practicality.
While the gossips love to entangle the goldriders of High Reaches with whomever strikes their fancy, it is common knowledge that Farideh has a regular on-again-off-again sailor for a boyfriend.
Description
Curly hair of rich chocolate complements her round shaped face and lightly tanned skin, its length reaching just below her chin. Her eyes are large and a sage-and-brown variant of hazel, short-lashed but animated, with arched brows. She has a slim nose, a stubborn chin, and full, berry-colored lips that reflect her ever-shifting expressions.
Skinny, with little curve, and average of height, this young woman would be simply passable if not for her bright eyes and finely-boned features. She chooses to wear colors and fits of clothing that flatter her body type, though predominantly in neutral colors, blues and golds. On her left wrist, she wears a simple bracelet of woven reeds and tiny beads, in blue and green.

She's just a little thing, this young queen, with a narrow, tapering face utterly overshadowed by wide-spaced eyes; they lend her a look of natural innocence only amplified by the demure and careful way in which she holds herself. Pale, antique gold drapes itself down the length of her childishly round torso, capturing each curve as if carefully tailored. It pools, richer and darker, beneath the curve of her belly, and shades gradually lighter towards the fine-wrought tip of her tail. Her wingsails give the impression of being as fragile as lace, their ivory-gold lengths inclined to drape about her body like a mantle, framed by pinions tipped in pearlescent pallor.

Wisdom in Words Egg
Marbled in amber and dulled, ancient gold, and noticeably larger than its clutchmates, there is no mistaking this egg for what it is and what it carries. Tiny dark markings circumnavigate its broad curves, pressing ancient secrets into a shell that looks smooth from afar, neither garishly bright nor so subtle as to fade into the sands upon which it sits. That might seem to be the end of it; only intimate study, close enough to touch, might reveal the fine-grained pattern to be found beneath even that - as if the entire egg had been woven from tiny fibres, drawn together in a consummate whole.
If there had been any other way, the occupant of the Wisdom in Words Egg would likely have found it, to preserve the ancient beauty of the shell that has sustained her this long. Alas, there is no way around it; the egg begins to fall to pieces around her, hairline fractures bursting like so many seams. In the nest of shards left to litter the sands around her, she presses herself up to stand tall and dignified... or as dignified as one might be expected to manage when sodden with egg goo and seeing the world for the very first time.

Temperament
Sensible and self-possessed, Roszadyth is the mature voice of reason and modesty, a compassionate, kind, and selfless creature-- your perfect confidant and sister-in-arms. On her own, she is not a queen who will make waves, preferring to glide through life while easily forgotten in her quiet competence... as much as a queen ever can be forgotten, in front of so very many eyes. It is in concert with you, Farideh, that she shines, that both of you do. Together-- your bold, vibrant spirit tempered with her innate grace, poise, and sense of duty-- you are timeless; a story for the ages.
In her earliest days, Roszadyth's innocence and inexperience will make her childlike. She is not 'babyish,', though she'll certainly need your help in understanding the world, and in building a routine with which to face it. Rather, she shares with you her sense of wonder and delight as she sees the world (and her role within it) with the rosy tint of youth. She wants every experience she believes it proper to have (and even, secretly, some she considers quite improper indeed), and will delight with Jorrth and Akluseth in the simple joys of exploration, even if she may be naturally more prim in the execution. Sometimes, buoyed by your passion, exuberance and daring, she may even be able to let loose and truly enjoy something she might otherwise assume was simply not appropriate. « That, » she might giggle to you. « Was fun! We should do that more often. » One thing that she will discover an appreciation for early, and never forget, is the sheer pleasure of mud; she knows that rolling in it leaves her dirty, and she knows how much there is of her to clean, but even as an adult, she will often find it difficult to resist: mud baths are good for the soul.
