- He has two daughters by the former High Reaches Weyrwoman Satiet -- Riahla and Suireh. He has several other children here and there as well, though they've managed much less infamy than the twins.
- In Monaco circles he's known as a bit of a "fixer" (and not the handyman type of fixer).
- Riders who espouse more non-traditional roles within their respective Weyr heirachies may well have heard his name mentioned... as someone they should talk to.
- He was seen visiting I'kris when the brownrider was at High Reaches Weyr after winning Lujayn's gold's flight, before I'kris murdered Iolene. Rumor associates him, in a not-very-pleasant-way with I'kris' father and some ongoing dispute that might-or-might-not be related to this.
- During Turn 33 he transferred to High Reaches Weyr as part of a wing swap, with High Reaches' Polaris going south in place of Monaco's Savannah Wing. For a Turn he worked to improve the Weyr's opinion of Monaco. Three months after the wing returned to Monaco, the senior queen rose to be caught by M'kris, and shortly thereafter the entire Wing transferred to High Reaches under dubious circumstances.

History
Before Impressing Leiventh, Rathin was known as a Trader of the Beowin family. Before he was a trader, he had a slightly darker past -- though that's known by few. As a weyrling, he was known to cause a lot of conflict, and didn't deal well with authority. Fresh out of weyrlinghood, his Leiventh caught senior Josilina's queen, making him Weyrleader. Rumor would have it he was directly responsible for Josilina standing down, and Satiet taking over as Senior, to whom he also become Weyrleader. Those rumors probably come from reliable sources.
R'hin was known as a visionary and planner, and had intentions to prepare the Weyr for Interval by encouraging crafts amongst the riders, and controversially attempting to hold (and farm) land on behalf of the Weyr. He was Weyrleader when the Comet Pass took place, which ceased all such plans. History largely cites him as the cause of the split of Crom Hold from High Reaches coverage and their attempt to defect to Telgar Weyr, due partly to his lack of diplomacy, and partly to his stubborn insistence that Lord Crom close the extra mineholds he'd opened during the interval.
After his Leiventh failed to catch Teonath in her next senior flight, he moved to Monaco Weyr -- although those who have spent time in Monaco Weyr would tell anyone who asks that R'hin rarely actually seems to spent much time in Monaco Weyr at all.
At the end of month 8, turn 33, he arrived at High Reaches with a wing of dragons, as part of a planned wing swap with Monaco. For some reason he was put in charge of the wing, even though he held no such position at Monaco. Three months after returning to Monaco, the wing as a whole showed up at High Reaches Weyr, though the circumstances of their transfer are vague -- though likely related to the elevation of his long-time nemesis M'kris to Monaco's Weyrleader.

- Satiet - "The Lady of the Spires was the one woman I never grew bored of, who always managed to draw me back. I miss what we had. I miss her."
- M'wen - "My Wise Man. He has always been there for me. I trust him with my life, and trust his counsel to save my life."
- Riahla - "She's certainly daddy's little girl. We think more alike than most; I hope one day she'll take over from me."
- Suireh - "She reminds me, sometimes painfully, of her mother. It's probably why more often than not we don't get along, but I still love her."
- I'kris - "I would have saved you, had there been a way. Not even I can fake a dragon's death. I'm sorry for that."
- K'del - "He strikes me as a good man in a bad place. Had I met him twenty Turns ago he might well have been the Weyrleader I sought out."
