V'ros
Contents
Description
Valenros isn't one who typically stands out in a crowd - he is average height and slim. Warm, cinnamon flecked brown is the color of his eyes. They are framed by black eyelashes and complemented by a pair of thick, square eyebrows that tend to be on the expressive side. When he smiles fully or laughs, they crinkle at the edges. Dark chocolate-brown hair curls where it touches his forehead and the nape of his neck, and the rest is kept cropped close to his head. His mouth, which curls up at the corners naturally, is wide and thin. He has a short, up-turned nose and a blunt chin, rounding out a square-shaped face with a smooth complexion.
WYSK
It is well known that V'ros - originally Valenros - was a visiting Holder from a minor Hold near Tillek way. He soon after become posted in the archives, assisting the scribes, and not long after that, was Searched by A'rist's Lythronath for gold Hraedhath and bronze Cadejoth's clutch. On the hatching day, he came away as V'ros, intrepid weyrling to brown Zmeyth.
History
The circumstances of Valenros's birth are somewhat unknown. Some say his mother, a young seamstress with exceptional talent, was madly in love with the much older Holder of Winter Ridge*, Valdor. Others say it may have been a one-sided advance from Valdor's side. Whatever the conditions, Roz was born a short twelve months after his mother and father made acquaintance. Unfortunately for them both, Valdor was already married and the father of two legitimate sons. Roz was somewhat unwelcome and unwanted, but was nevertheless taken into the fold. His mother died a short two turns later in the midst of another childbirth that claimed the baby as well.
Valenros was raised side-by-side with his two older brothers. He was to play with them, to assimilate, but was told to always remember that he was not one of them - he was the bastard child, after all. And they did constantly remind him of the fact. Five turns after his mother's death, Valdor's first wife passed away. A few months after that, he was married again and his second wife shortly pregnant. When Roz was nine, they welcomed another son. It didn't change his situation - he was still the illegitimate one.
They've made sure he knows his place, which is as much as Valdor's errand boy as anything else. It is with this purpose that he has landed at High Reaches Weyr in the meantime. He was told to escort Winter Ridge's posted healer - an elderly, wizen man - to visit a sickly friend at the Weyr. According to Valdor, one can never fully trust the weyrfolk, and he'd rather have someone he DOES trust handling his affairs for him. Roz is convinced his father has ulterior motives, but he's bound to help in any instant his father requests.
- Winter Ridge Hold is a minor hold within Tillek's boundaries. Their primary export is wool of fine quality. It is a fairly prosperous Hold.
Relationships
Valdor: is his father, a wealthy Holder whose main export is fine, quality wool. Sheep's the game. He is a promiscuous man with multiple offspring. Treats Roz much like an errand boy, but has a soft spot for him. Roz has a love-hate relationship. Hates how he's treated, loves the man with every fiber of his being and wants his approval.
Valsterne: is his older brother. He's mean and plays dirty. Has no problem with beating Roz up, pushing him around, etc. Heir to the kingdom of sheep. Thinks he's the greatest of men. Hates Roz.
Valrix: is his second oldest brother. Much more snarky and sarcastic than the oldest, but still a bully. Puts up with him more than Valsterne does, but still dislikes him. It's mutual.
Valhan: is the youngest brother. There is a huge age gap between him and the others. He's a nasty little shit, but a coward. Roz feels sorry for him.
Jadzia: scares him, vaguely. He'd like to be friends with her.. but then, maybe not.
Aishani: is a nice lady. Deserves his respect and loyalty.
Azaylia: is a nice lady too, maybe a little too friendly, but then aren't all weyrfolk?
R'hin: is wise, very, very wise, and V'ros wishes he could be more like 'him'.
Quinlys: is his teacher. She's given him too many chances.. why? He's not sure. But that doesn't stop him from being scared of her.
Telavi: is the cool substitute. Nicer than Quinlys, more understanding. Why is she with K'zin, again?
Lycinea: is weird. He 'wanted' to be her friend, but then she turned him down. He doesn't understand her at all.
H'vier: is a dick. Avoid at all costs.
Edyis: is much hated by him. Maybe hate is a strong word.. disliked. She meddles too much.
A'rist: is his bro. Bros forever. No one gets between a bro and his bro.
Soundtrack
Baby don't worry
The demons in your head
Always had the best intent
Ever try to listen in?
Gonna take you away
Gonna take you away
When I take you down and they take you away
And I spin you around and make you wait
And I turn you around
Inside I hope you know I'm dying
With my heart beside me
In shattered pieces that may never be replaced
And if I died right now you'd never be the same
It's just another night, another dream wasted on you.
I have prayed for a power like you
To see deep down In my soul
I would surrender myself
Holy hell and heaven high
You will open up my eyes
And I am finally here
La da dee
La la da doo
La la da me La la da you
La da dee
La la da doo
Theres only me Theres only you
La da dee
La la da doo

La la da you
La da dee
La la da doo
When you're gone I'll think of you

Alignment: Lawful Good- A lawful good character acts as a good person is expected or required to act. He combines a commitment to oppose evil with the discipline to fight relentlessly. He tells the truth, keeps his word, helps those in need, and speaks out against injustice. A lawful good character hates to see the guilty go unpunished. Lawful good is the best alignment you can be because it combines honor and compassion. However, lawful good can be a dangerous alignment when it restricts freedom and criminalizes self-interest.
Race: Humans are the most adaptable of the common races. Short generations and a penchant for migration and conquest have made them physically diverse as well. Humans are often unorthodox in their dress, sporting unusual hairstyles, fanciful clothes, tattoos, and the like.
Primary Class: Paladins- Paladins take their adventures seriously, and even a mundane mission is, in the heart of the paladin, a personal test an opportunity to demonstrate bravery, to learn tactics, and to find ways to do good. Divine power protects these warriors of virtue, warding off harm, protecting from disease, healing, and guarding against fear. The paladin can also direct this power to help others, healing wounds or curing diseases, and also use it to destroy evil. Experienced paladins can smite evil foes and turn away undead. A paladin's Wisdom score should be high, as this determines the maximum spell level that they can cast. Many of the paladin's special abilities also benefit from a high Charisma score.
Secondary Class: Wizards- Wizards are arcane spellcasters who depend on intensive study to create their magic. To wizards, magic is not a talent but a difficult, rewarding art. When they are prepared for battle, wizards can use their spells to devastating effect. When caught by surprise, they are vulnerable. The wizard's strength is her spells, everything else is secondary. She learns new spells as she experiments and grows in experience, and she can also learn them from other wizards. In addition, over time a wizard learns to manipulate her spells so they go farther, work better, or are improved in some other way. A wizard can call a familiar- a small, magical, animal companion that serves her. With a high Intelligence, wizards are capable of casting very high levels of spells.