Innocence fades in all creatures, and the same is true for Roszadyth, whose gentleness may nonetheless lead her to be underestimated. She throws herself into learning what she must, putting her whole self into every lesson; she's not naturally brilliant the way Ahtzudaeth and Lifreyth are, but she learns with diligence. There will be times when the understanding of just how much everyone is counting on her rests heavily upon her shoulders, but she bears it with quiet dignity; it is her duty, your duty, and she is too sensible not to accept that for what it is. Still, she's equally sensible enough to know when to ask for help-- from you, from her dam, from those of the Weyr who already manage responsibility, and from those with whom she finds a kindred spirit. By adulthood, she'll be unlikely to need that often; Roszadyth will be largely self-sufficient, and confident in her unassuming way. She'll see her path-- and guide you down it, as best she can. It may be that she finds Neianth's search for inner peace both compelling and appealing; perhaps they can assist each other.
She enjoys life. She's an optimist insofar as she prefers to see things in a positive light, much like Lifreyth, but not so much as to not face realities. She would rather everyone get along, but acknowledging that in practice this is simply impossible, she'll take her role very seriously indeed. Her natural influence with other dragons is something she will be cautious to use-- by far, she prefers to encourage self-governing-- but should it become necessary, there is steel beneath that gentle warmth, as dragons like Vadevjiath may well discover. As a leader, she'll prefer to guide rather than command; you will need to balance each other, determining when to be bold, and when to step back. « Farideh, I love you, » she might say, « and I understand your frustration. But yelling at the Lady won't solve anything. Take a deep breath. »
With adulthood comes maturity, and Roszadyth will have that in spades. Though her understanding of the world will be colored with the experiences she has through weyrlinghood and beyond, she has an innate sense of what is good and proper. She believes, deeply, in altruism, generosity, and goodness. She will be the voice of wisdom, patience and temperance in your head, and though she wishes not to be involved in every detail of your day (because then what would you have to tell each other at night?), she's never more than a thought distant.
You deserve your privacy as much as any other, and most especially when it comes to your romantic affairs. It's not that she's not interested (of course she is!) so much as that she wishes to give you the choice to share, or not share, as you prefer. She has no judgement in her, so long as your lovers don't hurt you (whether in deed or by causing the hurtful sort of gossip). Instead, she'll be there to listen when that is what you need, and calmly, practically, point out that which you may not have seen. One thing you can always be sure about is that Roszadyth is always focused on your well-being and happiness, albeit tempered by what she sees as your duty to the Weyr.
It may be Roszadyth's sense of responsibility that leads her to prefer courtship both before her flights, and when in the skies; perhaps, too, it's that inner romantic she so often hides beneath her sensible nature. In the days leading up to her flights she's likely to swing from extremes, at once carefree and full of gaiety, and be inclined to fret over the magnitude of the decision. Those mood swings may reflect in you, too, Farideh, and the onslaught of emotions may be enough to descend like a migraine in the final hours. She would like, very much, to be caught by dragons by whom she shares a bond, but she's aware, too, of her duty: being caught by the right dragon is important. A flight is like a grand Gather: you might see a dragon you like at the start, but it's always best to make him work for it before making your choice. In the end, although accidents do happen, she never forgets her duty to High Reaches-- and for High Reaches, she must always do her best to mate only with the very best.
Once the eggs arrive, she is unlikely to be an over-protective or overbearing mother. She'll have quiet pride for her clutches, and won't mind if you or the clutchsires wish to show them off; she might even do so herself, especially with those dragons she considers to be friends. « They're lovely, aren't they? Yes, even the brown one you think so ugly. »
Even so, none of these friendships will ever hold a candle to the esteem she holds for you, Farideh. 'Lifemate' is a word she cherishes: you are her everything. Though you both have demanding paths ahead of you, Roszadyth is with you, through laughter and tears, good days and bad. Even on the days when both of you feel you have nothing more to offer the world, you can retreat together to recharge, or rally and carry on as ladies of High Reaches must do. Whatever comes, she is with you, and you with her, and that is sometimes enough; that is sometimes everything.
