Description

E'sren

Naturally upbeat, E'sren has a bark-y laugh and uses a lot of hand gestures. His face expresses well his personality, his cool coming through strongly, and his black eyes squint with every one of those big grins. His jaw is square and chiseled, strong with a good chin, and his nose is a little wide but it suits him. He wears those few inches of dark hair slicked back now that it's grown out of the weyrling buzz; his face is cleanshaven, never so much as a shadow of stubble. Beyond that, he's of average height; there's more muscle now than before though he still maintains that lean build. His voice is a low, smoky tenor. He's a sharp dresser, his choice of clothes on the effortlessly snappy, stylish side. His knot marks him a weyrling to a blue dragon at High Reaches; the silver thread is new, denoting him as a member of the weyrling leadership program.

Ahruth

Slick, slender, smooth; a speedster through and through. Gleaming polish buffs the blu cepheus of his hide, metallic bright, every inch of him built for speed - from the aerodynamic slope of his narrow nose to the slimness of his whipcord tail. Lightning-bright argento luna limns the streamlined curve of his spine, striking silver to the tips of his sleek 'ridges and out along the gullwing strength of his cyan-kissed wings. Acapulco darkness lines his undercarriage, road-slicked scuro along the inners of his slender legs, down to the dunkelblau and rubber of his treadmarked paws.

Alignment:
Lawful Good A lawful good character acts as a good person is expected or required to act. He combines a commitment to oppose evil with the discipline to fight relentlessly. He tells the truth, keeps his word, helps those in need, and speaks out against injustice. A lawful good character hates to see the guilty go unpunished. Lawful good is the best alignment you can be because it combines honor and compassion. However, lawful good can be a dangerous alignment when it restricts freedom and criminalizes self-interest.

Race:
Humans are the most adaptable of the common races. Short generations and a penchant for migration and conquest have made them physically diverse as well. Humans are often unorthodox in their dress, sporting unusual hairstyles, fanciful clothes, tattoos, and the like.

Class:
Paladins take their adventures seriously, and even a mundane mission is, in the heart of the paladin, a personal test an opportunity to demonstrate bravery, to learn tactics, and to find ways to do good. Divine power protects these warriors of virtue, warding off harm, protecting from disease, healing, and guarding against fear. The paladin can also direct this power to help others, healing wounds or curing diseases, and also use it to destroy evil. Experienced paladins can smite evil foes and turn away undead. A paladin's Wisdom score should be high, as this determines the maximum spell level that they can cast. Many of the paladin's special abilities also benefit from a high Charisma score.

History

E'sren used to be Rechasren, who was also Chase, a nickname he continues to prefer. He was a trader before being Searched, a salesman and entertainer with a high success rate and good sales record, but wasn't quite what his mother was thinking when it came to the future leadership of her life's work. So she practically threw her son at the search dragon and Chase showed up at the Weyr a couple of weeks before the eggs hatched.

He's an open, honest guy, laidback almost to a fault. Thus far with his fellow weyrlings he's been helpful and kind, if a bit high energy. Ahruth is the fast sports car. His element? Surprise. Bam.

The Renai Family

	Earyn E'sren's father. Earyn died two years ago after the family was struck by a sickness acquired from food poisoning, along with his son, Eamon. The family is still trying to heal after their loss, even if they quickly filled in the holes left by his passing, sheer survival urging them to learn how to function without their patriarch.
	Siobhan E'sren's mother, Siobhan leads this branch of the family alone since the death of E'sren's father, her husband, two years ago. She's a tough lady with a sharp intellect, and she runs a tight ship, some might say she's overcompensating for being a woman, or to make absolutely sure she doesn't lose anyone else. But she's a good woman, fun in her own way, and she loves her family.
	Eamon E'sren's older brother, deceased. He died two years ago from the same sickness that took his father. Eamon was E'sren's best friend, role model, partner in crime, everything a boy needs growing up rolled into one. The whole family felt this loss, but E'sren especially was heartbroken.
	Seamus Seamus is E'sren's younger brother by two years and the next up for taking over their branch of the family. He's a levelheaded kid, kind of E'sren's opposite in a lot of ways, which is probably why he's now in the position to take over instead of his older brother. He helps with the books and the business, but also runs the stall.
	Merilyn Merilyn is E'sren's little sister. At fifteen years old, she's at that age where attitude is everything. She's always helped their mother run the stalls and acts as go-fer for them when they're posted, running messages to and from the caravan to keep communication with whoever leads the area. She and E'sren have a playful relationship together.
	Harys Siobhan's sister and E'sren's aunt, Harys is a dark, serious woman. She's never been married, the need has never risen, and has been with them as long as E'sren's been alive. She was always ever his confidante when he was a child, and even now he trusts her, talks to her before his mother. She isn't one to judge harshly, but she is brutally honest.
	Adelain E'sren's cousin on his mother's side, Adelain deals with the clothing they sell, and has been travelling with Siobhan's branch of the family for the past three years. She was married to a man who left her for someone else, and she had nowhere else to go, so on she came.

