Description

Standing four of five inches shy of six feet, not overly good-looking nor remarkably ugly, and a study in browns, A'rist is a good one for getting lost in a crowd. Hooded light-brown eyes give him an air of calm, if only on account of their shape. Klah-brown hair brushes his ears and grows longer down the back of his neck. His tan face still has some of the roundness of boyhood, and his frame still lacks some of the muscle of a fully grown man. But he's just impressed a bronze and hit puberty; it's only a matter of time.

• Those from High Reaches Weyr may have known A'rist as Aoristen, the kid who helped take care of the herd and stables.
• A'rist impressed Lythronath, the first-hatched bronze, who broke shell at the same time as a brown, blue, and green, thereby screwing up many wagers.
• Lythronath is a bit of a, let's say primal, dragon, who causes and gets into lots of trouble, and is well known to the dragonhealers.

• Lythronath: We're bound by blood, and I'm starting to understand just what we're capable of. I should be scared, but deep down, I'm not.
• Azaylia: You understand more about Lythronath than anyone else. Maybe if you stopped thinking of me as such a kid, you'd understand how close to terrible we really are. Maybe I don't want you to.
• Edyis: I don't know what it is you think you can learn from me and Lythronath. Part of me still wonders if I could learn anything from you, but I don't think it would be what either of us want.
• G'laer: I don't know how to feel about you and Teisyth being 'in charge' now.
• Ghena: You'd be nicer to be around if you weren't such a know-it-all. I'm almost glad my dragon's not as boring as yours. I don't know what I'd do with my time.
• H'vier: Boozing and partying is fun and all, but I don't get how you think that's going to make us respect you.
• K'del: I won't screw it up again. I won't. We won't. I wish I could make you see how crucial it is that we find a way to belong here.
• Klohi: You're such a girl. Still, I wish I could tell you Lythronath is sorry for what he does, but he never is. I tried to tell you I'm sorry for what I did, but I don't think you got it.
• L'sha: If you're scared of us now, maybe that's for the better. But it's not what I wanted.
• R'hin: If you have something to say to me, just say it. To me.
• Rh'mis: Lythronath wouldn't pick on you if you'd stop pretending to be what you aren't anymore. Half of me thinks you deserve it.
• Telavi: You seem nice, but I wish you wouldn't act like I'm stupid sometimes. I'm not.
• Quinlys: I wish I could be as confident as you are that my dragon's doing what he's supposed to.
• V'ros: This is what brothers feel like.