Public Impression Message
The Selflessness Over Steel Gold is apologetic as she turns away from yet another girl. How many times, now, has she approached with that tentative stride and then shied away? It wears on her, now, those mantled wings hugging closer to her frame, those steps more careful than ever-- careful, and yet also tired and unhappy, and so very lost. Only a few steps more, however, and she halts again, this time in front of a brunette with short hair and hazel eyes. Her chest seems to catch, her breath withheld, as she turns fully to the candidate. For a heartbeat, she is absolutely still, before her bejeweled eyes begin to whirl into the rainbow that signals fulfillment: it is done.
Private Impression Message
Nerves are only natural on hatching day, but feeling an echo of your own, a second set? That's something to pay attention to, especially as the chaos of the Sands seems to slip away as that echo comes into focus. Her touch is like that of an extended hand, delicate and demure, but as her soft radiance meets your mind, there is a moment of instant and indescribable perfection. « Roszadyth, » she says, voice sweet and simple, her nerves receding to be replaced with a contained excitement. « I've been waiting forever to meet you, Farideh. » And now that she has, she can see what she always knew to be true: you were meant to be together, and now you are. It's just that she also has-- do you hear it or feel it?-- a suddenly-rumbling belly...
Mindvoice
Sweet and light, Roszadyth's mindvoice is an extension of her kind demeanor. More often than not, her mental presence is like the gossamer drape of a curtain tickled with a refreshing breeze and dappled by filtered sunlight. Music is a delight for her and though it's not appropriate to share at all times, if she's enjoying a contented moment, it shouldn't come as a surprise to have some soft melody setting the tone in the backdrop of her thoughts and touch. She smells of flowers, of sugar and spice and everything nice, when she smells of anything at all. Her touch is like the brush of a gloved hand, or the tickle of hair-ribbons against the cheek, soft and gentle. Even in sadness, her voice tends toward controlled if genuine expressions of feeling. At truly overwhelming moments, her restraint breaks and her emotions, whose depths might otherwise only be guessed at, flood her voice and touch. Modest restraint is best, of course, but everyone has their moments.
Itchyspots
Roszadyth is particular about her grooming, with her beloved mud the exception that very much proves the rule: in order to put her best foot forward, she feels she needs to look the part. Bathing and oiling her expansive body will become a regular part of your routine. Before important moments, she'll ask for your help, a touch up here or there, where she thinks she may not be looking to her best advantage. She's not vain, of course; she just wants to do you and the Weyr proud. Of particular problem to her in the in-between times are her paws, which get far too coarse for her liking through the physical rigors of a day's duties. She'll also be especially concerned that you've helped her get all the blood and gristle from around her maw and in her teeth; how unsightly would it be to go about looking a savage! It's not for Roszadyth, certainly, even if it might suit less cultured dragons just fine.
Suggested Adult Description
She's a slender creature, this queen, with a narrow, tapering face nearly overshadowed by wide-spaced eyes; they lend her a look of natural innocence only amplified by the demure and careful way in which she holds herself. Pale, antique gold drapes itself down the taper of her torso, capturing each curve as if carefully tailored.
Inspiration
Farideh, knowing your love of Austen and given your examples of Jane Bennet and Jane Fairfax, we opted to use a combination of the two and a handful of linked archetypes (The Ingenue - http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TheIngenue, and Silk Hiding Steel - http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/M ... idingSteel, primarily) to create your Roszadyth. Her name comes from the Polish word rozsadny for 'sensible' with a letter swap for flow. Her description is inspired by Regency fashion, and this dress in particular https://www.pinterest.com/pin/77616793553727378/ . Her mindvoice is partially inspired by the many actresses who have played the Janes, their habit of peeking through windows or stealing time outdoors on a beautiful day, and the musical soundtracks for the various versions of Pride and Prejudice.
Egg Inspiration: The Library of Alexandria, also known as the Great Library. Long since destroyed, of course, but an ancient landmark nonetheless.