Relationships

• Aishani - She's younger than he is, which gives him conflicting feelings. His instinct is protective, like an older brother might be, but she's in charge of the Weyr so that might be inappropriate. She's also from the same kind of stock as he is, and that just makes him want to look out for her even more. Ahruth really likes Iesaryth, and remembers her as his mother because he knows her to be, and he knows what a mother is thanks to his rider's open feelings towards his own.
• Alida - Puts up a lot of front, he heard she was laughing like an idiot when one of the other weyrlings was in trouble with their straps, after Sabella, and he really didn't like that very much. Not a lot of trust there, if that's how she's going to react to one of her own in distress, needing help.
• Azaylia - He likes her, Ahruth likes Hraedhyth. She's another sister figure to him, which raises the same kind of uncertainty. Not to mention that if it ever came up between her or Aishani, he has no idea who he'd back if it came down to it.
• C'wlin - He runs a mean drill.
• D'kan - Out of all the weyrlings, D'kan is probably the one E'sren relates to the most. They're not the same, they might not even come close to having common ground on the surface, but when D'kan was wingleader it kind of worked.
• F'manis - Mentor. He might not look up to him, but there have been a lot of moments when he needed advice, and he's definitely been watching as things unfold with the wings. The older bluerider is going to prove to be an interesting role model.
• I'zech - Bros. I'zech is the anti-E'sren, but the whole making I'zech be weyrlingmaster thing was probably the best thing that's ever happened to bromances. They get each other, and there's understanding there, both from E'sren and Ahruth when it comes to Rojeth.
• K'del - The few times he's seen him, talked to him, they've been just moments of casual acquaintance, but E'sren has a strange respect for the former Weyrleader, founded on some anonymous feeling.
• K'zin - Even though they both probably wish he didn't, E'sren knows a lot more about what K'zin's been up to as the months progress. Rumor and gossip are one thing, but it's hard to ignore when you hear things straight from the horse's mouth, as it were. So long as he doesn't try anything else with Sabella, and so long as he doesn't drag Telavi's name through the mud as well, and so long as he doesn't fuck with Azaylia and hurt her, they should be fine. Should be.
• Mave - The same age as his little sister, and with the same sassy temperament, Mave's place in E'sren's life is obvious. He helped her put her show on, and he'd help again if she asked. They have an easy, playful relationship and grew close through working together on the show.
• Meara - Meara is awesome, and she's helped him through a few rough spots in weyrlinghood so far.
• N'hax - Not a bad guy at all, they worked together on Mave's play. He'd have a drink with him in a heartbeat.
• N'ky - He has a soft spot for N'ky, and he's noticed the hard time the greenrider's had, but he's mostly stayed out of it since he seems to want to be left alone more than anything.
• Quinlys - She doesn't take any bullshit. He likes Quinlys a lot, he's had many a meaningful conversation with her and she's always been the best at giving it to him straight, an honesty he admires.
• Sabella - His best friend, his confidante, the one person who sees all the sides of him he never shows anyone else, she's the only one who gets to see him take the mask off and be weary or have doubt. A lot of people might think that he's helped her during weyrlinghood, but she took him in and inspires him every day to do better. And now that they're trying this new level out, he can't seem to stop grinning like an idiot when she's around.
• Taikrin - Even if he doesn't voice his opinions of the Weyr's leadership, whatever they may be, he harbors secret concern for what the Acting Weyrleader is doing to his new home.
• Telavi - All for one, and one for all~ He, Sabella and Telavi have been close pretty much from the get go, and if Sabella's not around, the other two can still be seen studying together or eating, or walking through the tunnels on their way to drills or lessons. That hasn't changed since the dynamic between E'sren and Sabella has shifted somewhat, and the three of them still make each other laugh anytime they're together.
