Description

Gentle curves give lie to Lilah's frame, deceptive enough to hide tone and muscle underneath. She stands middling tall, average at around five feet and five inches, though the length of untamed golden red curls falls practically half that, touching her lower back. Darker lashes frame wide eyes that are colored with a burnt brown, soft in a face of already soft features. Her nose seems short though straight, her lips full with a dramatic curve. Skin speaks of a life led indoors, freckles splashed over cheeks and nose but otherwise the flesh remaining pale.

• Some may remember that she arrived at the Weyr at the same time as the rest of The Missing, but she didn't seem to be part of them.

• No one knows which hold she comes from or why she came to Fort, still. Well, except for one or two souls.

• She Stood for three clutches before Impressing gold Eliyaveith at Elaruth and Bijedth's hatching on Day 21 of Month 2, Turn 34.

• Eliyaveith rose for her maiden flight on Day 16 of Month 2, Turn 35 before she was a turn old and was caught by T'stan's brown Nsath. This flight did not result in a clutch.

• Despite graduating from Weyrlinghood into Citrine on Day 23 of Month 2, Lilah wasn't granted her junior weyrwoman knot until Day 25 of Month 12, Turn 35.

History

Lilah was born in a small hold that mainly dealt with raising herdbeasts known as Red Cairn Beasthold. She was the eldest of seven children, and though she was not the daughter of the holder, she was his brother's child. Needless to say, in a hold the size of Red Cairn, this did not bring her much in the way of special treatment.

However, she took an interest in anything besides raising the animals that stank up their hold and took up most of their room and food. She read everything she could get her hands on, escaped where ever she could. One of her escapes was the healer's cot, the one place that was always sterile and clean. The healer there allowed her to remain as long as she worked, at first cleaning and stocking, and then more.

She began to assist old Killan, learning more as she did. She learned to set bones, sew wounds, heal aches and invisible pains, deliver both man and beast from their mother's womb. And then she dabbled further, despite Killan's objections. At first, she did with the herdbeasts, cutting into them to find tumors and stones and removing them.

But then when Killan came to her to remove the tumor from his stomach, the old man bled to death on her table before she could sew him up. She ran before anyone could discover the body, only taking the time to pack up Killan's tools and take them with her, as well as say goodbye to her mentor.

With nowhere to go, she joined the Renegades as her only option, following them to the past and practicing her healing medicine in peace. It was only when the renegades returned to Fort Weyr that she saw an opportunity. She distanced herself from them immediately, getting a job as a grudge at first. Where they were sent away, she remained. When Dice opened, she just seemed to appear there as a fixture, hired before it's doors opened as a dealer.

It took her three clutches before finally gold Eliyaveith chose her from the Sands at Elaruth and Bijedth's clutch on Day 21 of Month 2. From there, as a weyrling, she seems to have struggled to get along with her fellow weyrlings and relate to them, especially those ranged younger than her, though she at least formed a bond with bluerider Nala, who had both Impressed with her and had worked with her at Dice before.

Just six days shy of her first turnday, Eliyaveith rose in her maiden flight, though the inexperienced queen was unable to last long before she was overwhelmed by her chasers and wound up being caught by a brown on the small side, Nsath. The flight did not result in a clutch.