In The Beginning
Big Bay Hold is the place Farideh calls home. Every little facet about the place: the climate, the people, the clothing are all things she adores. Loyalty to home is bred deep into her, extending far beyond the typical familial bond. She was raised by a pair of holders, Korek and Anatolia; her father being the younger brother of Big Bay's Holder, Pavrol. They lived in the Hold proper, much to her uncle's enjoyment. Both brothers worked to run the Hold, picking up where each lacked to sort out the tough spots. It left Farideh and her older sister, along with their mother, to kick around however they pleased. Pavrol never married, nor bore any illegitimate children, so the burden to carry on their family legacy was always shouldered onto the younger brother. Somewhere, some distant cousin's son would be named heir if that safety net failed.
Korek's daughters thrived with the notion that their lives were their own, that they wouldn't be expected to uphold their family's duty by acting Holder. Their mother had other plans, as mothers often do. She was a distant relation to some Blood - very distant - but it always chafed that she had earned the right, just not the title. It suited her to believe her girls, as beautiful as they were, would one day land themselves fancy Lords that she could call family. Teoma was the obedient daughter, rapt in her lessons and always following whatever direction her mother passed down. Farideh was the willful one, unwilling to listen or follow orders, always questioning the way things were. Her mother despaired that she would ever find her a match.
They blossomed into young women and, soon enough, Anatolia's dreams came to fruition. In a surreptitious meeting, Sea Cliff's heir and Teoma met, fell madly in love, and became betrothed not many months later; that's how Antolia saw it anyway. Farideh was incensed! Who were they kidding?! Mishal was a playboy and everyone within Igen's territory knew it; his affairs were legendary. She exerted efforts over the next turn to try and break the couple up, to no avail. A glamorous marriage at Sea Cliff Hold sealed the deal. It was frustrating to Farideh, who thought her sister would never be happy with such a man but her futile efforts only earned her sister's ire. Afterwards, Teoma refused to speak to Farideh, and left it up to their mother to relay any news.
That left Farideh to their mother's schemes. To no one's surprise - save her family's - Farideh packed up her belongings and headed out not long after the ceremony. Her mother tried to plead with her, her father was stricken, but what were they going to do when she left, without a word, and headed off with some bluerider in the middle of the night?
The Laundry Life
From a life of luxuries and excess, settling into a Weyr full of free-living weyrfolk and dragonriders was not going to be as easy as she had originally anticipated. It wasn't as easy as throwing on a patched up tunic or as scary as the holder stories portrayed, but it was better than life at Big Bay, where her every move was watched and critiqued, and her future was full of frumpy gowns, babies, and boring social functions with an as yet nameless husband. Right away she signed up as a laundress in High Reaches' lower caverns -- among other things, there wasn't much a spoiled holder's daughter could do as a job. Certainly, it wasn't glamorous either, and her hands often became dry, cracked, and red from the constant exposure to water, soap, and other solutions they used in the laundry.
In time, she came to see that the Weyr wasn't such a horrible place - despite how strange weyrfolk were and their terrible morals and etiquette. She quickly made friends, though those bonds would be tested over the turns; from teenage girl to young woman, many things would eventually change. One of the first, and closest, friends she made was Lys, who worked in the kitchen, and after that came the likes of Klohi, T'mic, Quinlys and Itsy (which was further complicated by their mutual acquaintance, Drex).
While Farideh was at High Reaches, unbeknownst to her, High Reaches was in dealings with Igen for a loaner junior gold to fill the ranks after the untimely demise of Aishani. It was Irianke -- a woman that Farideh knew well from her political dealings with Big Bay -- who transferred in at Weyrwoman Azaylia's behest. Quickly, they rekindled their relationship, though by now it was much more complicated, and Farideh found herself leaning on Irianke as a familiar piece of their home.
Irianke's gold Niahvth rose shortly after her transfer and was caught by bronze Reisoth, and it was this clutch that Farideh chose to ask to Stand for. It was also during the gold's flight that Farideh found herself entangled with her frenemy, Drex, which was the beginning of their love tryst. During the cycle, which was a whirlwind, there were many poignant moments, one being the death of Weyrwoman Azaylia during the Igen bazaar put on by the Weyr.
Her loyalties and beliefs were tested a few times during the whole process, but on that day when the eggs started rocking and hatching, Farideh's life changed forever. She walked away the lifemate of gold Roszadyth.

Blood
Anatolia: I love you, but I don't like you. You always wanted me to be you and I can only be me. I won't apologize for that.
Korek: I've challenged everything and become a burden, but I still hope you miss me as much as I miss you.
Pavrol: I wish I had your nerve, your steel. Maybe no day I'll be half the leader you are.
Teoma: Will I ever see you again? I'm sure you've made a lovely mother.
Ethran: I will move mountains for you. I love you so.
Inner Circle
Lys: I'm happy you found the lifemate you always wanted. I hope life is everything you could want, now.
T'mic: You've always been a little odd, but you're a good person and I trust you more than I should. Please, don't ever change.
Drex: This has never been easy, but it's better than not having you, not being with you. I don't want to give you up.
Quinlys: You're both my teacher and someone I confide in. You're fearless, impassioned, enjoyable, and a great listener. However, I wish things were different, had been different, sometimes.
Jo: You're dangerous for more than one reason, but I can't help being drawn to you.
C'ris: You're one of the most genuine people I've ever met. I'm happy you want to be friends, and I hope to be a great one to you in return.
Political
Irianke: I'm worried you'll end up hating me. That you hate me now. I've disappointed you already, and I know I will again, but I'm trying, I really am.
K'del: It would be premature to say I like you, but I'm glad you're here to help. I'm glad you don't laugh in my face when I don't know what I'm doing. Thank you for.. being you, for once.
Yuliye: Time and experiences have separated us, but you're still someone I look up to. You're a real lady, no matter what anyone else says.
Joremy: You'll do what's best for Igen, I know you will, and I'm sorry, really sorry, it had to happen the way it did.
Wulfan: I don't know what happened. I won't ever know, but I'll always remember you as the man I thought you were, not as you really are.
Jocelyn: I like you much better than I did before, but.. this won't be easy. I'm sorry. We'll get through it together.
N'rov: I'm happy for you. Weyrleader of Fort. You've got such a fancy title now, but I hope you stay the same.
Other
Itsy: Crazy, no-business-being-a-captain-of-a-ship, bitch.
K'zin: You've grown on me, in that 'ugly sweater that's really old but somehow comfortable' sort of way.
Leova: You've seen me at my weakest and yet I hardly know you. It makes me uneasy. I want to think you're on my side, though.
Telavi: I'm not sure why you put up with K'zin. But, I like you. A lot.
Edyis: Things change, people change. I wish you well in everything you do. I just hope you get over whatever it is that's been following you around. You deserve at least that.
A'rist: ....
V'ret: I don't know what I did to deserve your hate, and I'm starting not to care. You're just another insufferable bronzerider.
T'gar: And you, you're just as insufferable.

Every witch needs a good potion to knock off her enemies.
Farideh's Witch's Brew
- Dragon's breath
- Eye of weyrleader
- Tongue of weyrling
- Bronzerider tears
- Firelizard wing
- Lavender
Everytime I do this damn quiz I get a different answer, but, Farideh has grown a lot, so I guess it's right:
ENFJ Personality - 'the Protagonist'
People are drawn to strong personalities, and ENFJs radiate authenticity, concern and altruism, unafraid to stand up and speak when they feel something needs to be said.
ESTJ Personality - 'the Executive'
ESTJs are aware of their surroundings and live in a world of clear, verifiable facts - the surety of their knowledge means that even against heavy resistance, they stick to their principles and push an unclouded vision of what is and is not acceptable.
People with this personality type meet their promises, and if partners or subordinates jeopardize them... they do not hesitate to show their wrath. This can earn them a reputation for inflexibility...
- Strengths: dedicated, loyal, strong willed, direct
- Strengths: stubborn, judgmental, uncomfortable with unconventional situations, too focused on social status, difficult to relax
